by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 25th 2011 6:16AM
Cedric the Entertainer, 'Hot in Cleveland'With Elka and Fred engaged on 'Hot in Cleveland' (Wed., 10PM ET on TV Land), they sought the services of a minister, and found Cedric the Entertainer. Meanwhile, the girls got Elka so worried about her wedding that she turned into the episode's title, a 'Bridezelka.'

She even sent Joy in her place to meet with the minister. After he complimented her hair, she immediately shouted, "I want to have sex with you!"

It was the name of a song he'd recorded before he received the calling into the ministry. This set up the first of two recreations of the song in this episode.

Huey Lewis' 'Heart of Rock & Roll' Can't Take Victoria's Costume on 'Hot in Cleveland' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 18th 2011 4:15AM
Huey Lewis, 'Hot in Cleveland''Hot in Cleveland' (Wed., 10PM ET on TV Land) added a framing sequence to this episode, that actually worked pretty well. Sure, it was just a fun nod to 'Sex and the City,' but framing it with an article Melanie was writing created a nice cohesiveness to the tale.

'Sex and the City' permeated this story of hooking up in Ohio. While Melanie sought to see if she could have sex with no strings attached, Victoria is surprised by Johnny (Huey Lewis). Her entire relationship with him has been no strings attached, but after he suffers a heart attack on the front porch, he changes.

That front porch is turning into a dangerous place, between Joy shooting her son there and Rick seducing the women there, they should consider maybe never using the front door again.

Things got a little awkward in the Top 5 this week. Larry David called out a woman for a 'chat and cut.' Mike Tyson read some kids a frightening bedtime story. Snooki called The Situation creepy. We learned squirrels aren't always the cute creatures the Internet would have us believe. But 'Hot in Cleveland' made up for it with an adorable behind the-scenes-look at Betty White getting into all sorts of adorable mischief on the set. Let's get to the videos, and let us know which one you enjoyed the most in our weekly poll.

Behind-the-Scenes Look at 'Hot In Cleveland' Proves Even Betty White Can't Always Keep a Straight Face (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 11th 2011 3:30PM
Betty White getting fresh on the set of 'Hot In Cleveland' Because we can't get enough of Betty White riffing off of her naughty image, Wednesday's episode of 'Hot In Cleveland' (Wednesdays, 10PM on TV Land) provided a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the show, featuring White fondling crew members and laughing about some suggestive lines of dialogue.

This particular piece of salty dialogue called for White to say that her screen name was "Bender Over," and she lost it. With the cast assembled in directors chairs on set, Wendie Malick reminded White of that shoot. "That night when you did 'Bender Over,' you just could not hang on," she said. "You absolutely could not."

Melanie Tries to Overlook a Guy's Foot Fetish on 'Hot in Cleveland' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 4th 2011 3:46AM
'Hot in Cleveland' - 'Arch Enemies'Melanie made a vow to be a more spontaneous and open-minded version of herself after moving to Ohio on 'Hot in Cleveland' (Wed., 10PM ET on TV Land). To her credit, she hung in there longer than many of us would have been able to with her latest boyfriend, Bill.

It's one thing to have a foot fetish, but Bill took it to extremes that went beyond uncomfortable and into the realm of downright disturbing. He did take Melanie through uncomfortable first, though, when he got down on one knee in a public restaurant to give her a toe ring.

The crowd went from "Aww" to "Eww" as they realized they weren't watching a proposal. But even that embarrassment didn't push him away completely. That happened when he brought "good girl" and "bad girl" costumes for her feet. That line you crossed way back there? Yeah, we can't even see it anymore.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Plays Victoria's Daughter on 'Hot In Cleveland' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 28th 2011 6:15PM
Jennifer Love Hewitt and Betty White on 'Hot In Cleveland'Victoria (Wendie Malick) has done some things in her life she'd rather not see made public. So when her daughter Emmy (Jennifer Love Hewitt, appearing in a guest role) decides to write a tell-all book, she has to think quickly to convince her not to, and enlists Elka (Betty White) to play Emmy's old nanny and talk some sense into her. That was the plot for this week's 'Hot In Cleveland' (Wednesdays, 10PM on TV Land), which also involved bad accents and Indians tickets.

"Just like your book, it could make everyone feel sorry for your mum and ... and she gets all the attention," Elka told Emmy. The bad Irish accent is because Emmy's old nanny was Irish, and Elka was trying to play the part. She did it well enough to convince Emmy to change her mind, and she declared she would cancel the book deal. And the movie deal, the one where the producers wanted Emmy and Victoria to play themselves.

Doris Roberts Gets Punched by Betty White on 'Hot in Cleveland' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 21st 2011 6:45AM
'Hot in Cleveland'It was an emotional roller coaster when Elka (Betty White) ran into her former best friend Lydia, played by Doris Roberts, on 'Hot in Cleveland' (Wed., 10PM ET on TV Land).

Their friendship had ended when Elka caught Lydia in a tent with her husband. So when she saw her old friend, she did what anyone would do. She knocked her out with a hard right hook.

Lydia tried to explain that it was a misunderstanding, and that Elka's husband was only warming her because of frostbite. It was pretty convincing when she showed her three-toed foot, but it turned out to still be a fantasy.

Still, it wasn't all bad. When Lydia's son showed up, Elka saw so much of her deceased husband in him. So much that despite her anger at Lydia, she couldn't bring herself to tell the truth to the son her husband had with her best friend. She simply enjoyed the chance to look into her husband's eyes again.

Elka Gives Victoria Pointers on Acting Old on 'Hot in Cleveland' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 14th 2011 6:02AM
'Hot in Cleveland' - 'Love Thy Neighbor'For probably the first time in her entire life, Victoria Chase wanted to be older on 'Hot in Cleveland' (Wed., 10PM ET on TV Land). She was trying for the lead part in a local production of 'Driving Miss Daisy,' but the director said she was too young for the part.

Not to be outdone, Victoria decided to prove it to him by going deep into character as an old person, and she tapped Elka to help her get the nuances right.

"Good speed," Elka said as Victoria slowly shuffled into the room in her track suit, thick glasses and white wig. "Now feel the lack of burn."

The Ladies Enter a Battle of the Bands Contest on 'Hot in Cleveland' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 7th 2011 3:46AM
Betty White, 'Hot in Cleveland'With Melanie's bucket-list book being expanded into a column for a magazine, the girls decided to enter a Battle of the Bands contest on 'Hot in Cleveland' (Wed., 10PM ET on TV Land). Unfortunately, as happens with so many great bands, infighting led to them breaking up before the gig.

That left Joy vulnerable to Rick's advances toward getting her to join his band. The problem for the ladies is that Joy was the only one who could sing. So when competition time came, and Rick ratted out their attempts to use autotune, they were left vulnerable ... and frankly, rather awful-sounding.

"What they need is a singer," Rick laughed. But Joy turned the tables on him and joined her friends on stage to save the day. This is a "classic" sitcom after all. How did you expect it to end?

The Girls Get a Shocking Late Night Visitor on 'Hot in Cleveland' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 23rd 2011 10:10AM
'Hot in Cleveland'The women of 'Hot in Cleveland' (Wed., 10PM ET on TV Land) were terrified that an ex-con was coming to get them, so when they heard a noise outside in the middle of the night, they expected the worst.

Luckily, Melanie was prepared with her ... sunscreen? Well at least Elka was packing heat, as if you'd expect anything less. Her "Polish pellet gun" looked more like something you'd take down an elephant with, but at least it was harmless, right?

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

Not so fast, as it went off when Joy threw it on the couch, firing through the window and inadvertantly hitting their late night prowler. To make matters worse for Joy, it wasn't an ex-con or any other sort of prowler that you wouldn't feel so bad about shooting accidentally.

'Cheers' Star George Wendt Goes Amish on 'Hot in Cleveland' (VIDEO)

george wendt, hot in clevelandAnother star of sitcoms past, 'Cheers' alum George Wendt, popped up for a quick drink on the return of 'Hot in Cleveland' (Wed., 10PM ET on TV Land).

Playing an Amish version of his beloved 'Cheers' stool jockey, Norm, Wendt did what he does best -- he strolled over to the bar, tossed back a few drinks, and knocked a few one-liners out of the park.

The episode saw the 'HiC' gals searching for Elka (Betty White), who Victoria (Wendie Malick) found in the unlikeliest of places after a rough night in Ohio's Amish Country.

'Hot in Cleveland' Actresses Talk Small Towns and Self-Image on 'The View' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 15th 2011 3:25PM
Barbara Walters, Wendie Malick, Jane Leeves, and Valerie Bertinelli of 'Hot In Cleveland' on 'The View'Can moving to a smaller town help improve your self-image? It sounds like a topic for an NPR talk show, but it was part of the discussion Wednesday on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) with the non-Betty White cast of 'Hot In Cleveland': Wendie Malick, Jane Leeves, and Valerie Bertinelli. For the uninitiated, 'Cleveland' is about three women who move to Cleveland to avoid the shallowness and emphasis on youth in Los Angeles.

"When I go home to my little village, I feel very glamorous," said Leeves. "And then sometimes I'll walk out in Los Angeles thinking, 'I'm looking good today.' Then you're out five minutes and you see all these gorgeous 20-year-olds."

Valerie Bertinelli & Wendie Malick Talk 'Hot In Cleveland,' Dream Guest Stars

Valerie Bertinelli, Wendie MalickWhen you assemble a dream team of actresses like Wendie Malick, Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Betty White -- a.k.a. the ladies on 'Hot In Cleveland' -- it seems like it'd be hard not to have fun.

The TV Land sitcom returns with new episodes (Wed., June 15, 10PM ET on TV Land) just in time to heat up the summer. But what's going to happen?

Malick and Bertinelli were mum on specifics at Monday night's premiere party in New York, but they did let some details slip.

"Let me put it this way," Bertinelli told AOL TV. "Wednesday night: Amish bar. That's what I can tell you. Insane! It's like, 'What the heck are we doing in an Amish bar!?'"

Betty White Previews New 'Hot In Cleveland' Season, Will Hit on 'Almost Anybody' (VIDEO)

Betty White on 'Good Morning America'Betty White stopped by 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM on ABC) to preview the new season of 'Hot In Cleveland,' and got a little dreamy-eyed talking about some of the upcoming guest stars, especially John Mahoney. She also mentioned that Don Rickles and Carl Reiner will be making guest appearances, prompting host Robin Roberts to call her a name-dropper. "I know what's good for me," joked White.

Roberts couldn't help but bring up the last time White was on 'GMA,' when she was hitting on host George Stephanopoulos. "Oh, yeah, I'll hit on almost anybody," said White. "Maybe even Don Rickles."

White also mentioned that 'Cleveland' will visit Amish country in one episode, which features White's character Elka on the lam, using only her flirting skills to stay one step ahead of the law.
