Hot Video: 'Hawthorne' Interview With Jada Pinkett Smith
by Maggie Furlong, posted Jul 28th 2009 6:00AM
My set visit to TNT's 'Hawthorne' was not your typical tour of a soundstage -- the show actually shoots at an old abandoned hospital in South Los Angeles. And, yes, before you ask, it was more than a little creepy. But when you visit the set of a medical drama, what better place to conduct interviews than an old emergency room? That's exactly where I sat down with the show's star Jada Pinkett Smith at the fictitious Richmond Trinity Hospital. Her stories about hubby Will Smith and son Jaden filming his new movie, 'Kung Fu Kid,' with Jackie Chan -- made me forget all about our (quite possibly haunted) surroundings.
Watch to see what else Jada dished about her "off the hook" character, Christina Hawthorne, and what to expect from the rest of the first season. -- By Maggie Furlong

Hawthorne: Pilot (series premiere)
by Michael Pascua, posted Jun 17th 2009 12:20AM
(S01E01) I often get complaints from my registered nurse parents about the inaccuracy of hospital drama shows. Don't even get me started on how much my mother hates Grey's Anatomy. I came to Hawthorne with hesitation: can the show balance the drama with the medical cases? I was surprised how well the show balanced meetings, patients, and outlying drama. Anyone else think that Jada Pinkett Smith deserves a better career than she's gotten? Her IMDB page screams regrettable movies that didn't showcase her acting skills. I loved watching her in Hawthorne and truly think she can handle Oscar-caliber roles.

Michael Vartan Q&A for 'HawthoRNe'
by Kim Potts, posted Jun 15th 2009 6:00AM
He's been a spy guy in 'Alias,' a hottie English teacher in 'Never Been Kissed,' a corporate honcho in 'Big Shots' ... and now Michael Vartan's a doctor -- well, he plays one on TV -- in TNT's new drama 'HawthoRNe' (premieres June 16, 9PM ET). The French-born Vartan talks to AOL TV about his new TV gig, his history of working with top-notch leading ladies (including 'Alias' co-star and onetime real-life girlfriend Jennifer Garner) and about how he prefers his women in workout gear rather than evening gowns.

It's amazing how many new shows are on during the summer now. Who needs the outdoors? Let us know which show you're most looking forward to watching this summer (I didn't include shows that have already premiered, such as Burn Notice, So You Think You Can Dance, and The Listener). A poll can only be so long, so if you're show isn't listed let us know in the comments.

Hey, TNT and TBS have new shows coming too
by Bob Sassone, posted May 21st 2009 3:25PM
With all this news from ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, and The CW about their new fall schedules, we can't forget what's happening on cable. TNT and TBS have announced some new shows of their own. Some might say that these shows are even more promising than what the other networks have to offer this fall. In fact, one of them has me more excited than Richard Simmons in a tank top factory.Besides returning shows like The Closer (June 8), Raising The Bar (June 8), Saving Grace (June 16), and Leverage (July 15), TNT also has the following new shows.
TNT putting together a network-killing summer schedule
by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 30th 2009 9:30AM

When the networks go into summer hibernation, it's time for the cable networks to come out and play. While they've been making inroads with fall and spring original programming, most cable networks stick to the summer frame where competition is light and they put up huge numbers that NBC would envy. TNT added a few shows to achieve a three-night schedule of original programming this summer, bringing it closer and closer to full network programming levels. And TNT knows a thing or two about massive ratings hits.
They're coupling smash hit The Closer at 9 PM ET with Raising the Bar at 10 on Mondays starting June 8. Bar launched huge and secured a renewal before everyone realized what a huge steaming pile of crap it was. So now it's got the cushiest timeslot on the network to try and win back all the viewers it pissed away. Let's hope they've improved the product and Felicityed Mark Paul-Gosselaar's hair.
