Jimmy Fallon and Mario Batali Reminisce About Grocery Shopping in Ireland (VIDEO)

by Stephanie Opella, posted Dec 6th 2011 7:15PM
Mario Batali has made several visits to his buddy Jimmy Fallon's late-night show, and Tuesday Fallon returned favor and came by 'The Chew' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC). As they cooked some wine-stained garganelli in "ugly holiday sweaters," Jimmy told a funny story about going grocery shopping with Batali while on a golf vacation in Ireland.

"It was the coolest thing ... it was like, how does he hold the cart different than I do?" Fallon joked, as Batali demonstrated his cart-pushing runway walk. Batali enlisted Fallon as his shopping assistant, and Fallon ran around the store picking up things for him. Sent on a mission to find a grill-pan, Fallon went exploring, only to find an entire Mario Batali Cookware aisle. Jimmy made Batali go up to the counter and buy his own pan, while pointing out to the cashier that his friend's picture was on the packaging. Batali still had to pay full price.

'The View' Ladies Mock Michele Bachmann's 'One Word' Fallon Interview (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Nov 22nd 2011 1:45PM
Michele Bachmann's awkward interview on 'Late Night' is making the rounds on the web after she played a game of 'One Word' with Jimmy Fallon. With the lights dimmed, Fallon tried to take the Congresswoman through some word association, but before he could get the game started she blurted out "Partymonkey!" and "cranberries." Once they finally got going, she used the opportunity to toss a few zingers at her fellow Republican presidential candidates.

Tuesday on 'The View,' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) the panel replayed a clip from the interview and went around the table sharing the one word they'd use to describe Bachmann. "Oops!" cracked Joy Behar. Barbara Walters chose not to share hers. "I don't think I will say it," she demurred. "Bonehead!" offered Sherri Shepherd. Whoopi Goldberg put a bow on the ladies' Bachmann opinions. "She looked fantastic ... but she's not presidential material, I'm sorry, she's not. Just my opinion."

Jimmy Fallon, 'The Colbert Report'With Dippin' Dots struggling financially, Stephen Colbert sought out to find the next "Ice Cream of the Future" on 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central). He decided it should probably be his Ben & Jerry's flavor, Americone Dream.

But also he wanted to beat Jimmy Fallon's Late Night Snack flavor in something, since his "Eternal Enemy for Six Months" is apparently beating him in sales. So he brought in a scientist and a gadget we didn't understand even after it was explained.

The bottom line was that it enabled a small container of Americone Dream to float through the air, which automatically makes it the ice cream of the future, and perhaps more importantly, better than Late Night Snack.

Ryan Gosling and Jimmy FallonWhen you think of a Turkish bath house, you might have the same romanticized version of it in your head that Ryan Gosling did. But, as he told Jimmy Fallon on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), the reality was a whole different creature.

Gosling didn't get beautiful women fanning him with palm leaves and feeding him grapes. "It's just like a big hairy Turkish guy who washes you with a bar of soap," he said.

It was bad enough, he thought, paying for this, but it got much worse when in a moment of pain at the rough treatment, Gosling opened his mouth and the guy's stomach went into his mouth.

"You know how when you eat something weird, your brain sends your tongue to investigate?" he asked ...

Fallon admitted that seeing Kate Gosselin's robotic effort to "Paparazzi," "makes me feel good about myself. I go, 'I'm not that bad.'" Following on his hilarious impression of her routine last week, he again unleashed the Kate within for Ripa.

She then countered with a flawless Bruno Tonioli impersonation, complete with a dramatic review: "If you were going through a divorce, I would make looove to you!" And after further dissection of the season's competitors, Ripa revealed her annoyance with a particular male contestant. Who could it be?
