Jesse James appeared for an interview on 'Nightline' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on ABC) -- and on the show, he discussed the scandal involving him and his wife Sandra Bullock. Well, actually, it's his soon-to-be-former-wife Sandra Bullock, because it's now been a month since she announced that she was getting a divorce from James.

During the interview, James tried to explain away some of the damage that he has done by having an affair with Michelle "Bombshell" McGee -- as well as several other ladies. But then, he just sort of ended up crying on camera. Gosh, dude. Either be a tough biker guy or don't. Cheat on your wife or don't. But crying about it doesn't really seem to help matters.

James admitted that he was "the most-hated man in the world," He told a rambling story about his childhood that was somehow meant to explain his bad behavior -- then, he dissolved into tears.

Betty White has lived a lot of years and weathered a few storms along the way. So we should probably listen to her wise words about pal Sandra Bullock's marital woes.

"We're all deeply, deeply saddened," White said on 'Entertainment Tonight' (weekdays, syndicated). "At such a high point in her life, it's tough ... I love her with all my heart. That's one of the greatest human beings on the planet ... but the less other people have to say about it and let her work it out ... the better."

Will the tabloids leave it alone? No, but the best we can hope is to give Bullock and husband Jesse James space to deal with things on their own.

As for her thoughts, Bullock says, "There's so many different ways to cheat ... I think it's sometimes far worse to emotionally cheat." Look for that interview on 'Entertainment Tonight' tomorrow.

The wreckage of Jesse James' infidelity continues to float into shore, as more info was revealed on 'The Insider' (weekdays, 7:30PM ET on CBS).

Shane Modica, ex-husband of Michelle "Bombshell" McGee, the woman who allegedly slept with Jesse James, has a few thoughts on the affair. "I know how she works, and it was either end up with Jesse and live that lifestyle and still have the money and the fame," said Modica. "Or she was gonna make money off this one way or another. This is her payday."

However it plays out, we still feel awful for Sandra Bullock.
