I Was an Extra on 'Law & Order: SVU'

by Chris Harnick, posted Oct 19th 2011 2:30PM
It's a rainy Friday afternoon in late September and I'm in The Crazy Horse Cabaret, a strip club in the Bronx. To my left is a man dressed like a bloody doctor, to my right is a taller gentleman dressed as a caveman.

We're not speaking, although it looks like we're deep in conversation. The doctor orders shots from the bartender. I'm handed a glass, but the clear liquid is not vodka; I'm doing a shot of water. Don't feel sorry for me though -- we're on set of the 'Law & Order: SVU' Halloween episode.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

I got to experience the magic of TV firsthand as a background actor on the long-running NBC crime drama to get even more insight into how the show gets made, plus some time with the stars for one-on-one interviews.

Ice-T Talks About Taking on Jury Duty in Real Life, on 'Late Night' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 11th 2011 5:30AM
Ice-T, 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'Ice-T may play on a show involving the police and courtrooms, but in his regular life he'd just as well never have anything to do with either of them. But when you get a summons for jury duty, "you don't play with that," he said on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC).

So he showed up to do his civic duty. But after six to seven hours in the courthouse, he was asked to leave because everyone was getting their pictures taken with him.

Then they brought up another good point. If you're on trial and you see Ice-T, star of 'Law & Order: SVU,' you might start to wonder if what's happening is real or a gimmick for the show.

Ice-T Gets Emotional While Renewing His Vows on 'Ice Loves Coco' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 1st 2011 6:55AM
'Ice Loves Coco'Ice-T has spent years building a reputation as one pretty tough dude. His rap persona doesn't take crap from anyone, and he generally plays pretty tough guys in his acting roles. But we've seen a more tender side on 'Ice Loves Coco' (Sun., 10:30PM ET on E!). It's right there in the title.

She softens his heart. But even so, raw emotions are just not something we see that often coming from Ice-T. But he allowed himself to be vulnerable and spoke from the heart at the ceremony where they were renewing their vows.

Visibly choking up, which he said was a big deal in front of all those people, he told her, "You saved my life, Coco. I'm happy every day and everybody knows it's real."

Coco Excited About Her 'Licious' Clothing Line, Until Ice-T Notices 'Licous' Misspelling (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 11th 2011 12:00PM
'Ice Loves Coco'Coco Austin was all excited about the forthcoming launch of her "Licious" line of clothing on 'Ice Loves Coco' (Sun., 10:30PM ET on E!). She brought husband Ice-T to the factory so they could both see and interact with the team that's making this happen, and so she could see the clothing they're coming up with.

It's a lot of work, and Coco knows there's no "I" in team. Unfortunately, there was also no "I" on her t-shirts that were supposed to say the name of the line.

Now she has shirts saying "Licous," which doesn't make any sense. Unless you're supposed to read it literally, and the shirts are inviting people to "lick us."

With Ice's support, she started the repeats of the line "I love my shoes." But instead on the fourth repeat, she replaced the line with "I wanna f*** 'em."

Coco Austin, 'Ice Loves Coco'Most people would do anything for family, but Coco Austin's sister may have just asked for too much on the latest installment of 'Ice Loves Coco' (Sun., 10:30PM ET on E!). She caught Coco completely off-guard with the question as well.

by Catherine Lawson, posted Jun 13th 2011 7:35AM
'Ice Loves Coco' S01/E01Who knew that rapper and actor Ice-T was a 'Bridezilla' fan? But on the Series Premiere of 'Ice Loves Coco' (Sun., 10:30PM ET on E!) we found out that he's watched it many times.

We also found out that he's an old romantic at heart, telling wife Coco that he loves her for herself, not her clothes. After watching Coco modelling bridal gowns, Ice suggests that they renew their vows.

And he's not bothered by what she wears: "The gown has nothing to do with it. ... I don't really need a gown. I love you."

Wait a second: Is the normally laidback Coco really a closet Bridezilla? At the mere mention of wedding vows her eyes light up and she gets really excited that her dog can take part too: "Spartacus can wear a little tuxedo! [He] can have a little bow tie!" And that's when the Body Count frontman 'fesses up to his 'Bridezilla' watching and shoots down the suggestion in flames.

Flavor Flav Was Terrified After Rear-Ending Ice-T's Ferrari (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 1st 2011 4:24AM
Flavor Flav, 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'Certain rap artists have done such a masterful job of owning their stage persona that it slips into their personal lives, and can even impact others in their industry. That's why Flavor Flav said on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (Weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC) that he was terrified when he rear-ended Ice-T's Ferrari.

It happened years ago, long before Ice-T played a cop on television and was instead a force to be reckoned with on the mic. They were on their way to lunch at Red Lobster, when Flav got distracted in traffic. He was talking to a buddy in the backseat and assumed traffic had moved, so hit the gas without looking.

He was stunned at the time when Ice-T not only took the accident in stride, but still treated him and his friends to lunch. Oddly enough, Flav said he still has the tail light from Ice-T's car at his mother's house. Talk about an odd memento.
