Ray Romano Weighs In on 'The Talk's' Hose vs. No Hose Debate (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 6th 2011 5:15PM
The pantyhose question answered on 'The Talk'Future audience members of 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS), take note. If Julie Chen decides to show off her hose-clad legs, do not whistle, or you may be subjected to Leah Remini's granny panties dance. That was the scene Wednesday with guest Ray Romano, when Remini responded to an audience member's enthusiastic holler by de-hosing Chen.

Remini explained that the man in the audience was probably picturing thigh-high stockings, not the more full-figured version, and he certainly hadn't had to witness Chen's shimmy to pull them up. Remini then said Chen's husband Les Moonves probably didn't want to deal with them either, and tore them from her legs. Romano had to follow that, and Remini asked him, "Do men like hose?"

'The Talk' Panel Reacts With Shock to the Casey Anthony Verdict (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 5th 2011 5:00PM
Reactions to the Casey Anthony 'not guilty' verdict on 'The Talk'It was a day of mixed emotions Tuesday on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS), as the panel reacted live to the verdict from the Casey Anthony trial. The room was filled with nervous anticipation in the moments before the verdict, as Julie Chen made the executive decision to stay with the show instead of breaking to coverage, joking that she would discuss any fallout from the decision with her husband, CBS president and CEO Leslie Moonves, at the dinner table.

But the breezy tone quickly changed as she reported the shocking verdict -- the studio audience gasped and then grew quiet as the "not guilty" verdicts came in on the separate murder, manslaughter and child abuse charges. Leah Remini, bewildered, threw her hands up in the air and almost walked off the set. Chen herself appeared close to breaking down at one point, leaving Holly Robinson Peete to finish reading the remaining counts.

Julie Chen to Chair TV Mom Roundtable

by Scott Harris, posted Apr 22nd 2010 10:15AM
Get ready to hear Julie Chen's point of view.

According to the New York Post, the Chenbot will be filming a pilot for a new 'View'-style daytime talk show whose panel of experts will have a slight twist: They will all be moms discussing things from a mom point of view. The series, which has yet to receive a title, could potentially fill the time slot being vacated this summer by the cancellation of the long-running soap opera 'As the World Turns.'

'Early Show' Is (Finally!) Going HD

by Jane Boursaw, posted Apr 21st 2010 7:34AM
The Early Show 'The Early Show' is finally going HD, according to a new report from Media Bistro. It seems a little odd that it's taken the show so long to switch, especially considering that its morning show rivals, 'Today' and 'Good Morning America,' already broadcast in HD.

Perhaps this is CBS' attempt to boost ratings and skew to a younger audience, which was nudged along a couple of years ago when it re-launched the show with a colorful new widescreen set. According to Media Life, the show averaged a measly 2.52 million viewers during the first three months of 2010, putting it in third place among the network morning news programs.

Modern Family: The Incident

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 15th 2009 1:45AM
Shelley Long, Modern Family(S01E04) You know, I never even thought about the fact that Jay's ex-wife might still be out there. I don't know why, but I guess I figured she was dead or something, since nobody's even mentioned her prior to tonight. Now I know why that's the case. There's a lot of history to this family, and it looks like we're going to be able to piece it together.

I loved the flashbacks we did get this week, and Shelley Long as the ex-wife is just brilliant casting. And may I say she's been aging very well. She hasn't lost even a bit of her comic shops, either. I'm hoping she agreed to come back and play this role over and over again. Since she's also Claire and Mitchell's mother, there's reason for her to come back over and over again.

Every week, I'm blown away at all the little moments of humor the writers find in these three families. They pack so much in a short half-hour that I come out of it exhausted. Tonight's episode stuck to one main plot, but man was it good.

Big Brother 11: Finale HOH, season finale

Natalie and Kevin made it to the final three on BB11
(S11E30) Natalie and Kevin made it scheming all the way into the final three on Big Brother 11. But, did they make it to the final two? Did one of them win the half-million dollars? Or did Jordan blow them both out of the water? It was an unlikely final three and the first two-hour live season finale. Despite the rather lame "high school cliques" theme to the season, it definitely had its moments of BB history.

Kevin is in the final three on Big Brother 11
(S11E29) The Big Brother 11 finale will be a two-hour extravaganza on Tuesday evening. It's going to be similar to the Survivor finales with all of the houseguests, a big reunion, and love and joy abounding. Well, Chima should be missing. I'm not so sure on the love and joy either. Perhaps it will be fisticuffs and brouhahas. Hey, if Natalie wins it all, I can see the audience going into uproar mode. It will be live and should be interesting. But we had to get through the latest episode first.

Kevin is torn between two women on BB11
(S11E28) They say to "expect the unexpected" on Big Brother 11. Well, tonight showed that the viewers can expect an unexpected scheduling of events. Here I was expecting to see the hamsters dwindled down to two tonight. But that wasn't to be the case. However, I did expect Kevin to dress up all spiffy and funky. Sure enough, he did. He had matching red sneakers to complete the outfit.

Big Brother 11 HoH spoilers from the live feeds

Hanging by a key on a rolling logIf you want to discuss last night's episode of Big Brother 11, head on over to the TV Squad review of the show. But if you want to know who won the first part of the final head of household comp, stay right here. Perhaps if we had Jeff and Russell in the competition, they'd still be up on the log.

But think about it. We have players not as um ... enduring (or at least one is certainly not as endearing) left in the game at this point. I mean, how long can they hang in there? A half-hour? Maybe an hour? Well, I'll tell you they were up there for much longer than I thought. If you want to find out more, read on past the jump. Extreme spoilers ahead!

Kevin needs to win the power of veto
(S11E27) Yep, we're nearing the end of Big Brother 11 as the final four gets chopped down to the final three. It's not the final three (or four) I would have imagined at the beginning of the season, but rarely does my first impression hold out. As the very pregnant Julie Chen mentioned at the top of the show, there is one representative from each original clique left in the game. I also wouldn't have predicted that she'd last the season. But she proved me wrong.

Big Brother 11: Nominations #10

Natalie is the HOH this week
(S11E26) Now, this is downright frightening. Natalie is the head of household this week in the Big Brother 11 house. I can deal with that ... sort of, kind of. I don't care for her and I don't want her to win the half-million. But I can cope with her winning HoH once this season. What I can't abide by is the outfit. We're talking funkadelic gone horribly awry.

Jeff and Jordan are nominated for eviction
(S11E25) It's the end of the line for the two lovebirds of the Big Brother 11 season, Jordan and Jeff. With both of them sitting in the nomination chairs tonight, it's inevitable that one will go home. Kevin and Natalie hold the power in the house, and lone wolf Michele is but a lone vote. Kevin doesn't vote unless there's a tie.

Kevin has to make some decisions as head of household
(S11E24) Kevin wanted to win the head of household on Big Brother 11. Sure, the room and the basket of goodies is always fun. But the tough part, especially this late in the game, is making the right nominations and planning ahead for the veto competition. Nakomis (BB5) did it right. She literally invented the backdoor plan -- put two hamsters on the block, but neither of them your real target. Then, if the veto is used to save one, slap up your target with no way to escape. Did Kevin do that? Nope. He put his two targets on the block.

Jordan is ready to beat up Russell on Big Brother 11
(S11E22) Well, we all knew sparks would fly tonight on Big Brother 11. After being backdoored by Jeff in the last episode, Russell practically promised to pull a Chima. Don't you just love it when foolish moves are named after the houseguest who did them? A Marcellas, of course, is not saving yourself with the veto and getting evicted. A Chima is a complete breakdown, tossing all to the wind while wreaking havoc in the house.

Why is Natalie smiling in the Big Brother 11 house?
(S11E21) My goodness, whatever could be making Natalie smile in the Big Brother 11 house? Could she have actually won a competition for the first time this season? Perhaps she's thinking of the Lydia/Jessie reunion in the jury house -- picturing scenes of Lydia scratching Jessie's eyes out or something. Maybe she's proud to be wearing a doo-rag which clashes with her shirt instead of her neatly color-coordinated um ... urban wear. Maybe she's thinking of adopting a pit bull so they can wear matching little outfits. Or maybe ...
