'Glee': Watch the 'Rumor Has It/Someone Like You' Adele Mash-Up Here!

by Crystal Bell, posted Nov 10th 2011 12:15PM
glee rumor has it/someone like you mashupEver since we found out that Mercedes and Santana were going to sing a diva-licious Adele mashup in the upcoming 'Mash Off' episode of 'Glee,' we've been impatiently waiting to see the real thing. Thankfully, the wait is over.

Fox has released the first sneak peek of the anticipated episode featuring Shelby's Troubletones take on the hyped-up Adele mash-up.

Honestly, after weeks of show tunes and older classics, we're happy to hear some Top 40 again. Not to mention that this might be one of our favorite 'Glee' tracks ... ever. Here's hoping that the Troubletones stick around for awhile because we need more of Mercedes and Santana's flawless duets.

And the best part? As our own Maggie Furlong previously reported, the mash-up is Adele-approved!

'Glee' Season 3, Episode 5 Recap: Let's Talk About Sex (VIDEO)

by Crystal Bell, posted Nov 8th 2011 9:05PM
glee season 3, episode 5 recap After last week's so-so episode, I got a little worried for 'Glee.' Even though Season 3 is already better than a majority of the cringe-worthy Season 2, viewers seem like they're getting a little gleeked out. Honestly, I can't blame them. 'Glee' hasn't always been a show that prides itself on character development -- but after watching 'First Time,' I hope people start to change their minds.

Guys, our show is starting to come back, and it's more heartfelt than ever.

Okay, so it wasn't a perfect episode by any means. Initially, I was thrown off by Artie, who seemed to be playing some sort of naughty-minded cupid, and by Rachel and Blaine's blatant naivety, but halfway in, I started to see the episode's heart. It wasn't about teenagers having sex, it was about love. That can't-eat, can't-sleep, reach-for-the-stars, over-the-fence, World Series forever kind of love.

glee season 3 pot o' gold

['Glee' -- 'Pot O' Gold']

After a three week hiatus, I honestly didn't know what to expect from 'Glee' this week. So to say that I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. It definitely wasn't as good as 'Asian F,' but it was better than a majority of Season 2, so I'll call this one a win.

Actually, call me completely shocked. To be honest, I totally didn't see that super awkward Puck and Shelby kiss coming this episode. Even though I knew it was headed there, that didn't make it any less creepy.

Not only did we get a bit of totally illegal Shelby/Puck action, we also met the much-anticipated new kid.

Countdown To Glee's 300th Song: Who Should Sing What?

by Crystal Bell, posted Nov 1st 2011 11:00AM
When we heard that 'Glee' was celebrating its upcoming 300th musical number with a special diva mash-up, we could hardly contain our excitement. We all have our own personal favorite numbers from the show, but seeing what's to come between now and milestone number 300? Well, there are just too many musical possibilities there not to get our minds into full casting mode.

In honor of the show's return (Tues., Nov. 1, 8PM ET on Fox), AOL TV decided to offer some free advice to the showrunners -- we mapped out who should sing the tracks leading up to lucky No. 300, laying out some possible new plot points as well.

We already know some of the answers, but for the rest we used our encyclopedia of 'Glee' knowledge to recommend the optimal vocalists for each upcoming track. Take a look ...

5 Things to Know About 'Glee' Newbie Damian McGinty

by Crystal Bell, posted Oct 28th 2011 6:00PM
Gleeks, say hello to McKinley High's latest heartthrob: Rory Flanagan, played by 'The Glee Project' winner Damian McGinty.

Fans of the Oxygen reality competition show swooned over the 18-year-old former Celtic Thunder singer, partly because of his dreamy Irish accent, but mostly because of his adorably clumsy footwork and his velvety smooth voice.

Next week's 'Glee' (Tues., Nov. 1, 8PM ET on Fox) marks the much-anticipated arrival of McGinty as McKinley High's new Irish foreign exchange student, but he's not exactly receiving the warmest welcome.

"Rory is very sweet and really innocent, and it's kind of sad because he wants to fit in and he always has a smile of his face, but he's just getting continually bullied," McGinty told us. "He's getting thrown off lockers and pushed into lockers. It's quite sad. He just wants friends and for people to like him." See? Adorable.

Chord Overstreet Returning to GleeChord Overstreet is officially returning to 'Glee.'

Let's recap his history with the show: He's in! Out! In? Out! IN! Fox has confirmed Trouty Mouth will be back for a multi-episode guest arc beginning this December.

"We love Chord and have always said that we wanted him back," Ryan Murphy, 'Glee' executive producer and co-creator, said in a statement. "So here's an early Christmas present for all the Gleeks -- Sam is coming back to McKinley, and just in time for sectionals!"

Overstreet joined the cast as recurring character Sam Evans in the beginning of Season 2. Sam was last seen holding hands with Mercedes in the Season 2 finale.

'Glee' Season 3, Episode 3 Recap (VIDEO)

by Crystal Bell, posted Oct 4th 2011 9:20PM
['Glee' - 'Asian F']

Last week's 'I Am Unicorn' was setting up for something big -- and 'Glee' totally delivered. While it's not my favorite episode ever, it definitely seems to echo the glory days of Season 1.

But what made 'Asian F' so great? Three things: A Mike Chang storyline (FINALLY!), more screen time for Mercedes and actual character development (...FINALLY!). I know there are still a few naysayers that have "sworn off 'Glee' forever," but this might seriously turn into the show's best season yet. However, only time will tell if Ryan Murphy & Co. can keep the momentum going.

We come to find out that McKinley High isn't just a school where everyone sings, dances and slushies each other -- it's actually a legit learning facility. Who knew? Well, apparently Mr. Chang did because he seemed all sorts of unhappy when Mike received an A- (aka an 'Asian F') in chemistry class. So he gives his son an ultimatum: get an A, quit 'Glee' or break up with Tina.

'Glee' Season 3, Episode 2 Recap: Three Directors & a Little Baby

by Crystal Bell, posted Sep 28th 2011 12:01AM
['Glee' - 'I Am Unicorn']

OK, judging by some of your comments from the premiere recap, I get the feeling that no one really believes in 'Glee' anymore, and I totally get it. Season 2 was too uneven and had way too many over-the-top quest stars and musical numbers and not enough plot.

Yet, I was hopeful for Season 3 because, believe it or not, I actually care about these kids.

I want to see Rachel make it to Broadway and Kurt follow his dreams to New York -- and I really want to see Brittany graduate high school (what grade is she in exactly?!).

As much as I applauded 'Glee''s Season 3 premiere for getting back to its basics, this week's 'I Am Unicorn' felt a little flat, like Ryan Murphy was building up to something, only to have it be revealed in episode 3. And I'm okay with that because I like the direction this season is going.

'Glee' Season 3: Listen to 'I Am Unicorn' Songs Here!

by Jean Bentley, posted Sep 23rd 2011 4:00PM
GleeLast week's 'Glee' Season 3 opener was a solid entry in the "help us forget about the debacle that was Season 2" sweepstakes. But how will episode 2, called 'I Am Unicorn,' fare? We'll see on Tuesday night, but for now, we can listen to three songs from the episode.

The 'Glee' kids get back to their showtunes basics with Kurt's solo of Barbra Streisand's 'I'm the Greatest Star,' Blaine's take on the 'West Side Story' classic 'Something's Coming' and Rachel's duet with her birth mom Shelby on 'Somewhere.'

As a bonus, we've included a gallery of photos from the episode. Why isn't it Tuesday already?!

'Glee' Season 3 Premiere Recap

['Glee' - 'The Purple Piano Project']

Gleeks, rejoice! The new season of 'Glee' is finally upon us, and it looks like co-creator Ryan Murphy has learned from his past mistakes because the show's Season 3 premiere brought us back to the basics -- underdogs, show tunes and Sue Sylvester.

That's right, unlike Season 2, Sue is back in fighting form, and she's not only taking on the McKinley High glee club, but she also has her sights set on destroying every single glee club, everywhere.

But that's not the only thing that's changed. Mercedes has got herself a new man, Quinn has a new 'do (and a nasty attitude to go along with it) and Rachel and Kurt are suddenly BFFs after their breakfast at Tiffany's.

Yet, even after a summer of changes, the glee club still remains at the bottom of the social ladder. Some things never change.

Ryan Murphy and Anne Hathaway Will Discuss 'Glee' Guest Star Plans Soon

by Chris Harnick, posted Sep 20th 2011 12:40PM
Ryan Murphy, Anne Hathaway GleeAnd so the Anne Hathaway wants to guest star on 'Glee' saga continues. This time, 'Glee' co-creator Ryan Murphy is the one speaking out.

Murphy responded to Hathaway's pleas to make TV magic happen by revealing to the world he and Hathaway will meet to discuss her ideas. Looks like Hathaway's very public "Call me, Ryan!" worked.

"I'm meeting with Anne in the next couple weeks," Murphy told MTV News on the Emmys red carpet. "We're not going to do guest stars at all the first half of the season, but I would love to work with her, and she supposedly has the whole thing mapped out. I'm curious as to what she wants to do. I love her. I think she's great."

'Glee' Season 3 Scoop: Details On the Premiere, 'Glee Project' Roles & What's Next

by Maggie Furlong, posted Sep 15th 2011 10:30PM
I got a chance to preview the 'Glee' Season 3 premiere episode (Tues., Sept. 20, 8PM ET on Fox), and it looks nothing like 'Glee' Season 2 ... in a good way.

Co-creator Ryan Murphy was on hand at the screening to talk about getting back to basics with the show -- more focus on the core group of characters and the show, and less about movies, products and mall tours. "Things took a bit of a nasty turn," Murphy admits when talking about the hiccups of Season 2. With all the other stuff going on, the show lost its way a bit (OK, a lot) and they know it. "Frankly I think the fans resented it."

'Glee' Season 3

Now it appears to be somewhat back on track with a season premiere that made me laugh, sing along a bit and, most importantly, start to care about these characters again.

I don't want to spoil anything for fans, but after the jump there are a few teases and some scoop on who's sticking around, who's returning and a few surprise guest stars fans will really love. There's also a well-marked spoiler or two for those of you who just can't get enough 'Glee.'
