'The View' Debates Herman Cain's Latest Scandal (VIDEO)
by Alex Moaba, posted Nov 29th 2011 2:10PM
Herman Cain is currently in the process of "reassessing his candidacy" after a Georgia woman came forward Monday alleging that she and the Republican presidential candidate were involved in a 13-year extramarital affair. This new revelation comes on the heels of allegations of sexual harassment from four separate women, all of which he denied fervently. The ladies of 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) tackled the scandal in their 'Hot Topics' segment, and as usual, opinions different around the table. Whoopi Goldberg observed that this latest accusation isn't against the law, and wondered if it was the public's business at all. Sherri Shepherd said it would be hard to trust a man running for president who's been this deceptive in his private life.

Danny DeVito Brings 'Always Sunny's' Gutter Humor to 'The View' (VIDEO)
by Alex Moaba, posted Sep 20th 2011 7:00PM
Danny DeVito is the elder statesman of the 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' cast, but that doesn't mean he's a beacon of maturity. DeVito stopped by 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) where he talked about the new, depraved 'Sunny' season and gave some Joy and Sherri some equally crass advice on how to make a marriage work.To start the segment, they showed a clip from the 'Sunny' premiere, in which Frank asked a hooker to marry him, only to see her die of a crack overdose seconds later. "In the seven seasons we've been doing the show, we bring the bar down as low as we can. If you think you're in the gutter, we're gonna excavate that gutter. But we have a lot of fun," he said.
Margaret Cho Details Accidentally Sexting Her Mom (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 13th 2011 6:15PM
Margaret Cho said Wednesday on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) that she loves sexting. So much so that she's hesitant to judge Anthony Weiner for his recent scandal. She's even featured on a song called 'Sexting' by drag performer Sherry Vine (it's an unreleased song fans can get with a charity promotion for her music album 'Cho Dependant' that ends Friday). But it is a dangerous practice, at least for the easily embarrassed ... and those prone to typing in the wrong phone number. "If you're going to be sexting, check the number," warned Cho. "I was sexting with this guy I was doing it with, and I was like..." Well, 'The View' bleeped the next part. If you can read lips, you might catch it.
The mortifying part was the phone call Cho then received from her mother, to whom she had inadvertently sent the message. Her mom misunderstood the intention of Cho's sexting, because she wanted to make sure she had a meal ready.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck Gets Some Birthday Softball Lessons From Nomar Garciaparra (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted May 27th 2011 6:00PM
Elisabeth Hasselbeck was a two-time Big East champion as captain of her Boston College softball team. So for her birthday this year, she wanted to get back out on the field with one of her favorite players, former Boston Red Sox shortstop Nomar Garciaparra. Today on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC), she got that wish, hitting and throwing the ball around the diamond with Garciaparra, and getting a little bit of coaching.Hasselbeck looked like she could still throw, catch and bat, knocking a few over Garciaparra's head. "She bites her underlip and her eyes are focused on the baseball," he said of her performance. "And she gets really mean. It looks like she's really angry at something. That's the sign of a good hitter."
Hasselbeck even fielded a fly ball from Garciaparra. The only drawback is that she was sure Joy Behar would find some sort of pun in that.
Panel Takes Schwarzenegger to Task on 'The View' (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted May 17th 2011 5:30PM
With new details continuing to come to light daily, the Arnold Schwarzenegger / Maria Shriver divorce should continue to provide talk show fodder for some time. Today on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC), the panel took aim at Schwarzenegger's philandering and the general consensus forming around his shamelessness."Who knew that 'The Sperminator' was doing more than pumping iron?" said Joy Behar, calling Schwarzenegger "out of control." Elisabeth Hasselbeck was not impressed with his claiming full responsibility for his actions, "as if he could shed the responsibility on anyone else," she said.
Most pointedly, Barbara Walters questioned Schwarzenegger's timing and motives. "He didn't tell her until after he had left being governor," she said. "What was behind it? Why did he tell her now? There's a lot that we don't know. I don't care if we know it or not, I just feel sad for her and her family."
Don't expect this to be the last Schwarzenegger discussion on 'The View.' The topic will, to be sure, be back.
Betty White Fondly Recalls Marriage to Allen Ludden (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted May 6th 2011 12:45PM
Betty White's first two marriages may have initially soured her to the idea of getting hitched again. But, marrying third husband Allen Ludden in 1963 turned out to be one of the best decisions of her life. And, if given the opportunity, White would do it all over again, she said on 'The Joy Behar Show' (weeknights, 10PM ET on HLN).When asked to choose one thing in her life she would gladly do again, White answered without hesitation, "Marry Allen Ludden. No two ways about that. He was something special."
Joy Tries to Inject Politics Into Discussion About the Tooth Fairy on 'The View' (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Apr 25th 2011 2:30PM
During an innocent discussion by Elisabeth Hasselbeck on the loss of her daughter's first tooth on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated), Joy Behar made her best attempt to start a political argument by referring to the "birther" movement which openly questions President Barack Obama's citizenship."[My daughter] has this tooth that's wildly loose. It's just, like, hanging on my a string. So, I'm nervous. I'm like, 'I've got to get prepared before this thing falls out,'" said Hasselbeck. "So I tweeted, 'What's a tooth going for?' and 'Any new ideas for the tooth fairy?' I haven't done this before."
Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd Count Their Vibrators on 'The View' (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Apr 21st 2011 3:00PM
Whoopi Goldberg cited an article in The New York Times pointing out the growing acceptance of vibrators on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated). This prompted a discussion between Sherri Shepherd and Joy Behar where they compared the number of sex toys received as gifts from guests over the years."I only got two. How many have you gotten?" Behar asked Shepherd.
Robin Williams Demands to See Donald Trump's Hairline (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 19th 2011 4:40PM
Once Robin Williams gets going, it can be tough to slow him down. Such was the case today, when he stopped by 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC) and Joy Behar promptly asked him about Donald Trump. Williams took over from there, joking about what a Trump presidency might actually look like, and aiming some barbs directly at his hair.Williams imagined that if elected, Trump would turn the White House into a casino, and theorized that his hair may be a sentient being that controls him. "I believe the hair is actually The Donald," he said. "That's actually the creature." He pictured Trump getting home in the evening and the hair asking him questions. "How are we doing today? Who shall we marry next?"
'The View' Hosts Take the Citizenship Test (VIDEO)
by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 15th 2011 4:40PM
Good news for the hosts of 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC). They are all allowed to stay in the U.S. That's the verdict after Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck collectively took a citizenship test today in honor of a crew member who had just been granted her American citizenship. 'View' producer Bill Geddie administered the test on camera, asking basic questions about the Constitution.Hasselbeck was the secret weapon, able to name the number of voting members in the House of Representative (435) and the current Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (John Roberts). When asked to name a U.S. territory, Goldberg jokingly yelled out "Hawaii!" They did well enough to pass. "Not bad," said Bill Geddies, clearly happy to be through with the segment. "You can all stay. I guess."
Their status may be contingent on how Donald Trump feels about them and if he can divert his team from studying President Obama's birth records in Hawaii long enough to look into 'The View.'
Elisabeth Hasselbeck Silences Joy Behar With Ivy League Rebuttal on 'The View' (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Apr 11th 2011 1:45PM
Elisabeth Hasselbeck used an argument by Joy Behar to point out George W. Bush's intelligence, stunning her co-host into a rare silence on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated). The unexpected reversal began when Behar cited President Barack Obama's Ivy League education as a reason for his intelligence. "President Obama went to Harvard Law School and Columbia University, okay? He is a very intelligent guy," said Behar
Jesse Ventura Argues Against Two-Party System on 'The View' (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Apr 6th 2011 2:00PM
Former Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura has made no secret of his dislike for America's two-party system, claiming that it accounts for a host of political ills. On 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated), Ventura argued that voters should avoid both parties as a way to voice their discontent."What you do is simple," Ventura said. "Stop voting for Democrats and Republicans. We have to break the two-party dictatorship, and we have the power to do it. Quit voting for them!"
Joy Behar Asks 'The Real Housewives of New York' How Real The Show Is (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 6th 2011 12:23AM
The debate on how real reality television is, may never be fully resolved, but the women of 'The Real Housewives of New York City' kept the discussion alive and well on 'The View' (Weekdays, syndicated on ABC). First, Jill Zarin said she thought what happened between her and Bethenny Frankel was "sort of drama for the show" and that they would then make up.Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Actually, for Bravo it may have worked out for the best as Frankel is now off and running with her own successful show.
"So you're saying that things are faked?" Joy Behar asked, but the women evaded and moved on.
Whoopi Compares Joy's Dancing to 'Sitting on a Vibrator' on 'The View' (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Feb 23rd 2011 2:45PM
The ladies of 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated) discuss the possibility of Joy Behar appearing on 'Dancing With the Stars,' but Behar points out her decided lack of moves. Whoopi Goldberg takes things a step further by comparing Behar's dancing to "sitting on a vibrator.""Is there such a dance called 'The Immobility'? Because I do not move when I dance. I'm like one of those bobble heads," said Behar, bouncing slightly in her chair to illustrate.
