30 Rock's Grizz needs a kidney transplant

by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 14th 2009 5:10PM
GrizzFans of 30 Rock may have noticed that Grizzwald Chapman, who plays Tracy Jordan's co-hort Grizz, had lost some weight this season. That's because he has severe hypertension and needs to lose 75 pounds before doctors will consider him for a kidney transplant, which he desperately needs (he's 6 feet 11 but weighs 378 pounds). He has ignored his high blood pressure for many years and now goes through dialysis three times a week. He might even have to wait as long as five years to get a new kidney.

On tomorrow's Dr. Oz Show, Chapman appears (along with Kevin Brown, who plays DotCom on 30 Rock) to talk about his trouble. He has use of only 5% of his kidney right now. Oz is going to help Chapman stay healthy until a kidney becomes available.

Here's hoping he gets on the right track and everything turns out OK.

Review: 30 Rock - Audition Day

30 Rock
(S04E04) "That's what I'm talking about, empathy. It's about as useless as the Winter Olympics. This February on NBC." - Jack

Could this be the end of the "new TGS cast member" storyline on 30 Rock this season? Will the robot guy work out well or will he turn out to be a nightmare and Liz will have to find a replacement for him? I'm curious to see if this ends the storyline and they just use robot guy as a visual joke for the rest of the season, the cast member who is always in metallic makeup and never says a word. Or maybe he'll turn out to be someone brilliant and that will mean more jealousy and paranoia for Jenna and/or Tracy. I guess we'll have to wait and see where they go with it.

30 Rock: Jack Gets In The Game

Tina Fey and Jane Krakowski(S02E02) "Hey Banks, what are you doing in town...drawn to the phallic nature of our skyline?"

OK everyone, before we even start the review, head on over to the NBC store and order your "Me Want Food!" T-shirts! It's the new phrase everyone will be talking about tomorrow morning at your office. The offices that watch 30 Rock, that is.

I saw the little ad at the bottom of the screen and I had no idea what the hell it was until the writing guys said it as Jenna's new catch phrase. I'm usually annoyed by those little ads but this one didn't bother me.
