Fox News Confuses Sarah Palin and Tina Fey in Graphic Gaffe (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Jun 6th 2011 6:30PM
Tina Fey's impression of Sarah Palin has left such an indelible impression on the American consciousness that even Fox News can't tell the two apart.

On Sunday, while Fox News anchor Shannon Bream was teasing an interview with the former Alaska governor, Fox flashed a graphic of Fey doing her Palin impression on 'Saturday Night Live.'

The visual blunder came on a day when Palin was busy defending her unique historical interpretation of Paul Revere's ride, which may have Fey reprising her famous impression sooner rather than later.

Check out a clip of the snafu and a statement from Fox News after the jump.

Glenn Beck to End Daily Fox News Show, But Isn't Going Anywhere

by Joel Keller, posted Apr 6th 2011 1:40PM
Glenn BeckIf you're a fan of Glenn Beck, then the following won't be good news. If you aren't a fan, then this will make your day.

Beck has signed a new deal with Fox News, but he will be transitioning away from doing a daily show for the top cable-news network.

According to a press release, Fox News and Beck's production company, Mercury Radio Arts, "will work together to develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News' digital properties."

There's no current end date for Beck's daily program, only that it will end some time in 2011.

Mike Huckabee Talks With an Afghanistan War Veteran Who Considered Suicide (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Aug 30th 2010 7:25AM
Mike Huckabee Talks With an Afghanistan War Veteran Who Considered SuicideFormer Army Ranger captain Nate Self is a highly-decorated war hero. He has served in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kosovo. But even the knowledge of his own heroism wasn't enough to prevent Nate from wanting to kill himself. On 'The Huckabee Show' (weekends, 8PM ET on Fox News), Self described a mission in Afghanistan which traumatized him such an extent that he wanted to die.

Captain Self was sent to rescue a missing-in-action Navy SEAL. In the course of this operation, Nate ended up fighting against enemy soldiers from before dawn until after dusk. Eventually, he located the SEAL -- but the man was already dead. Still, Ranger Self brought the SEAL's body back. However, Nate lost six of his own men in the course of the operation.

Stephen Colbert Learns That He's a Potential "Ground Zero" Terrorist (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Aug 25th 2010 5:19AM
Stephen Colbert Learns That He's a Potential 'Ground Zero' TerroristOh, man. There's nothing worse than learning a dreadful secret about yourself. On the latest 'Colbert Report' (weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central), Stephen Colbert discovers the worst thing of all. Yes, apparently the satirical super-patriotic news host ... is actually a secret terrorist. Uh-oh. That can't be good. And sadly, the whole thing is Jon Stewart's fault.

Yesterday on 'The Daily Show,' Jon Stewart uncovered a startling revelation. One of the men giving money to the "Ground Zero Mosque" in New York City is also a major Fox News shareholder. This man's name is Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal. He owns 7% of the Fox News parent corporation, and he's also supporting the so-called 9/11 "terror mosque." Thus, there's a link between Fox News and the supposedly "dangerous" Islamic center. But then it gets worse.

Jon Stewart: Why Won't Fox News Disclose That Ground Zero Mosque-Funder is News Corp Shareholder? (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Aug 24th 2010 2:37AM
Jon Stewart Links Fox News to the 'Ground Zero Mosque'Fox News has been fairly merciless in its criticism of the 'Ground Zero Mosque.' Commentators on the station consider the mosque to be dangerous and radical -- and they think that creating an Islamic center on the site is insensitive to the feelings of 9/11 survivors.

Correspondents on the network have also routinely been asking where the funding for the mosque is coming from. They have been implying that the money is coming from suspicious sources ... such as terrorists. But now, we learn that a man who has been funding the "Ground Zero Mosque" is the second largest shareholder of ... New Corp, Fox's parent company. Whoops. That's not good.

Jon Stewart Slams Fox News For Giving $1 Million to the Republican Party (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Aug 19th 2010 1:36AM
Jon Stewart Attacks Fox News ... For Giving $1 Million to the Republican PartyIt's political scandal time on 'The Daily Show' (weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central). For some time now, Fox News has been attacking Democrats about political donations and secret fund-raising schemes. But two days ago, a report came out that News Corp. -- the parent company that owns Fox News -- has donated $1 million to the Republican Governors Association. Uh-oh! Blatant hypocrisy alert!

Now, Jon Stewart pounces. He does a parody of one of Glenn Beck's complicated chalkboard talks. But in this case, the illustration is fairly simple. And here's how it goes:

News Corp. ►$1 millionRepublicans.

Lewis Black Takes on Glenn Beck (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted May 13th 2010 3:35AM
Lewis Black Takes on Glenn BeckFox News personality Glenn Beck is apparently fairly angry. He's mad that some people have been comparing the new Arizona anti-immigration bill to laws that were passed in Nazi Germany. On 'The Daily Show' (weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central), comedian Lewis Black takes issue with Beck's anger. Black points out that Glenn Beck makes a lot of comparisons to Nazis himself.

The comic shows a video montage in which Beck compares the following things to Hitler or the Nazis -- Al Gore, the Peace Corps, warnings about global warming, a speech by President Obama, and so on. Black accuses Glenn Back of having "Nazi Tourette's." That is, he accuses him of just blurting out the word "Nazi" at odd times.

Black then offers some advice to Beck, saying that if he's so afraid of Nazis, he should just go hide in an attic -- and not make any sound. Zing!

Who do you think is right in this debate? Lewis Black or Glenn Beck?

Sarah Palin, Real American StoriesSarah Palin's new show, 'Real American Stories' (Thu., 10PM ET on FNC), premiered last night, showcasing some of the everyday heroes who live in our midst.

Whether you love Palin or hate her, it's always a good thing to shine a light on the people who put themselves in harm's way to help someone else -- like one nursing student who doused the flames on a driver who'd been in an accident.

Will you watch Palin's new show?

Glenn Beck Explains His 'Antichrist' Comment, We Explain the Rest of It

by Danny Gallagher, posted Mar 26th 2010 1:04PM
One of the weirder entertainment feuds, one even weirder than the famed Nipsey Russell-Herve Villechaize knife fight of 1976, has emerged in our midst.

A few days ago, Oscar winning director James Cameron got extra chatty with a Hollywood Reporter, er, reporter and let loose on anti-global warming zealots and Glenn Beck (and no, that last sentence wasn't meant to be redundant). It got so heated and ridiculous that it made me wish 'Celebrity Deathmatch' was still on the air and not in the claymation format.

Beck, of course, heard the comment in which Cameron claimed Beck had once referred to him as the "Antichrist". Beck dove into his archives, found the rather un-Christian reference he made towards the 'Avatar' director and post a full response to Mr. Cameron on his Wednesday show.

Of course, that's not the whole story.

Glenn Beck Feuds With James Cameron (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Mar 25th 2010 3:37PM
Glenn Beck Feuds with James Cameron'Avatar' director James Cameron is currently in a war of words with Glenn Beck, the controversial Fox News pundit. The feud gets a little complicated, but we'll break it down for you.

Three years ago, Beck called Cameron "the Antichrist" for making 'Titanic.' (Apparently, Beck is not a big fan of the film, or of the Celine Dion song that accompanied it.) Cameron recently heard about the remark and replied by calling Beck -- and we quote -- "A f--king a--hole."

Now, on 'The Glenn Beck Program' (weekdays, 5PM ET on FNC), Beck strikes back. While wearing 3D glasses, he mocked Cameron and 'Avatar,' saying that Cameron made a billion dollars off of a "Smurf-murdering movie,' and adding: "It's time to step away from the CGI, just for a minute, Jim."

Considering that Glenn Beck is involved, we're guessing that this feud is only just starting to heat up. Watch the entire clip to get the full story!

James Cameron Doesn't Think Much of Fox News' Glenn Beck

by Danny Gallagher, posted Mar 24th 2010 7:32PM
Glenn BeckActually, that's putting it mildly. James Cameron probably has a higher opinion of mosquito bites because as Ned Flanders once put it, "They sure are fun to scratch."

Cameron had a sit down with Hollywood Reporter reporter Alex Ben Block for the DVD release of his Oscar nominated film 'Avatar' and the two somehow got to talking about global warming and the pandemic of people on both sides of the aisles.

This segued into that all-important political topic of Glenn Beck, prompting Cameron to call him a "[BLANK]ing [BLANK]hole," only he didn't say "blank." Use your imagination.

'Family Guy' Actress With Down Syndrome Diffuses Sarah Palin's Latest TV Outrage

by Danny Gallagher, posted Feb 23rd 2010 10:00AM
Family Guy, Down Syndrome, Sarah PalinSarah Palin, a media gadfly who seems to have found more things to be offended about on television than the Parents Television Council, seems to pop up every time there is a joke about her and her family.

This time, Ellen, a character with Down syndrome voiced by actress Andrea Fay Friedman who also has Down syndrome, goes on a date with Chris and says that her mother is "the former Governor of Alaska." This sent the Palin family into an anger spiral that prompted her to trash the show and characterize it as an attack on her young son Trig, who also has Down syndrome, and everyone suffering from mental illness.

However, what Palin and the rest of the outraged among us fail to realize is that they suffer from a far greater disability: a lack of a sense of humor.

Keith Olbermann Denies that 'Countdown' is Going Down

by Danny Gallagher, posted Feb 5th 2010 8:35PM
Fox and MSNBC have been attacking each other with more frequency (but probably less violently) than the Black Spy and the White Spy, and one of their main forms of ammunition have been their respective ratings.

So naturally 'Countdown', hosted by the rather large (both in stature and physical size) talking head Keith Olbermann, had to respond to a report that appeared in the New York Post's "Page Six" column claiming that his show is one baboon hair away from cancellation hell.

Bill O'Reilly Tones Down the Funny in Final Part of His Jon Stewart Interview

by Danny Gallagher, posted Feb 5th 2010 5:29PM
Bill O'Reilly wrapped up the final portion of his interview with Jon Stewart on last night's 'O'Reilly Factor' and if you tuned in hoping for a night of hilariousness, well...you still got it. But this time, you got it from the right person.

Jon Stewart, the host of Comedy Central's 'The Daily Show', kept his trademark charm and wit at high volume during the third and final portion of their edited interview, even though the tone and substance of their discussion got a lot more serious.

And thankfully, O'Reilly put down his red nose and took off his clown make-up for this portion of the interview. As Joel mentioned yesterday, O'Reilly is painful to watch when he tries to be funny. Screw waterboarding; the NSA should have hired him as the emcee for their interrogations.
