Stephen Colbert vs. Jimmie Johnson in Office Chair Race (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 6th 2011 4:00AM
Jimmie Johnson, 'The Colbert Report'After a perfectly lovely interview with five-time Sprint Cup winning NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson, Stephen Colbert got down to what really mattered on 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central). He challenged Johnson to a race.

And none of that namby-pamby racing in cars for this race. Nor would it be a foot race. Instead, it was to be a simple two lap circuit around the raised interview platform ... in their rolling office chairs. 'Breaking In' - 'Need for Speed'Desperate to impress his boss and prove himself worthy of field work on 'Breaking In' (Wed., 9:30PM ET on FOX), Cameron immediately proceeded to make a fool of himself with the very next client.

When he went into the conference room to meet the guy, he first failed to recognize NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson. When Johnson said he was a driver, Cameron assumed he meant a limo driver, dismissed him completely and then insulted NASCAR.

"How much do you know about NASCAR?" Johnson asked him.

"You mean the one where the guys with the mullets drive around in a circle and call it a sport?" Cameron said. "Not a fan, why do you ask?"

Jimmy Fallon Battles NASCAR Champ Jimmie Johnson -- in a Tricycle RaceJimmie Johnson is on track to become the greatest race car driver in history. He's the first man to win five consecutive NASCAR championships. He's the first driver to be named Athlete of the Year by the Associated Press. Even his nickname is pretty imposing. He's simply called "Superman."

And that's super ... man. But on 'Late Night' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), Mr. Johnson ran into another Jimmy. You may have heard of him. The man's name is Fallon. Jimmy ... Fallon. Tonight, the talk show host took on the NASCAR champ in a battle for racing supremacy.

This being a late night show, Jimmy couldn't spring for million-dollar stock cars. So they played by 'Fallon'-ish rules. The pair had their showdown in absurdly over-sized 'Big Wheel'-style tricycles.
