It's National Hug Day -- Let's Hug It Out, Bitch
Ari Gold became an iconic TV character from the first foul-mouthed insults he ever uttered on 'Entourage.' But perhaps his most memorable moment came with coulda-been sweet peace offering, "Let's hug it out, bitch."Since today's National Hug Day (according to this awesomely primitive website), after the jump you'll find a clip of Piven discussing the scene during a 2006 Paley Center panel. "Our inspiration, Ari, for this character, I saw him one time actually hugging my brother in law, Adam McKay, who's a screenwriter and director. He was hugging him so tightly it looked like Adam was maybe lactating and that Ari needed milk."
There's also a clip of infamous scene. You're welcome. And yes, we'll accept your gratitude for reminding you of this glorious TV milestone in hug form only.
Don't forget! The Sopranos and Entourage return tonight
OK, so no one has to be told that the final season of The Sopranos starts tonight at 9pm on HBO. After all, there have been tons of news stories about it, if you haven't heard (there might be a spoiler or two at some of those links). But don't forget that Entourage also returns tonight, immediately following The Sopranos at 10pm.
Remember when April and May used to mean the season was winding down on all of the networks? Now here it is Easter and the cable networks are just warming up. Everyone seems to be waiting for Tony and company to come back, but I'm more excited about Entourage. When we last left our heroes, Vince had ended his relationship with agent Ari, so it's going to be interesting to see where they go with the storyline.
Thanks for the Easter candy, HBO!
Cusack no longer part of Piven's entourage?
I thought that this would be the Hollywood relationship that would last.
You can have your TomKats, your Brangelinas, your Bennifers, your Vaughnistons. The couple that I thought would be together forever was Pivack. Wait, that sounds like a character from Star Trek. How about Cuven? God, that sounds like a cholesterol medication.
I'm talking about the longtime friendship between John Cusack and Entourage star Jeremy Piven. In a new interview in Best Life magazine, Piven hints that the friendship is over, and hints even harder that it's because Cusack was jealous of Piven's success. Or could it be because Piven changed after his success? Who knows.
This is sad. These two have been friends since they were kids and starred in many movies together, including Grosse Point Blank, One Crazy Summer, Runaway Jury, The Grifters, and Say Anything.
Maybe these two just need to hug it out? (And yes, I'm sure that line will be used by every single person who writes about this story.)
