New TV on DVD releases this week
by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 20th 2009 7:06PM
Here are the new TV DVDs, in stores tomorrow.I'd like to apologize to the makers of My Own Worst Enemy. I enjoyed the show to a certain extent, but I have no intention of buying the complete series set (complete series meaning one season). It's one of those shows that I kinda enjoyed each week, yet at the same time I'm not going to miss it, and I can't imagine grabbing the DVDs off of my shelf and watching the episodes again.
There's actually nothing I want to buy this week, so my wallet/bank account will be happy.
- Battlestar Galactica - Caprica
- Dallas - Season 11
- Freakazoid - Season 2
- iCarly - Season 1, Vol. 2

Dorkin and Dyer chat about comics and cartoons
by Adam Finley, posted Sep 6th 2006 7:34PM
Evan Dorkin, the creator of the short-lived Welcome to Eltingville who also penned scripts for Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and worked on the English dub of Shin Chan was recently interviewed by Toon Zone along with his partner Sarah Dyer. Dorkin and Dyer talk about their experiences working in television and in comic books. I don't read many Super Girl comics, nor did I watch the Superman animated series that debuted in 1996, both of which Dorkin and Dyer worked on. I was, however, a fan of Freakazoid!, which, according to Dorkin (who left the show before it aired), was originally conceived as a funny action cartoon as opposed to the goofball superhero comedy it became, a decision made by executives who wanted the series to have more commercial potential. Dorkin also mentioned the series he's hoping to have picked up by Adult Swim titled Tyrone's Inferno, the story of a demon sent from Hell to Earth for being obnoxious. That series is currently in production.AOL's In2TV goes live
by Annie Wu, posted Mar 15th 2006 12:12PM

Yesterday, Keith McDuffee made a great post about his preview of AOL's new online television goldmine, In2TV. The site has gone live to the public today, with plenty of your old favorites ready for streaming. It's completely free (ad-supported) and these shows aren't going to watch themselves, so what are you waiting for? Now, if you will excuse me, I need to start my Freakazoid marathon.
