The 4400: Graduation Day
(S03E06) Last week there were arguments. I said the wrapup was too neat. Some of you said no, I just didn't get it -- there was complexity. Things might not be as they seemed. And I'm happy to ring the bell of correct-ness. Ding ding ding! az1324 called it: Matthew was sent back from the future to work for the "other side." Whatever the other side, is.
Indeed, much to my delight we're given ever more conundrums in The 4400. It does seem as if Isabelle has redressed her "angel of death" moniker, although she is causing quite a bit of murder and mayhem as she turns the gifts of the Nova Group members against them. Perhaps we should replace the "of death" in her title, in fact, with "avenging."
Add Alana -- who through her work with students in the 4400 school, finds the man who killed her first husband and son -- to the list of AA members. And when we're talking 4400, AA stands for Avenging Angel.
Conan gives high school commencement speech
Every high school graduation speech is exactly the same chain of cliches and navel-gazing pabulum. This is why Conan O'Brien should deliver every commencement speech at every high school in the nation. He'd have to do some kind of molecular split in order to accomplish this, but I think it would be worth the scientific and ethical risks. Recently he gave the commencement speech at Stuybesant High School, and you can watch both parts here and here. There's plenty of Conan's signature humor, but he also offers some sage advice to the students, all of which are at that point when they feel they must have their entire life planned out right now. A truly great speech, and for you readers who are getting ready to graduate high school, I recommend you check it out.
Thanks to Tucker for the link.
Free Marissa: Sign the petition
When new episodes of The O.C. return this Thursday (now at 9 pm on FOX), the gang is going to launch a
campaign to get Marissa Cooper back into Harbor High in time for graduation. Let's just say that public school hasn't
been all that good to her. I'm not sure exactly how she's supposed to pay for private school, but has money ever been
an issue in The O.C.? Anyway, FOX wants viewers to feel like they're helping with the caper to get Marissa
back in school, so it has launched an online petition: Free Marissa. I
kid you not.TV Squad Hot Topics
