Elisabeth Hasselbeck returns to The View on Monday

by Bob Sassone, posted Jan 3rd 2008 4:25PM

HasselbeckView co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck is coming back to the ABC show on Monday with her new son Taylor Thomas, who I believe used to star on Home Improvement.

Hasselbeck has been on maternity leave since October and has been living in Arizona (her hubby Tim is a quarterback with the Arizona Cardinals, who didn't make the playoffs). The daytime show has been using a lot of celebrity guests to fill in Hasselbeck's seat (and/or Barbara Walters' seat, when she takes the day off from the show) including Dana Delany and Jessica Simpson (and many others, but they were the cohosts on the days I actually watched the show). This will be the first time all five hosts will be back together in a few months.

Nancy Grace to take over for Rosie on The View?

by Bob Sassone, posted May 11th 2007 3:42PM

Nancy GraceIf you needed yet another reason not to watch The View, this might be it.

Sources inside Court TV are saying that one of the reasons why Nancy Grace has decided to leave Court TV (besides the fact that they are changing their name and what they cover) is that she really wants to host the ABC morning show, and couldn't seriously discuss terms with ABC while she was still under contract.

Um...wow. Nancy Grace hosting The View. How could that happen? Does she even have a light touch that she can use on the show? Can she even interview anyone about something non-controversial without making them feel bad?

Imagine the field day SNL could have with this.

Rosie shopping around her own View?

RosieThat's what Broadcasting & Cable is reporting, citing industry sources. The sources say that Rosie O'Donnell's agent is shopping around a show that's a lot like The View, a show with a panel, talking about current events, with a guest host each week.

Of course, the same sources say that Rosie might do many things, including hosting her own syndicated talk show again. Rosie hinted recently that she would be doing something with a company with initials, and that could mean CBS, including appearances on The Early Show. Though I wonder how that would affect her appearances on The View, since she said she's not going away completely and will be a guest once in a while.
