Sarah Palin: 'I Need NOW's Defense Like a Fish Needs a Bicycle' (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Mar 24th 2011 4:00PM
Last week, Bill Maher insulted Sarah Palin by likening her to a vulgar word for a part of the female anatomy. The National Organization of Women (NOW) issued a statement condemning Maher's language, however some believe the statement was a bit half-hearted.Palin was 'On the Record With Greta Van Susteren' (weekdays, 10 PM ET on Fox News) where she addressed Maher's slur and NOW's reaction.
"Others want to bring more light to it and demand that Bill Maher apologize or that NOW defend me for something that was said about me -- by the way, I need NOW's defense like a fish needs a bicycle," Palin said.
Bristol Palin: 'I Don't Pay Much Attention' to 'Dancing With the Stars' Controversy (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Nov 22nd 2010 5:35PM
Bristol Palin has certainly been a lightning rod for controversy on this season of 'Dancing with the Stars.' Last week, she advanced to the finals ahead of Brandy, who was eliminated the night after notching a perfect score on the tango. The twenty-year-old sat down with Greta van Susteren (weekdays, 10 PM ET on Fox News) -- long the go-to media outlet of the Palin family -- and discussed how she deals with all the controversies that have surrounded her improbably long run on 'DWTS.'
"I don't pay much attention to whatever is being thrown around out there," Bristol told Greta. "I'm more focused on doing well each week, more focused on learning these dances than the controversy that's surrounding us."
Bristol's laid back attitude toward all the haters is a direct contrast to her mother Sarah, who's been known to respond in hair-Twitter fashion to even the most minuscule of perceived slights.
Presidential Hopeful Tim Pawlenty Quotes Randy Moss (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Nov 12th 2010 7:16PM
Soon to be former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty ended his 'On the Record with Greta Van Susteren' (Weeknights, 10 P ET on Fox News) interview by quoting two-time former Minnesota Viking Randy Moss."We'll be looking to see what happens in the vote count, as well as what goes on Florida in the health care lawsuit, thank you sir," Greta said, referencing the yet-to-be declared Minnesota governors race that could keep Pawlenty, who didn't run for a third term, in the state house after his second term expires.
"You're welcome," Pawlenty replied. "And as Randy Moss would say 'that's it homie.'"
Despite his low national name recognition, Pawlenty is expected to seek the GOP nomination for president in 2012. We're not sure being known as the guy who quotes Randy Moss is going to convince the folks he's of presidential timber
Greta Van Susteren Cross-Examines Gloria Allred About the Meg Whitman Housekeeper Controversy (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Oct 4th 2010 3:26PM
Whether on not Meg Whitman knew that her longtime housekeeper was an illegal immigrant has become a crucial issue in her race against Jerry Brown for California governor. Camera-happy attorney Gloria Allred, who brought former Whitman maid Nicky Diaz into the public spotlight, appeared on 'On The Record With Greta Van Susteren' (weekdays, 10 PM ET on Fox News) and tried to make the case that Whitman was aware of Diaz's undocumented status.
Not only did Van Susteren, who is also a lawyer, disagree with Allred's argument, but she made the case that the evidence Allred was citing proved the exact opposite of what Allred was claiming it proved.
"This is almost delusional . . . this is where you'd get barbecued in court," Van Susteren explained to Allred, waving a copy of a letter from the Social Security Administration to the Whitman family that questioned the social security number Diaz had provided them. "It has (Whitman's) husband's handwriting on it. Her handwriting is not on it. And it says, 'Nicky . . . please check on this, thanks."
"This doesn't show Meg Whitman knows (that her housekeeper was undocumented.) It shows her husband was confused by it," Van Susteren concluded.
We're not lawyers, and Judge Judy wasn't available for comment, so we're not sure where about the legal points being debated here. Then again, whether or not Allred's charges would hold up in a court of law probably doesn't matter much in the court of public opinion.
Laura Bush Says The Tea Party Looks Like "Next Door Neighbors" (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Sep 23rd 2010 7:25PM
Getting Laura Bush to comment on anything remotely controversial is like trying to extract water from a rock. This trait makes her a fine former First Lady, but a fairly bland talk-show guest. So Kudus to Greta Van Susteren, who was able to get Bush to talk about the Tea Party during an interview she conducted with Mrs. Bush on 'On the Record With Greta Van Susteren' (weekdays, 9 PM ET on Fox News.)
"I think people are worried about spending, I think that's really the whole thing behind it," was how Bush explained the Tea Party movement.
Then Van Susteren started to present a point about how Tea Partiers are different from how Baby Boomers envision anti-government protesters:
"I sort of have my concept of what a typical protester is, having grown up in the sixties and early seventies," Greta explained. "And (the Tea Party) don't look like ... they sort of look like ..."
"Next door neighbors," Bush interjected, completing Van Susteren's thought. Though she neglected to mention if they look like the kind of next door neighbors you'd want to borrow a cup of sugar from, or the kind of next door neighbors who might motivate you to build a fence in your backyard.

Is the White House right about Fox News?
by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 20th 2009 5:36PM
You may have heard that the White House seems to have declared war on Fox News. President Obama has even gone as far as not appearing on one of the Fox News Sunday morning shows even though he appeared on every other network that morning. Now other White House spokespeople are openly saying that the network can't be trusted. What do you think?
| Yes. The network is clearly biased. | |
|---|---|
| No way. They're a serious news network. | |
| Kinda. Maybe about the prime time shows but the news really is fair and balanced. |
