Watch animated Buffy while you can - VIDEO

by Debra McDuffee, posted Aug 4th 2008 8:02AM
animated buffyOK, now that was just plain fun. What was, you ask? I just got finished watching the less-than-four-minute clip of Buffy, the Vampire Slayer: The Animated Series.

Four years ago, it looked like this series was a go, but somehow, it just went. Our friend Jane Espenson penned some of the scripts, and tells us she's in if the project ever takes off again. And rumors abound that the Buffy animated series may just be revived.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer vs. Reaper

by Debra McDuffee, posted May 19th 2008 10:32AM
cast of ReaperI've confessed before -- or should I say shouted from the rooftops -- that I am a Joss Whedon fan. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of my all-time favorite shows and I still mourn its loss (the comic books just don't give me my Buffy fix).

This season, I was hopeful when Reaper arrived on the scene. It seemed to have some of the same elements that I liked about Buffy: demon lore, a Scooby gang, a story arc, and a lighthearted, humorous side to a subject that could be very dark.

So how does Reaper measure up to Buffy? When I actually did the breakdown, I was pleasantly surprised. A very interesting outcome, indeed....

Dollhouse plot details revealed

by Debra McDuffee, posted Apr 18th 2008 8:04AM
Joss WhedonI am a true whore for any Whedon universe. I thank the Powers That Be for DVD releases, so I don't have to mourn over the loss of Buffy, Angel and Firefly. Heck, I even watch Toy Story and salivate just a little.

So you can imagine how excited I am that Joss will have a new series, Dollhouse, and that glorious new details have been revealed about the series this week.

Earlier today Bob mentioned that Amy Acker (Fred / Ilyria on Angel) will join Eliza Dushku (Buffy's Faith) and Harry Lennix (24 and The Matrix). So far, an amazing lineup. The fact that I get to see some of my old Whedon universe friends back with Joss' work is very cool.
