America's Next Top Model: New York City, Here We Come

Dominique puling back her hair.
(S10E02) I'm still a bit shocked that Tyra went through all the trouble of opening up the competition to 14 girls this season and out of everyone she could have selected, she went with Dominique.

I mean, I admit that Dominique is a little bit exotic looking, but so were the baboons I saw the last time I went to the zoo. Umm, that came out wrong. That was horribly insulting to all the innocent baboons of the world. I take it back.

I kid, I kid. Dominique isn't that unattractive, I just don't think she was the right choice for this competition. It almost seems like the only reason she's there is so the judges can crack drag queen jokes about her all episode long.

America's Next Top Model: Welcome to Top Model Prep (season premiere)

Cycle 10 premiere.

(S10E01)
It seems like only yesterday I was making fun of the "corpse bride" Jenah's slightly crooked teeth, and Victoria's all too annoying superiority complex during cycle 9 of America's Next Top Model.

While I'll miss the crazy group of girls we had last year, I'm absolutely thrilled that I've got a whole new group of people to poke fun at with cycle 10.

Cycle 10 Models Revealed

We're more than a month away from the cycle 10 premiere of America's Next Top Model, but it's never too early to get a little taste of what the next season will bring, right?

Of course not, and that's why I'm thankful The CW was kind enough to release the names of this cycles 14 finalists and a sparse number of details about the season.

Click onward to get a brief glimpse of the 14 catty women who will bite, claw, and accost their way to a $100,000 modeling deal with CoverGirl and a six-page fashion spread in Seventeen magazine.

America's Next Top Model: The Girls Go to the Great Wall

Bianca talking trash as usual.
(S09E12) Tonight's show was a little bit on the dull side if you ask me.

There weren't a lot of laughs, the challenge was completely forgettable, and the photo shoot didn't really do anything for me either, which is surprising considering Tyra was the photographer.

I just realized that a majority of the pleasure I derived from watching the show this cycle vanished the second dear old Heather was handed her walking papers. She was truly the driving force behind most of this cycle's success and I'm bummed that she didn't make it to the final four. It definitely would have made these last two episodes more interesting, don't you agree?

America's Next Top Model: The Models Go Green

The Cycle 9 Girls

(S09E02) After 3,400 or so votes in last weeks poll the results are in, and a majority of you think Heather is going to win this competition. Chantal and Lisa were in second and third place respectively followed closely by Victoria in fourth. Sadly, Janet (my pick) is sitting in fifth place.

After watching tonight's episode, I'm willing to let you all change your mind on the whole Heather thing. Don't get me wrong, I think Heather is an attractive girl and she took a stunning photo in tonight's episode. Despite that, do you really see her as a CoverGirl spokeswoman?

America's Next Top Model: The Girls Go Cruisin' (season premiere)

Cycle 9 finalists

(S09E01) Four years, eight cycles, and countless eating disorders ago, America's Next Top Model premiered to great fanfare on the channel formerly known as UPN.

Cycle 9 premiered tonight on The CW, and although it hasn't changed all that much in eight iterations, the series doesn't seem to be showing any real signs of its age.

Aside from it being a viable excuse for me to watch 13 semi-attractive girls strut around in skimpy clothing, what is it about this show that keeps me ravenous for more? A simple answer awaits you if you'd kindly follow the jump.

America's Next Top Model: Cycle 6 Premiere

mollie baldI always have mixed feelings about the Top Model premiere. While I always look forward to a new season of Top Model, the premiere feels too long. Two hours? I think that if they wanted to trim the fat a bit, they could seriously get it down to a hour and a half...at least. In fact, they should just get rid of that first hour all together. I don't care about the girls who get cut before making it to the house. I always think I care about them, but as soon as they are cut, I forget they exist.

Speaking of the house...

Sneak peek at the new season of Top Model

by Lacy Hall, posted Mar 1st 2006 10:31AM
model logoThe new season of America's Next Top Model is just a week away, and I got to sit in on an online press conference with Jay Manuel, Nigel Barker and Ken Mok (Executive Producer). But before we get into the new stuff, let's settle some old business. Namely, the great mystery of who ate Bre's granola bars. While nobody on the panel had any evidence (i.e. video footage), Ken Mok nabbed Jayla as the culprit. He wouldn't divulge details, but he said that because of "her previous behavior" producers think it was her who stole Bre's granola bars. I remember a few of you readers had Jayla pegged as the culprit too. I just wonder what Ken meant by "her previous behavior." Did she steal more than just granola? And what are we talking about here -- like camera equipment or tampons? I need details, Mr. Mok, in order to gauge her level of thievery. You just can't trust those home schooled kids. I know I never leave my granola laying about when one is around.
