Dot-Marie Jones Will Roshambo for the Emmy (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 23rd 2011 4:30PM
Dot-Marie Jones on her 'Glee' Emmy nomination on 'Good Day LA'Dot-Marie Jones's Coach Beiste is perhaps the only person in the 'Glee' universe who could go toe-to-toe with Jane Lynch's Sue Sylvester. For that fortitude and charisma, she was rewarded with an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress.

Tuesday, 'Good Day LA' (weekdays, 9AM PT on FOX) anchor Tony McEwing got a glimpse of how intimidating Jones can be when he mispronounced her character's name (it's pronounced like "beast," but McEwing said "beasty").

McEwing immediately apologized, and asked her to be gentle. "I'm always gentle," she said, "for a minute." He also noticed she had a broken foot. "I broke a bone because somebody wasn't gentle, Tony," said Jones.

Gwyneth Paltrow Shows Off Rap Skills on 'The Graham Norton Show' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 20th 2011 5:30AM
Gwyneth Paltrow, 'The Graham Norton Show'Gwyneth Paltrow has long proven herself as a so-called "double threat" in the entertainment industry. She's endeared herself as a singer to a whole new generation with her turn as Holly Holiday on 'Glee,' featuring on several hit tracks for the musical series.

Now, thanks to her turn on 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM ET on BBC America), we can add hardcore ganster rapper to her repertoire.

Graham Norton tried to stump her on '90s hip-hop, but he didn't go very obscure with it. Paltrow immediately identified 'Straight Outta Compton' as the groundbreaking debut album by N.W.A.

More impressively, though, she knew the lyrics to the title track, though she did clarify: "There's one word I can't say." The rest, Norton assured us, could be censored.

Gwyneth Paltrow, 'Chelsea Handler'Chelsea Handler and Gwyneth Paltrow are now sisters of war. Sure, it was a domestic war, but both of them suffered under the wrath of a German grandmother nicknamed 'Mutti.' They shared their battle scars on 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!).

"My Mutti was a real b****," Handler said.

"My Mutti was a real ****," Paltrow followed, selecting a much harsher expletive.

"I don't know what it is about that name, but they should stop giving it to people," Handler said.

Gwyneth Paltrow Talks Plans for Recording an Album on 'Ellen' (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Apr 22nd 2011 10:00AM
Gwyneth Paltrow stopped by 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' (weekdays, syndicated) and discussed the possibility of making an album. According to Paltrow, she hasn't signed a recording contract yet, but she's seriously considering it. She just needs to work up the courage first, though.

"I kind of have to get my head around the concept of it and how I would want to do it," she said. "All the singing I've been doing has been coming out of 'Country Strong' or 'Glee.' So, I sort of think, 'Well, how would I do that, just a record by myself?' It feels a little scary to me, but I would like to in theory. We'll see."

'Glee' Season 2, Episode 17 Recap

by Joel Keller, posted Apr 20th 2011 12:16AM
'Glee' - 'A Night of Neglect'
['Glee' - 'A Night of Neglect']

It's amazing what happens when Ryan Murphy and company decide to restrain themselves for a week and just go back to some good old-fashioned storytelling, isn't it?

Sure, Gwyneth Paltrow was back again as Holly Holiday, but it wasn't a big deal. There were no big song-and-dance numbers; everyone, including Mike Chang, had a solo. We got to see Terri Schuester for the first time in what seems like forever. And Sue was merely scheming and evil instead of violent and abusive.

I've come to accept that not all episodes of 'Glee' can be like this. In what has become an exhausting season, it's pretty much a given that maybe only a third of the episodes aren't going to be either some sort of big event or center around the music of a particular artist. So I've come to appreciate the less flashy episodes when they come around. And this one was a good one.

Gwyneth Paltrow: Apple Has Developed Dual British and American Personalities (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 13th 2011 1:30PM
Gwyneth Paltrow on 'Live With Regis and Kelly'Gwyneth Paltrow's two children were born in America, but the family now lives in London. Paltrow said on 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, syndicated) this intercontinental lifestyle has caused Apple to developed two separate identities.

"My daughter has two, worryingly, very distinct personalities," said Paltrow. "One is American and one is British." When Apple's at home with the family, she uses her American voice, but when her friends come over, the British accent comes out and Paltrow becomes "mummy."

There are two ways this can go, Paltrow and Kelly Ripa joked. Either Apple will switch the pattern and use her British voice with her American friends when she's a teenager, or as Paltrow quipped, maybe her dueling identities will just result in a nervous breakdown.

Glee, Gwyneth PaltrowThe latest 'Glee' soundtrack, 'Glee: The Music, Volume 5,' doesn't come out until Tuesday, but our friends at AOL Music are streaming the album in its entirety right now.

You've already heard most of the tracks, which all come from the post–Super Bowl episode and beyond. That means plenty of Michael Jackson (the 'Thriller'/'Heads Will Roll' mashup, 'PYT'), Justin Bieber ('Baby,' 'Somebody to Love'), 'Fat Bottomed Girls,' 'Firework' and 'Sing.'

Conspicuously absent: any trace of the Dalton Academy Warblers beyond Blaine and Rachel's duet of 'Don't You Want Me.' Where's 'Silly Love Song'?!

Gwyneth Paltrow Resolves 'Glee' / Kings of Leon Feud, January Jones Talks 'Mad Men' and More

by Jean Bentley, posted Feb 17th 2011 1:10PM
Gwyneth PaltrowThe Kings of Leon and Ryan Murphy have resolved their feud in the form of an unlikely peacemaker: Gwyneth Paltrow.

The actress, who starred in Murphy's 2006 film 'Running With Scissors,' took it upon herself to patch things up between the feuding parties -- via text message, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

After the band said they wouldn't license their music to 'Glee,' Murphy, uh, quoted the lyrics to the non-censored version of Cee Lo's 'Forget You.' The band insisted it often turns down such requests and it wasn't meant as an insult to the show, but drummer Nathan Followill got into a war of words with Murphy on Twitter.

According to THR's source, though, after Paltrow's intervention "it's all good now."
