Are you ready for 71 new and returning shows?

by Bob Sassone, posted Jan 5th 2009 2:31PM
The BachelorSo, the holidays are over and here we are at the beginning of a new year and a return to the TV season. No more Rudolph, no more Miracle on 34th Street, no more Santa comin' to town or anywhere else (I hear the elves don't even get a break in their work - they're already at work today getting ready for Christmas 2009). Now we have to get ready for the return of all of our favorites and some new and returning shows that haven't even come back yet. There's a lot of stuff coming this month.

But I bet you had no idea that there were 71 shows bowing this month. That's right, 71.

NBC dumps Chuck, Life, and Heroes (for January, for January!)

Life
Some fans of certain NBC shows are going to be irritated, and some fans of certain other NBC shows are going to be very happy. Which is pretty much par for the course with NBC anyway.

The Peacock Network has announced that for the month of January, Chuck, Life, and Heroes will not be seen. They'll be back in February. So you're wondering, what's going to replace these shows for the month? Some exciting new action show? A searing drama? A laugh-out-loud comedy?

Well...no.

Still more King of the Hill news

by Richard Keller, posted Nov 5th 2008 1:02PM

King of the Hill's luck continues. Now it will be appearing on Adult SwimGeez, for a show that was recently canceled there is sure a lot of news about it. First, we heard that King of the Hill was being canceled by FOX at the end of this season (though it will probably remain on the schedule through 2010 because of long-term production of episodes). Then, the lovely and talented Bob Sassone reported that the show could be picked up by ABC, who seems to be in the market for other network programs as of late. Now comes word that repeats (is that term now taboo?) of the Mike Judge series will be heading to Adult Swim's lineup.

That's right. Cartoon Network's older brother will be picking up the 11-year-old program, making it the next-to-last FOX animated series to air on its program schedule (The Simpsons would be the last, and I have no idea if it will ever make it to Adult Swim).
