Just what we need...another network procedural

by Richard Keller, posted Dec 1st 2008 8:29PM

Gabrielle Union may be joing the world of procedurals come next fallCan I say something here that some of you will disagree with? There are way too many procedurals on the air right now. Criminal procedurals, medical procedurals, criminal-medical procedurals...the networks are popping them out faster than Michelle Duggar gives birth. And now, we can add another potential procedural to the ever-growing list.

The new project, being developed for NBC, will star Gabrielle Union (Bring It On) as a detective who must race to save someone's life before it's too late. What's not clear from this description is if this saving will be during each episode or across the entire run of a season. What is clear is former X-Files writer and producer Frank Spotnitz will be working on development of the show for the Peacock network. This is not the first time Spotnitz and Union have worked together. They collaborated on the very short lived Night Stalker series back during the 2005-06 season.

Short-Lived Shows: The Lone Gunmen - VIDEO

Tom Braidwood, Dean Haglund, and Bruce Harwood - The Lone Gunmen
"We tell the stories others refuse to tell." - Richard "Ringo" Langly

Like many of you, I have a growning collection of DVD sets from shows that left the airwaves too soon. If I had to pick just one to have back, it would probably be Firefly, but The Lone Gunmen would certainly be in the conversation. It was a great example of a spin-off done right. After years of service, fighting the good fight, lending a hand to Mulder, the boys finally got their own gig. Melvin Frohike, Richard Langly, and Johy Byers weren't your typical prime-time, leading man, characters, and The Lone Gunmen wasn't your typical prime-time show.

Some X-Files movie sequel hints - VIDEO

by Isabelle Carreau, posted Feb 25th 2008 10:23AM
The X-FilesCan you hear the eerie music becoming louder and louder? That's the sound of the X-Files movie being one step closer to being released on the big screens this summer (more than likely on July 25)! Being an X-Files and a spoilers fan, I jumped up and down a few times while humming the show's theme this morning when I stumbled on a SCI FI Wire article that offered just what I was looking for: spoilers about the upcoming X-Files movie!

Night Stalker stars to sign autographs

by Bob Sassone, posted May 22nd 2006 10:09AM
Night Stalker remakeWhen I first saw the headline to this story, I said to myself, "Night Stalker stars? Aren't they all dead?" I mean, Darren McGavin died earlier this year. Simon Oakland died years ago, and I'm sure Ruth McDevitt was probably 80 when the show was on 30 years ago, so I'm sure she's not up for signing autographs or talking about DVDs.

But then I read the story that it's the stars of the recent Night Stalker remake, along with producer Frank Spotnitz, that will be signing autographs. The DVD set is coming out on the same day, June 30.

Yawn.
