Madonna to Perform at Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show

NBC and the NFL announced last night that Madonna will perform at the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show.In a statement, Madonna said she's partnered with a creative team from Cirque du Soleil, choreographer Jamie King and multimedia artists from Moment Factory, "to create a signature performance for the Super Bowl's Halftime Show, which will be broadcast worldwide."
Super Bowl XLVI will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Sunday February 5. The live halftime show is the most-watched television musical event of the year: More than 162 million viewers in the U.S. watched last year's show featuring The Black Eyed Peas performing with Slash and Usher.
Annie Potts, Leslie Bibb Get Lead Roles in ABC Pilot, 'Mad Men' Vet Boards 'Grace' and More

Leslie Bibb and Annie Potts have booked leading roles in ABC's 'Good Christian Bitches' pilot.According to the Hollywood Reporter, 'Popular' alumna Bibb will play Amanda, a divorced mom of two. She moves back to her childhood neighborhood and finds herself at the center of gossip.
'Ghostbusters' veteran Potts will play Bibb's overbearing mother. Deadline reports she fielded three pilot offers and has been approached to guest star on The CW's 'Hart of Dixie.'
In other casting news ...
• Jamie King has joined the cast of The CW's 'Hart of Dixie.' King will play a debutante-type woman opposite Rachel Bilson. [Deadline]
• Stephen Tobolowsky will star opposite Minnie Driver in 'Hail Mary.' Tobolowsky will play the role of Cox in drama about a mom and hustler private investigator duo. [Hollywood Reporter]
• Christina Ricci has signed on the dotted line for 'Pan Am.' Ricci will play Maggie, a flight attendant in the sky and an earthy bohemian on the ground. [Deadline]

Recent TV cancellations have left some actors -- up-and-comers and established stars -- stranded. But there's no reason why these actors should be out of work. Primetime shows just need to follow the lead of the still-breathing soap operas, whose casting directors are picking up actors from canceled shows (Maura West moved from 'As the World Turns' to 'The Young and the Restless'; Kim Zimmer jumped on 'One Life to Live' from 'Guiding Light,' etc.)
So let's take our favorite actors from primetime shows we've lost and plug them into current hits.
VH1 Renews 'Scream Queens'

VH1 has renewed the reality show 'Scream Queens' for a second season, Variety is reporting.This time, 10 potential queens will be competing in the horror film boot camp for a role in 'Saw VII 3D,' the next installment of the sanguinary, seemingly never-ending franchise. Season 1 winner Tanedra Howard won the role of Simone in 'Saw VI.' Some of last season's more interesting challenges included: "campy 'The Brain that Wouldn't Die'-inspired Bodiless Scene," "Final girl speech in a pool of blood" and "seductive vampiress scene."
