by Donald Deane, posted Mar 9th 2011 12:30PM
John Leguizamo Recalls Getting Slapped Silly by Sean PennOn 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM ET on ABC), John Leguizamo recalls getting slapped by Sean Penn so many times while filming 'Casualties of War' that his face actually went numb.

The actors were filming a scene for the 1989 war flick in which Penn was supposed to slap Leguizamo into submission. But, because Penn prefers the technique of method acting, Leguizamo said he didn't hold back.

Spike cancels The Kill Point

by Bob Sassone, posted Nov 14th 2007 3:42PM

The Kill PointI know, I know: 69% of you are saying, "what the heck is The Kill Point?" (50% of you might even be saying, "what the heck is Spike?" I call those people "women.")

Spike has canceled the Donnie Wahlberg drama after only one season. The show actually got decent ratings, especially among guys of a certain age, but the network has decided to go crazy on reality shows instead of investing in original, scripted programming. A spokesman for the network gave this quote: "We are out of the serialized one-hour business. We need programming that we can repeat." Oh, I'm sure TV fans are gritting their teeth over that one.

by Michael Maloney, posted Jul 15th 2007 2:02PM

tva logoFriday's TCA, which continued cable TV presentations, felt like three days rolled into one.

Just how jam-packed and eclectic are the programs and announcements that were made?

Here's a sample: Dynasty diva Joan Collins is checking into BBC America's Hotel Babylon, Richard Dreyfus (Jaws) is not afraid to get back into the water as host of The Discovery Channel's Ocean of Fear: The Worst Shark Attack Ever and Jonny Fairplay (Survivor) of CMT's Ty Murray's Celebrity Bull-Riding Challenge sadly announced that his beloved grandmother passed away two weeks ago.

Earl in a bit of peril south of the border(S02E10) I'm always a little wary when a half-hour sitcom decides to extend itself to a "special" one-hour edition. In many instances, the producers and writers want to introduce a new storyline or bring an existing one to some sort of conclusion. In many instances, these extended episodes turn out to be very disappointing. Not this time.

CBS says yes to Edison

by Adam Finley, posted Feb 7th 2006 3:42PM
john leguizamoWhile a show in which Thomas Edison comes back from the dead to feast on the living would be really awesome, that show only exists in my head. Instead, the drama Edison, which was recently green lit by CBS, will star the occasionally funny John Leguizamo as an undercover cop. Not too much more is known about the show beyond that, except talent will include writers Terri Hughes Burton and Ron Milbauer of Supernatural, and producer David Hoberman of Monk. I'm not an admirer of CBS' dramas by any means, but the talent gathered for this one might cause me to check it out at least once.
