Sneak Previews: The CW Fall Shows

by Jean Bentley, posted May 19th 2011 2:20PM
Sarah Michelle Gellar, RingerOne of the new TV season's most intriguing series will air on an unlikely network come fall -- the Sarah Michelle Gellar comeback vehicle 'Ringer' is nothing like The CW has ever shown before. And that's a good thing.

Originally produced for CBS, the mystery/drama looks much more serious and adult than any other CW series -- it'll be interesting to watch if the network's traditionally younger viewers will tune in.

Also intriguing is the Kevin Williamson-produced 'Secret Circle,' about a teen girl who moves to a new town and discovers she's a witch. Though it doesn't take place in the 'Vampire Diaries' world, it's the perfect companion show for Williamson's other hit on Thursday nights.

'Hart of Dixie,' from 'Gossip Girl' producer Josh Schwartz, is a more fun, heartwarming addition to the schedule on Monday nights. Watch clips from all three new dramas, plus a few of The CW's new reality series, after the jump.

Sarah Michelle Gellar, The CWThe CW's fall schedule will officially be filled with familiar faces.

The network has picked up three new series, 'The Secret Circle,' 'Hart of Dixie' and 'The Ringer,' all starring leading ladies we've seen on network TV before.

'The Ringer' marks Sarah Michelle Gellar's return to the small screen
in a dual role as a rich woman running from the mob and her troubled twin sister. The actress formerly known as Buffy the Vampire Slayer appeared on The WB from 1997 to 2001 and UPN from 2001 to 2003, coincidentally those two networks merged to become The CW in 2006. The new pilot was originally commissioned by CBS, but in an interesting twist ended up getting picked up by its sister network.

by Chris Harnick, posted Feb 2nd 2011 5:00PM
The CWA buddy legal drama starring a former angel? Just what the doctor The CW ordered!

But wait, it gets better: The CW has filled its pilot slate with shows featuring zombies, cops and doctors. Add those to the current roster of spies, vampires, angsty rich kids, angsty 20-somethings and cheerleaders (also angsty), and it could be quite a lineup, huh? There's no other network out there with that much variety.

Let's take a look at the potential new shows.
