Michelle Trachtenberg on 'Weeds,' Returning to 'Gossip Girl' & Her Showbiz Role Model

by Jean Bentley, posted Sep 12th 2011 12:00PM
Michelle TrachtenbergLet's get this straight: Michelle Trachtenberg only plays a pot dealer on TV. If you happen to overhear the actress discussing her side job while walking down the street, know that it's only her role as college student Emma on the seventh season of 'Weeds' that she's talking about.

Emma has caused plenty of trouble for the fresh-outta-prison Nancy Botwin (Mary Louise Parker), as the two women fight over the same New York City territories for their dueling weed businesses. "Emma is probably just as ruthless as Nancy is, except without as much of the experience," Trachtenberg told AOL TV when she called us last week to discuss her 'Weeds' guest arc.

Below, the 25-year-old actress expounds on what it's like to deal drugs (fictionally, of course), hooking up with Hunter Parrish and the A-list star she's modeling her career after.

Photos of The CW's Hottest Guys. You're Welcome.

by Jean Bentley, posted Sep 9th 2011 12:00PM
The Vampire Diaries, 90210, Hart of DixieWhile The CW has made its name producing wonderfully addictive, soapy dramas, the network is also known for the incredible attractiveness of all the PYTs it casts. Think about it: Have you ever seen an un-hot person on that channel? (That's our new PC term for ugly.) The answer is no, you have not.

Therefore, in the interest of journalism -- obviously we do this for you, readers -- we perused the photo galleries on the network's press site to for photo evidence of the aforementioned hypothesis. In other words, we found the drool-worthiest snapshots of The CW's many muscle-bound men and put them in a gallery for us you to enjoy.

It's a hard job, but somebody's gotta do it. Again, you're welcome.

TCA Report: CW Exec on the Future of 'One Tree Hill,' 'Supernatural' & Superhero Shows

by Laura Prudom, posted Aug 4th 2011 2:30PM
SupernaturalNew CW president Mark Pedowitz came to the network's executive session at the Television Critics Association press tour on Thursday morning in good spirits. Bringing three new scripted shows and the promise of three new reality offerings, The CW seems optimistic that this season will be their strongest yet.

Pedowitz was on hand to assuage the fears of 'Supernatural' fans, revealing that, despite internet rumblings and rumors, the network has "no plans" for Season 7 to be the last year of the spooky drama series, revealing that he and the rest of the network's brass hope the series "keeps on going" and that they'll be examining the show's future on a season-by-season basis, depending on how the ratings hold up.

'Entourage'Have you ever continued to watch a TV show long after you knew you should've just given up on it? Don't lie. We know we're not alone.

After some particularly lackluster season finales, and a few recent underwhelming season premieres, we thought we'd share our TV grievances with you. (And, yes, they include 'Entourage,' whose final season cannot come and go soon enough for us.)

Here, the list of shows we just can't seem to quit, no matter how bad they get.

Of course, this list contains our own personal opinions about said allegedly bad shows. You might love some (or, god forbid, all) of them, but that's the fun of it. Feel free to defend the honor of any of our borderline shows, and chime in with your own why-can't-I-look-away nominations in the comments.

'Gossip Girl' Season 4, Episode 22 (Season Finale) Recap

by Laura Prudom, posted May 17th 2011 2:30AM
Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester['Gossip Girl' - 'The Wrong Goodbye']

Greetings and salutations, Upper East Siders -- it seems that 'Gossip Girl' decided to save the best for last this week, and while it looked as though the season might end with a whimper instead of a bang for a while there, those last 10 minutes more than made up for the doldrums of the preceding hour.

In true 'GG' fashion, the cliffhangers, revelations and surprises flew thick and fast, right up until the last frame, but perhaps even more importantly, Chuck did the first decent thing he's done all season (series?) and finally demonstrated the maturity that Blair's been wishing for throughout the past 22 episodes.

'Gossip Girl' Season 4, Episode 21 Recap

by Laura Prudom, posted May 10th 2011 10:20AM
Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester['Gossip Girl' - 'Shattered Bass']

It was all a case of much ado about nothing on this week's 'Gossip Girl' -- we were led to believe that a certain Basstard would hit rock bottom after his tempestuous encounter with Blair last episode, but the return of his evil Uncle Jack turned out to be more of a whimper than a bang.

Everyone else, from Nate to Prince Louis, was concerned about what Baby Bass did to Blair (inadvertently or not) but the billionaire playboy still refused to take his actions seriously, and that flippancy wasn't terribly swoonworthy -- especially when Blair had a noble prince fighting for her honor. Why do we always go for the bad boys?

'Gossip Girl' Season 4, Episode 20 Recap

by Laura Prudom, posted May 3rd 2011 4:50AM
Leighton Meester['Gossip Girl' - 'The Princesses and the Frog']

Once upon a time, in the faraway land of Upper East Side, Sleeping Beauty finally woke up and came to her senses -- it doesn't matter how many times she kisses that frog, he's just not ready to transform into Prince Charming yet. And besides, when an actual prince is buying you ballgowns and brandishing yellow diamonds, that frog starts to look a little slimy in comparison.

At last count, Blair had three eligible bachelors in love with her. No wonder Serena was jealous: Those kinds of odds used to be solely reserved for our leggy blonde, and a woman scorned is far more formidable when said woman knows how to use Gossip Girl.

Still, while S. had every right to be miffed about Blair and Dan's kiss, petty isn't a flattering color on any palette, and despite their previous showdowns, it seemed almost uncharacteristic for her to go to such lengths to sabotage her BFF. As Eric observed, acting like Blair never actually works for anyone except Blair.
