Kate Gosselin Takes All Eight Kids Grocery Shopping on 'Kate Plus 8' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 28th 2011 4:06AM
Kate Gosselin, 'Kate Plus 8'Kate Gosselin declared it a hodgepodge dinner and took on the daunting task of taking all eight of her children to the grocery store with her on 'Kate Plus 8' (Wed., 10PM ET on TLC). With the sextuplets now barely in grade school, and the twins only six years older than that, we're talking a lot of wound up personalities.

To give them some direction, she gave them each a task in the store. Each child was responsible for one part of dinner: Main course, veggies, fruits, etc. Still, there was the usual bickering, boredom and clamoring for attention you get at a grocery story with young children.

The cashier told Gosselin and her kids that she hadn't seen all of them together like this since the little ones were all in strollers.

Kate Gosselin, 'Kate Plus 8'If people ever decide they've seen enough of Kate Gosselin and her brood on television, and TLC cancels 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 10PM ET on TLC), she may have found her fallback career.

This week, Gosselin got the chance to first ride in, and then drive, a race car around the track while her kids watched. And she simply couldn't get enough of it.

"I could have done it all day. It was strangely mesmerizingly fun," Gosselin said of the experience. Her only complaint? "It wasn't fast enough."

The Kids Treat Mom to a Birthday Surprise on 'Kate Plus 8' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 7th 2011 4:05AM
'Kate Plus 8'Kate Gosselin got a big birthday treat on 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 10PM ET on TLC). She got to experience for the first time the joys of having kids old enough to actually bake you a cake and do what they can to make your day as special as it can be.

The kids even surprised her when she came home by hiding behind the island in the kitchen to yell, "Surprise!" They had the house decorated and had two cakes prepared. There are, after all, eight hungry kids in the house even if it is Mom's birthday.

As always, some of the most adorable moments of 'Kate Plus 8' comes when the kids are interviewed about what happened, and they couldn't have been more excited about the surprise they gave their mother.

Kate Gosselin on Presidency: 'We'll Leave That to Sarah Palin' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 3rd 2011 2:18AM
Kate Gosselin, 'Kate Plus 8'Kate Gosselin and her brood headed to Philadelphia to take in some American history this week on 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 10PM ET on TLC). While there, the kids taught us a few things we didn't know. Do you know why the president raises his right hand during the oath of office?

According to Gosselin's kids, the right hand is the liberty hand! Look which hand the Statue of Liberty is holding aloft. It all makes sense. Sorry all you left-handed folks, but we don't know yet what that hand is. Maybe the freedom hand?

While there, they also got to pretend to take the oath of office themselves, and get their picture taken. Gosselin even got one of herself getting sworn in. "I had it on the front of my phone for a while, me being the next president," she smiled. "We'll leave that to Sarah Palin."

Kate Gosselin Can't Escape the Paparazzi, Even in New Zealand (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 19th 2011 3:00AM
paparazzi on 'Kate Plus 8'If such a thing is possible, the paparazzo who followed Kate Gosselin in New Zealand actually made the rest of them look worse. On the latest 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 10PM ET on Bravo), Gosselin continued her vacation in New Zealand with the kids, but discovered that the paparazzi had followed her there.

"It was like here you are across the world, and it's the old struggles of home," she said.

As she was in a public place, the photographer couldn't be banned from the premises, but he could be confronted when he got physically violent. He shoved a production assistant who was blocking his shots of Gosselin and her children.

Kate Gosselin Feeds the Crocodiles at the Australian Zoo on 'Kate Plus 8' (VIDEO)

Kate Gosselin, 'Kate Plus 8'Kate Gosselin is having all kinds of new adventures in Australia, and on the latest installment of 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 10PM ET on TLC), she set out on one both exciting and dangerous. She also set up what would either be an awesome memory for her kids or one of the most traumatic experiences of their young lives as they were on the sidelines watching their mother feed a hungry crocodile.

The croc was coming right at Gosselin and Wes, the zookeeper. Even on camera it looked like an incredibly exhilarating and terrifying experience.

"That's your food. I'm not," Gosselin told the croc as she threw meat at him from a distance it probably could have crossed much faster than she would have expected.

Kate Gosselin, 'Kate Plus 8'Kate Gosselin returned for her second season of 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 10PM ET on TLC) by heading to the land down under. While there, she decided to tackle two fears at once. And it looks like the least of her worries was the sharks she was going to be swimming with.

"I am not a swimmer and I don't like being underwater," she said, which makes us wonder why she would think swimming with great white sharks is a great undertaking.

Maybe start a little easier. Maybe start by swimming with people ... or even alone.

George Lopez Lets Kate Gosselin Slap Him for All the Jokes About Her (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Feb 22nd 2011 3:55AM
Kate Gosselin, George Lopez Make AmendsKate Gosselin had been hesitant to appear on 'Lopez Tonight' (weeknights, 12AM ET on TBS). After all, George Lopez is one of the many late-night hosts who's made merciless jokes at her expense. She counted at least 48 cracks about her. "I will give you a free slap at me," Lopez said. He moved closer for the hit, but she gave him a peck on the cheek instead.

The host then showed proof that he wanted her to win 'Dancing With the Stars' last spring. In a program clip from April 14, Lopez implored everyone to vote for her to stay on the show. As footage of her dancing played behind him, Lopez said, "Do it for the United States of America. Times are tough. But when we see that, we feel better about ourselves." Once again, Lopez was teasing her, but she was good-humored about it. "Obviously that [appeal] probably kept me on far longer than my dancing."

Kate Gosselin: Unlike Billy Ray Cyrus, No Regrets About Putting Family on TV (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Feb 15th 2011 4:50PM
Kate Gosselin doesn't regret putting her family on TV, unlike Billy Ray CyrusKate Gosselin addressed questions about putting her family on television today on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). Julie Chen broached the subject after the panel had talked about Billy Ray Cyrus and his regrets about 'Hannah Montana,' a show featuring his daughter, Miley. Gosselin had no such regrets.

The big difference, she said, was that 'Montana' was scripted, whereas 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' was not. "We're living," she said. "The kids just run in and out of the frame and they live. I don't feel like I can really relate a whole lot to what he's saying. I'm still the parent, on-camera, off-camera."

Joan Rivers Talks Kate Gosselin on 'Lopez Tonight'Joan Rivers shared the stage of 'Lopez Tonight' (weeknights, 12AM ET on TBS) with a "curse jar." Each time she or George Lopez let out a profanity, a dollar bill would go into the jar.

Rivers got on the subject of Kate Gosselin. The mother of eight children "has moved to New York, which is great. And we're thrilled to have her, because if there's another terrorist attack we can all hide in her utuerus," she joked.

As to what having had sextuplets may have done to her body, Lopez noted that Gosselin "didn't look so bad" on 'Dancing With the Stars.'" Rivers replied, "But weren't you nervous? Every time they swung her around, I thought, 'Three more kids are gonna come flying out!'" Suffice to say, there were several bills in the jar by the end of the interview.

The Best and Worst of TV in 2010: 'Breaking Bad,' 'Modern Family,' 'Glee' and More

by Joel Keller, posted Dec 22nd 2010 5:30PM
Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston of 'Breaking Bad'During every Festivus season, we here at TV Squad reflect on what's happened during the past year in the world of the boob tube (I'll keep calling it that because "boob flat screen" doesn't flow as well).

We're in the midst of giving you our "12 Days of Festivus," my fellow Squadders have given their best and worst picks, and Mo Ryan has given what she liked and disliked this year.

So, how much more can we talk about? Plenty. 2010 was an active year in the television universe and there is plenty to talk about. As I've done in the past, I'll dispense with the usual "best show/worst show" mishegas and just make up the categories as I go along.

THE GOOD

The best season of television that almost no one saw:
The heart-attack inducing third season of 'Breaking Bad.' I've already said that the season, which ended over the summer, was the best season of dramatic television in the past decade, and it seems even better than that in retrospect.

Two 'Dancing' Divas: Did Kate Gosselin and Bristol Palin Ruin 'Dancing With the Stars'?

by Chris Harnick, posted Dec 22nd 2010 1:20PM
Kate Gosselin, Bristol Palin
Countdown to Festivus on Dec. 23: On the second day of Festivus, TV gave to us ... two divas 'Dancing.'

To say 'Dancing With the Stars' is a polarizing show is an understatement. The viewers who love it, well, they really love it. And the people who aren't into it? It's generally a venomous dislike. But, 'Dancing With the Stars' took a turn for the worse when they introduced two dancing divas: Kate Gosselin and Bristol Palin.

The competition series enjoyed renewed prominence when they put reality TV star Kate Gosselin and Republican maverick Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol on its two seasons of 2010, but at what cost? Sure, the series surged in ratings and became must-see TV for the following day's watercooler chat, but the series that used to be about celebrities learning to dance is now tainted.
