Piper Perabo Injured on 'Covert Affairs' Set
by Chris Harnick, posted Aug 20th 2010 11:20AM
'Covert Affairs' star Piper Perabo was reportedly injured on the show's Toronto set. According to TMZ, Perabo injured her knee, but is receiving treatment and expected to make a full recovery. Perabo told TV Squad she does the majority of her own stunts, but not in the proper footwear.
"I did a scene where I rappel down an elevator shaft with this really hot guy, in Louboutins, and I was like, 'This is my favorite job ever!'" Perabo said during our set visit. "It's so hard to do in a pair of Louboutins, but so worth it."
Hopefully she's being comforted by the fact that the series has been renewed for a second season and reached a new ratings high of 5.4 million viewers.
Review: So You Think You Can Dance - Top 8 Perform
by Michael Pascua, posted Dec 9th 2009 3:02AM
(S06E21) This season of So You Think You Can Dance will be ending with a final six instead of a final four. I'm convinced someone messed up the schedule and they were supposed to double eliminate a couple, probably back in the Top 20. Noelle's injury didn't help the situation, and they decided to just go with a final six.We welcome the top seven contestants because Ashleigh popped out her shoulder in rehearsals and has to have an MRI scan. She won't be dancing, but she's in tears because another crippling injury may end her dancing dreams. Sadly, she would have done an amazing job with both Hip-Hop and Bollywood.
ESPN takes on NBC Sunday Night Football
by Allison Waldman, posted Sep 3rd 2008 12:24PM
For nearly 20 years, NFL football fans could feast on Sunday games and then flip on ESPN for a complete wrap up on NFL Prime Time hosted primarily by Chris "Boomer" Berman and Tom Jackson. It was a staple. Then in 2005, ESPN dropped the show. Now, it's coming back (sort of) and in addition to Boomer and Jackson, John Saunders will be rejoining them, re-creating the original troika from 1987. The essence of NFL Prime Time will be found in the 7 p.m. ET edition of SportsCenter each Sunday during football season. Essentially, they'll be doing what they did on NFL Prime Time, and in doing so, they'll be taking aim at NBC's Football Night in America, that network's lead in show for the Sunday Night Football game.
This should be really interesting because the NBC pre-game show is like Thanksgiving dinner -- loaded with stuffing. They have stars galore, including the recently added, former ESPN stalwart, Dan Patrick.
Brothers and Sisters: An American Family
by Jen Creer, posted Oct 8th 2007 9:40AM
(S02E02) My husband tells me that Heather Havrilesky has written in Salon that Brothers and Sisters is manipulative. She writes, "'Brothers & Sisters' is emotional Frogger. Luckily, I loathe these beautiful, wealthy, loving, empathetic humans and so it brings me deep joy to watch them suffer."I, however, persist in liking Brothers and Sisters, manipulation and all. That isn't to say that I don't get irritated with the show, as readers who followed my posts last year can attest. I was irritated tonight with the blatant manipulation of opening the show with a funeral, when last week's episode left us in some doubt about whether or not the youngest Walker (oops, second-to-youngest), Justin, was killed in Iraq.
