George Foreman boards the reality train
TV Land announced today that they will follow ex-boxing champion George Foreman for their new reality series, Family Foreman. The show will consist of six half-hour episodes that feature George balancing his many business endeavors with his family life. I think this show will be entertaining but I also think that MTV beat TV Land to the punch with Run's House. The shows sound very similar. An immensely successful and famous dad who is also a loving father and husband. A stay-at-home mom who is everyone's rock. And a load of children with different personalities and pursuits. Thankfully, all of George's sons (who are incidentally all named George) have been given nickames: Monk, Big Wheel, Red, and Joe. I feel bad for the one that got "Joe." They couldn't come up with something more creative or more bad ass (like Big Wheel).
Family Foreman will premiere on Wednesday July 16th at 10 p.m. on TV Land.
Here's the lineup for Celebrity Apprentice (so far)
Looks like a lot more celebs are lining up to be on Donald Trump's Celebrity Apprentice than I thought.
So far, the Donald has signed Joan Rivers, Carmen Electra, Jim Cramer of CNBC, Naomi Judd, George Foreman, Pete Rose, Tony Hawk, Danica Patrick, and Jeff Gordon. That's quite a mixture of sports figures, comics, and really loud financial analysts. I wonder if Foreman will try to punch Trump if he tries to tell him how to sell things.
Trump says that there are over one hundred celebrities who wanted to be on the show (guess they'll have to wait until Celebrity Apprentice 2). Trump also reveals that Britney Spears and Paris Hilton have some interest in being on the show, and he's going to try to get Lindsay Lohan too. Oh, that would be great if they could be on the same team, wouldn't it? What could their team name be?
Firefighter wins American Inventor
Last night, this summer's winner of ABC's American Inventor was crowned. Firefighter Greg Chavez's invention, Guardian Angel, was voted by Americans as the best invention out of the Top 3 selected by the judges. When Chavez presented his idea to the judges during the auditions, he hadn't won them all over (Pat Croce voted no) because he didn't have a working model; actually, his brilliant idea was only put on paper. But thanks to his passion and the fact that his idea could save lives if it worked, he got enough votes to not only become a San Francisco finalist but to end up in the Top 6.
George Foreman to be a judge on American Inventor
Looks like they're shaking things up for the second season of ABC's American Inventor (after the first season, they'd almost have to, right?).
Former boxer and grill impresario George Foreman is going to be one of the judges for the contest this season. He joins Peter Jones (returning for another season), Pat Croce, a former NBA exec, and Sara Blakely, who is described as an "undergarments entrepreneur" and "creator of Spanx." That sounds like something that could have been invented on this show, yet really dirty. The second season will also see a new host, Nick Smith.
What, no Doug Hall this year? He was the Simon Cowell of the group! And no Mary Lou Quinlan? She was the...well, Paula Abdul of the group.
The show returns on June 6 at 9pm.
