Janet Jackson's Father Told Her to Call Him Joseph, Not Dad (VIDEO)
Janet Jackson was on 'Piers Morgan Tonight' (weekdays, 9 PM ET CNN), where she discussed struggling with her body image, self-esteem and her relationship with her father, Joseph Jackson.
Joseph was a notorious disciplinarian whom Janet didn't feel close to growing up, and she told Morgan how, as a child, she would envy her friends' relationships with their dads.
"I'd see my friend's relationship with their father, how they'd call them Dad and sit in his lap," Jackson said.
"What'd you call him?" Morgan wondered
"Joesph," Jackson answered immediately.
"One time I tried to call him Dad," she explained. "And he said, 'No, I'm Joseph. You call me Joseph. I'm Joseph to you.' When your father tells you [that] one time, you don't do it again."
Although Jackson admits she still doesn't have much of a relationship with her father, she said she knows that he loves her. She also added that despite his questionable parenting methods, she thought she and her siblings "turned out OK."

On that cover, Janet appeared naked from the waist up, with her jeans unzipped, and with a man's hands cupped around her breasts. (In case you need a quick, um, refresher as to what that looked like, the image is right here.)Host Graham Norton asked if Janet knew the man who was grabbing her breasts, or if it was "some really lucky photographer's assistant." Another boobs-related question: Did the man have good enough manners to warm up his hands before grabbing her?

It was the late 1990s and she was going on tour, taking four female dancers along, but a young Inaba was not one of them. Jackson had cut her after the audition.
"You cut me and I was devastated," Inaba told Jackson.
But, before you start sending the angry letters to Jackson take note, Inaba later went on tour with Madonna.

Court to Re-Examine Nipplegate
Just when we thought Nipplegate was behind us, a federal appeals court wants to take another peek.In 2008, the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia had thrown out a $550,000 fine that the FCC had levied against CBS for airing Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction," in which part of the singer's breast was flashed at the end of a musical performance with Justin Timberlake during 2004's Super Bowl halftime show.
Super Bowl "Nipplegate" Fine Being Reconsidered
So...let's talk about nipples. Remember when Justin Timberlake ripped off part of Janet Jackson's jacket and exposed her breast during the Super Bowl (oh, memories...)? A Federal appeals court has already thrown out the $550,000 fine judgment against CBS but now they want to "re-examine" the decision. Maybe they just like looking at the video of the nipple incident (or "nincident," if you will) over and over and over again.I've never understood why CBS got fined in the first place. It was a live sports broadcast. If you want to fine Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake or the people who made Jackson's coat, OK, go ahead. But the only way a fine against CBS is justified is if you think they knew about it ahead of time and gave the OK for it to happen. What's the basis for the fine?
(By the way, the picture above is the CBS logo, not a nipple.)
The Full Video for the 'We Are the World' Remake

The original 'We Are the World' was recorded almost exactly 25 years ago to benefit the charity, USA for Africa. Recently, 80 stars got together, including co-writer Lionel Richie and producer Quincy Jones, to remake the classic song to help with Haiti relief efforts. The video was supposed to debut last night during the Olympic opening ceremonies, but they just showed an excerpt. We have the full video here.
It's nice to see some of the same people involved in making the first video in the remake, but this version is populated by mostly new faces including Jennifer Hudson, Josh Groban, Wyclef Jean, and Kanye West, among many others. In fact, there were so many artists featured in this video, that I didn't even recognize them all. The new version is about a full minute longer than the original, and the real question is, how does it stack up?
ABC drops Adam Lambert again and again
When Adam Lambert was competing on American Idol, there were times when his performances reminded the judges -- and viewers -- of Elvis Presley. And other rock icons, too. It was all part of Adam's appeal. But now that he's promoting his new CD and did a "scandalous" performance at the American Music Awards, he's really getting the Elvis treatment. There's fear that his actions, which are more graphic than anything Elvis ever did, will go too far. Today, Adam tweeted that ABC had cancelled two more spots on the network -- his upcoming Jimmy Kimmel Live! date and a New Year's Eve performance. Adam added that nobody should blame ABC for the cancellations because it was pressure from the FCC that prompted ABC's action. So maybe we should really be blaming Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake for the infamous Super Bowl breast/costume malfunction? ABC previously dumped Adam from Good Morning America.
Janet Jackson Blames Doctor for Michael's Death on 'In the Spotlight' (VIDEO)
Janet Jackson pulled no punches in an interview with Robin Roberts last night on 'In the Spotlight' regarding her brother Michael's death and who she feels is ultimately to blame. It's alleged that Michael Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, delivered a range of drugs to the singer on June 25 when he died, including a dose of the powerful sedative propofol, which authorities believe ultimately killed him.
