Simon Cowell talks 'X-Factor' on 'Good Day New York' Less than a week before 'X-Factor' makes its season debut on Fox, entertainment reporter Julie Chang of 'Good Day New York' (weekdays, 9AM ET on Fox) caught up with Simon Cowell at the show's red carpet premiere event. Chang said Cowell looked "like a new man," and asked him if he had more invested in the new show, since its one he had created. "Well, it's like starting all over again," he said. "When I came here ten years ago, it was a similar feeling. I had no idea what was going to happen. But I did like the show. And this is kind of the same feeling. It's a different show. I've enjoyed it. I don't know what's going to happen. So it's exciting."

Sammi Giancola of 'Jersey Shore' on 'Good Day New York'Apparently there is a lot of great, healthy, happy stuff happening on 'Jersey Shore,' but we never get to see it. Why? Because, according to Sammi 'Sweetheart' Giancola, it's boring. Giancola appeared on 'Good Day New York' (weekdays, 9AM ET on Fox) to talk about the show and her on-again-off-again relationship with co-star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro.

Giancola was asked point blank what the redeeming value of the show was. "It wouldn't be TV without the fights, you know, the anger, the drama, the sex, the alcohol," she said. "That makes TV these days, and it's sad because in Italy, you don't see us touring around and having an amazing experience with another country. Which I wish they would show, but it's kind of boring."

"No, I actually had a really good time with it this year," she said. "I mean, this was my opportunity to really, really show who I am and not be in a combative situation. It was two seasons of just constantly being berated all the time."

She may have more friends on the show if she signs up for another season. She said she had been suggesting people to the producers, and that it has gotten a little out of hand. "Every cocktail party that I go to people are like, 'I'm on the show,'" she said. "'I'm going to be on the show with you.'" More people to be crazy with.

Malik Yoba Talks About 'Alphas' and Being an Acting Teacher (VIDEO)

Malik Yoba talks about 'Alphas' and teaching on 'Good Day New York'By day, Malik Yoba is a strongman on the Syfy show 'Alphas.' By night, he is a mild-mannered acting teacher at Long Island University, he revealed on 'Good Day New York' (weekdays, 9AM ET on Fox). When he's not filming the show in Toronto, as part of an ensemble cast with David Strathairn, he's back home in Brooklyn, preparing for class with his students.

Yoba teaches a course called 'The Working Actor,' which is appropriate because he happens to be one. His goal is to help students achieve that status too, but don't expect to become his co-star after taking the course. At least not right away. "I can't guarantee people jobs but I can certainly tell you what I've done," he said. "And I'll bring in famous friends like David Strathairn, who's an Academy Award nominee, who's in our show 'Alphas.' He'll be one of our guest speakers."

Jessica Chastain Talks About 'The Help,' and 'The Soup' on 'Good Day New York' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 22nd 2011 4:15PM
Jessica Chastain and her character from 'The Help' on 'Good Day New York'Jessica Chastain had a lot to say about her unexpected box office smash, 'The Help,' on 'Good Day New York' (weekdays, 9AM ET on Fox), but she was also curious about host Greg Kelly's relationship with 'The Soup.' Joel McHale has periodically lambasted Kelly on that show.

Chastain said she was a big fan of the book 'The Help,' and thought the film would do well. But she wasn't as big a fan as her grandmother. "Actually my grandmother is probably the biggest fan of the book, and, so yeah," she said. "I felt that if she brought all of her friends that we were going to be a big success." Grandmom was a little suspicious of her granddaughter being cast as Celia, but she got over it when Chastain brought her to the premiere.

Chastain said she was also a fan of 'The Soup.' Kelly thanked her but said it was humiliating to appear on the show. She said she'd be excited to see Kelly and McHale debate, and Kelly said there will be a response to McHale's teasing. "I can't tell you anything else, but we've got a counter-attack in the works," he said. If it takes that long for a witty counter-attack, 'Good Day New York' may be better off letting it go.

He noted it was a little raunchy, and named guest stars like Andy Dick and Tom Green. Then, of the Web site competition to be his new assistant, 'Will Work for Pauly,' he said, "It's almost like the online version of 'I Want to Work for Diddy.' Remember that show on MTV?"
