Scott Foley has joined the cast of ABC's 'True Blue.' Foley -- who just wrapped up a guest stint on 'Cougar Town' -- will play the assistant DA in the series, about a group of homicide detectives who are reunited when one of their colleagues is murdered. Also joining the cast is Ana Ortiz of 'Ugly Betty' fame. [Hollywood Reporter]

Jay Leno may have got his coveted 11:35PM 'Tonight Show' time slot back, but he'll be looking for a new band leader shortly after he goes back to late night on March 1. Kevin Eubanks, the jazz guitarist who's been with Leno since 1992 and took over over for Branford Marsalis as band leader in 1995, is expected to leave the show sometime in March to resume his recording and touring career.

Since Leno and Eubanks teamed up in 1992, the ante has been upped tremendously for late-night musicians, with Conan O'Brien first bringing in E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg to head his band. And then Jimmy Fallon found the best part of his show, convincing revered hip-hop group the Roots to be the house group.

The original 'We Are the World' was recorded almost exactly 25 years ago to benefit the charity, USA for Africa. Recently, 80 stars got together, including co-writer Lionel Richie and producer Quincy Jones, to remake the classic song to help with Haiti relief efforts. The video was supposed to debut last night during the Olympic opening ceremonies, but they just showed an excerpt. We have the full video here.

It's nice to see some of the same people involved in making the first video in the remake, but this version is populated by mostly new faces including Jennifer Hudson, Josh Groban, Wyclef Jean, and Kanye West, among many others. In fact, there were so many artists featured in this video, that I didn't even recognize them all. The new version is about a full minute longer than the original, and the real question is, how does it stack up?

First she did a twirly hug, then made an odd, slurry joke about a kitten, spoke at a rate of about one word per minute and seemed to have her own personal hype man ('Precious' director Lee Daniels). And what did we do while we watched Mariah Carey's acceptance speech for Breakthrough Actress at last weekend's Palm Springs Film Festival?

We winced. We cringed. Then we watched it again.

Carey's, uh, loosened speech was the first genuinely awkward moment this award show season, but there were many actors, filmmakers, and musicians before her who've heard their name called, stepped to the podium, and made things a little weird for everyone.

"Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'mma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time."

Words that will live forever in infamy. Sort of. In one of the most baffling awards show moments ever, Kanye West stormed the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards just after Taylor Swift was awarded Best Female Video. Swift, and the rest of America, looked on awkwardly.

Was this really happening? Once everyone remembered who was doing the interrupting, it didn't seem so shocking. Kanye had pulled this sort of act before, once even a couple of years ago at the MTV Europe Music Awards when he crashed the stage after losing an award to French duo Justice.

Taylor Swift and Beyonce will lead a star-studded cast of performers at this year's Grammy Awards, the Associated Press reports.

Also scheduled are the Black Eyed Peas, R&B crooner Maxwell and country trio Lady Antebellum when the 52nd Annual ceremony airs January 31 on CBS.

Both Swift and Beyonce are coming off major years, with two ubiquitous singles. Swift's up for 8 nominations, including Song of the Year for her chart-topper 'You Belong With Me.' Her latest album, 'Fearless,' is also up for Best Album of the Year and Best Country Album.

It's only a matter of time before the grasp of sanity is clipped away like a loose thread on a homemade snowman sweater and you turn into a blubbering, snotty, incoherent mess for all the world to enjoy. These are the personalities who lost it and may or may not have gained whatever "it" is back.

While hosting 'Saturday Night Live,' 'New Moon' star Taylor Lautner acted out a fantasy in which he defended the honor of rumored girlfriend Taylor Swift , whose acceptance speech at last summer's MTV Video Music Awards was famously interrupted by Kanye West.

"I was actually at the VMAs the night she won the award for Best Video and Kayne West interrupted her speech. What I really wanted to do that night was this," Lautner said during his opening monologue.

Kanye West's bum-rush of the stage during last September's VMA Awards while Taylor Swift accepted for Best Female Video served as fodder for parodies and jokes on several different occasions during last night's 43rd Annual CMA Awards show. In addition, Swift scored big by snagging a total of four awards including Entertainer of the Year.

During the award show, country stars took jabs at West who interrupted Swift's VMA speech and loudly proclaimed Beyonce should have won instead, including Grand Ole Opry Star Little Jimmy Dickens who jokingly interrupted Carrie Underwood while she praised Brad Paisley's song "Welcome to the Future" and announced to the assembled crowd that Swift's music is superior.

Last night's 43rd Annual CMA Awards was dominated by Taylor Swift, who managed to sweep all four categories she was nominated in, including the coveted Entertainer of the Year Award. Of course, there were the requisite Kanye West jokes for his crashing of Swift's VMA acceptance speech in September, but the night was more about Swift's history-making win as the youngest person, and one of only a few women, to be named Entertainer of the Year.

The 19-year-old Swift beat out Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, George Strait and Keith Urban for the award, and also won Best Female Vocalist, Video of the Year for 'Love Story' and Album of the Year for 'Fearless.'

Hey, I didn't call Kanye West a jackass, the President did. But he's still a jackass either way. I'm sure he's been called much worse since he yanked the mic away from Taylor Swift at MTV's Video Music Awards in September.

When I heard that West and Lady Gaga would be touring together, I thought, what a horrible blow for Gaga. Not that she's any stranger to controversy, what with her blood-spattered performances and all. Actually, these two might be perfect to tour together.

But alas, the show will NOT go on, at least not with West. Apparently, he's being dropped from the tour, whether, as he told Jay Leno, he needed to take some time off, or whether he was asked to take some time off (I vote for the latter).

Gaga told Billboard, "Kanye's going to take some time off. But the good news is that I'm going on tour in a few weeks."

Ironically, the ill-fated tour was named "Fame Kills."

We've seen comments the past few days regarding the fact that we're reviewing this show daily so I thought I should go ahead and address this at the top. We're continually evaluating our coverage of this show, but for the rest of this week at least, these will be daily reviews. Regardless of how we or you feel about it, the very existence of The Jay Leno Show is a groundbreaking chapter in television history.

As such, we'd be remiss to not acknowledge it and cover it upon its premiere. It is a primetime major network show that has completely shaken up the television landscape this season, after all. As for how we'll continue covering it, we have considered weekly roundups or even sporadic reports. And we do listen to you, our readers, as to what you want to read.

Tonight, Jay brought us Steve Carell, "Celebrity Pets," and the "Jackass of the Month." If you think about that last one, I'm sure you can figure out who it was.

(S01E01) A lot is riding on this little NBC pet project. Like one-third of their primetime lineup. But despite all their promises and promotions that this was a comedy show, vastly different than Jay Leno's work on The Tonight Show, I saw virtually the same exact show on a different set. That's not necessarily a bad thing if you're NBC. Leno was incredibly successful for a long time on that show. Just call it what it is.

The promise that it would stay topical was brought to fruition. In the opening monologue, just like those Tonight Show monologues of yore, he drops a joke right away about the situation last night at the Video Music Awards involving Kanye West and Taylor Swift. Conveniently, Kanye was a booked guest tonight, as well, so with a little shuffling, he wound up on the chair next to Leno to talk about it.

On a day when everybody's buzzing about Kanye West rudely interrupting Taylor Swift during the MTV Video Music Awards, the rap star coincidentally is set to appear on the very first episode of 'The Jay Leno Show.'

As Time.com's James Poniewozik notes, Leno's 'Tonight Show' turned things around in the ratings (the show was losing to David Letterman's 'Late Show') when Hugh Grant came on as a guest after the actor had been caught with a prostitute. Leno famously asked him, "What the hell were you thinking?" -- and went on to rule late night after that.

Now, Leno's launching a new show, which airs five times a week at 10PM ET on NBC and possibly could alter the television landscape as we know it ...

By now you've probably heard about the giant Kanye West brouhaha that happened at the VMA awards last night. I actually heard about it when I got on Twitter right after it happened, and it felt as though the very Internet was going to melt from the inside out, leaving us all twitching in a puddle of rage directed at people whom we will never meet.

I tried to piece together what had happened, and from the responses I was reading, it seemed as though Taylor Swift went up to get her VMA, then Kanye West set her dress on fire, ripped off his clothes, and showed everyone his "Beyonce 4 EVA" tattoo located in a very family-unfriendly place. Then, I'm pretty sure he peed on like, a statue of Jesus or something.

So once I saw the video of what actually happened, imagine my surprise when it turned out all he did was make an ass out of himself on live television. Because, you know, the fact that Kanye West would do that is the BIGGEST SHOCKER OF ALL TIME.
