Trauma: Pilot (series premiere)
by Bob Sassone, posted Sep 29th 2009 2:35AM
(S01E01) The first question I had after watching the new NBC medical drama Trauma was this: can the show keep this up every week? You can tell a lot of money was spent on the pilot, because the first 20 minutes is like Irwin Allen: The Movie. Helicopters crash, cars explode, children are endangered. It's like those big episodes of ER where something massive happened, only this is going to be a regular thing with this show (if, as I said above, they can spend a lot of money on future episodes).
But what about the rest of the show? It's one thing to have big accidents and pyrotechnics (which are actually very impressive) but what about the cast, the writing, the stories?

Sneak Peek: NBC's Trauma
by Bob Sassone, posted May 6th 2009 11:37AM
NBC unveiled its new shows Monday (they'll reveal the full schedule on May 19), and one of the shows is a medical show. Well, actually, two of the shows are medical shows (the other is Mercy), but here's the first one. It's called Trauma, and it's set in San Francisco. Remember those special episodes of ER that had a helicopter falling on someone or a plane blowing up or a car crashing into the emergency room? This show looks like it has that stuff in every episode! But it makes more sense because these people are paramedics and not ER personnel.Eric Bogosian joins Law and Order: CI

Writer and actor Eric Bogosian is joining the cast of Law and Order: Criminal Intent. He'll take over for Jamey Sheridan (who is leaving the show) as the police captain.Bogosian is an acclaimed playwright, most famous for Talk Radio (the play and the movie), plus the plays Drinking In America, Suburbia, and Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll. Besides roles in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Ararat, and Blade: Trinity, Bogosian played the bad guy in Under Siege 2 and the nasty record exec in the short-lived Love Monkey earlier this year.
This could be an interesting casting choice. Bogosian is always good for a quirky performance, and maybe he'll spice up his own dialogue a bit.
