Well, then today is not your lucky day. The subject came up Friday morning on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) when Hoda Kotb read from a report that found women in their 60s, 70s, and 80s could still enjoy an active sex life.

"So there's still time for me," Gifford said. Kotb said the sexually active women enjoyed a better quality of life and were generally happier. "But what do you mean by 'active?'" Gifford asked. Kotb responded that seventy percent of women in their sixties said they had some sexual activity in the last six months.

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 16th 2011 1:40PM
Kathie Lee Gifford and her birthday cake on 'Today'For Hoda Kotb's birthday last week on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC), she got a visit from her boyfriend and a bottle of tequila. Kathie Lee Gifford's birthday was today, and she got a celebratory serenade from Jeff Bridges, a visit from her husband, her favorite meal and a birthday cake. Kotb will have to do a little more lobbying for a bigger birthday celebration next year.

Bridges, who had performed earlier on the show, sang a celebratory song in a wandering falsetto about Gifford's revolutions around the sun. Frank Gifford, who was also celebrating his birthday Tuesday, surprised his wife, and Matt Lauer stopped by to give them both a peck on the cheek.

Newly Released Audio Spotlights 'Monday Night Football's' Decision to Announce John Lennon's Death During Game Broadcast (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Dec 8th 2010 1:20PM
Announcement of John Lennon's death on 'Monday Night Football'Just about every angle concerning the 30th anniversary of John Lennon's death has been covered exhaustively, but ESPN found a new one that 'Access Hollywood Live' (Weekdays, Syndicated on NBC) picked up on today -- the debate inside the 'Monday Night Football' broadcast booth about whether to announce the news that Lennon had been shot.

ESPN's 'Outside the Lines' discovered the previously un-aired conversation between sportscasters Howard Cosell and Frank Gifford, in which Cosell, ever focused on the game, wondering during a commercial break whether to break the news when the New England Patriots were setting up for a crucial field goal against the Miami Dolphins.

Gifford was the one who convinced him to do it, even insisting on it, saying, "You've got to do it," and adding, "It's a tragic moment and this is going to shake up the world."

Cosell did wind up announcing the news, and did so eloquently, telling fans to remember that this "is just a football game, no matter who wins or loses," and calling Lennon's assassination "an unspeakable tragedy."

Frank GiffordFrank Gifford literally spiced things up on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM ET on NBC).

When Kathie Lee was too afraid to drink a cayenne pepper cocktail, Frank stepped in for her. "I need Frank Gifford," Kathie Lee said. "I need a real man to drink this drink." Frank made a toast to the Hoda and Kathie Lee, but upon guzzling the drink he discovered he couldn't withstand the heat.

"It's alright," Kathie Lee said. "He's lived a long time." Frank disappears, but the cameras find him still choking on the spiciness of the drink.

The end of Monday Night Football -- on ABC, anyhow.

by Kim Voynar, posted Dec 26th 2005 10:40PM
Well, it's been a great 36 years, ABC, but, as Jonathon reported the other day, like a middle-aged man with a mid-life crisis dumping his faithful wife for the hot young secretary, Monday Night Football is running off with a new love - ESPN. Tonight's game between the New England Patriots and New York Jets marks the long-running sports juggernaut's last hurrah on ABC. Next season, if you want your Monday Night Football, you'll have to shell out the bucks for cable to watch it over on ESPN. The game itself isn't any big deal -- the Jets are long since out of the playoffs, but I imagine some people are watching for old times' sake.
