Jude Law Performs Foreign Accents on 'Regis and Kelly' (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Mar 17th 2010 11:00AM
Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa complimented Jude Law on his recent 'Saturday Night Live' appearance in which he flawlessly executed a range of foreign accents. Philbin and Ripa were so impressed that they asked Law to perform Russian and Spanish accents on 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, syndicated).

Law objected only slightly, then obliged, adding that he didn't have the benefit of significant practice time or a vocal coach on 'SNL.'

Jude Law Competes with Nic Cage, Al Pacino on 'Saturday Night Live' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 14th 2010 10:20PM
Saturday Night Live, Jude LawJude Law hosted 'Saturday Night Live' (Sat., 11:35PM ET on NBC) this week, and while the episode was lackluster overall, it did offer a few highlights. One was Law's audition for 'Hamlet' on Broadway. Apparently, he had some stiff competition, including Nicolas Cage, Nathan Lane, and Al Pacino.

Andy Samberg's Nic Cage impression never fails to make us laugh out loud. He sounds just like him, especially when he goes into his 'National Treasure' schtick.

'Saturday Night Live' - 'Jude Law/Pearl Jam' Recap

Congratulations, Jude Law. That was a solid episode all around and a fine return to the 'Saturday Night Live' stage. And despite the fact that Pearl Jam was virtually unrecognizable to any ears that haven't heard them since the early-'90s, at least Law's musical guest didn't have any reason to do an awkward hoedown during a career-crippling blunder.

Cold Open: Of course they had to talk about this. Of course. Now, if you haven't read up on the incredibly weird Eric Massa story, it probably would have seemed like 'SNL' was just making up most of it. Unfortunately, they weren't. Maybe that's why they felt that ridiculously long intro was necessary? Anyway, the treatment of this topic was all right, though the absolute best part was Bobby Moynihan as Massa, attempting stealth snorkeling on Andy Samberg (the weak distraction was especially nice). And no, sorry, you can't unsee it.

Zach Galifianakis and Jude Law to Host 'SNL'

by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 25th 2010 1:02PM
Even though a lot of people put down 'Saturday Night Live' (and yes it's probably not as great as years gone by), hosting the show is still a pretty big deal. The show gets a lot of viewers and watercooler talk (and by watercooler talk I mean comments on the web), it's a good push for the first weekend of a new movie opening, and it gives fans of various celebrities a chance to see them do something different.

The two latest hosts to be named are Zach Galifianakis and Jude Law. Galifianakis will host on March 6 (with musical guest Vampire Weekend), and Law will host on March 13 (with Pearl Jam).

Let's not forget what happened the last time Law hosted the show.

On 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,' host Jimmy Fallon showed why he wasn't the final choice to play the titular character in Guy Ritchie's upcoming movie 'Sherlock Holmes.'

In mock footage from the movie, Fallon mumbled lines and dropped modern colloquialisms alongside Jude Law as Dr. Watson, receiving a punch to the face from Law each time.

Sherlock Holmes will save Seth MacFarlane

Well, Apple didn't take my suggestion to replace Microsoft as the new sponsor of Seth MacFarlane's comedy special. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stepped up. Actually, it's Warner Bothers Pictures' Sherlock Holmes that'll sponsor the MacFarlane variety special.

Microsoft backed out of Family Guy Presents: Seth & Alex's Almost Live Comedy Show when they caught a run through of the program and objected to the humor. Goodness only knows what they thought they were getting with Seth, but it's all water under the bridge now.
