Kathy Griffin Wasn't Impressed With the First Kiss After the Royal Wedding (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 1st 2011 11:30PM
'Kathy Griffin's Insightful and Hilarious Take on the Royal Wedding'Kathy Griffin took it upon herself to break down the nuptials of William and Catherine on 'Kathy Griffin's Insightful and Hilarious Take on the Royal Wedding' (Fri., 8PM ET on TV Guide). She had a panel of comedians on-hand so they would leave no aspect of the festivities un-ridiculed.

One of the moments people were waiting for was the anticipated kiss between the newly wed couple on the balcony at Buckingham Palace. Millions of people were amassed outside in anticipation of the moment, and then it happened.

"Really? Honest? Seriously?" Griffin said of the modest peck. It was equated to the kind of kiss you give someone when you're breaking up with them.

Kathy Griffin Explains Her Topless Photos (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 25th 2011 6:40PM
Kathy Griffin on 'The Talk'Many women in Hollywood would treat leaked topless photos of themselves as an affront or scandal. Not Kathy Griffin. Today on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS), she was thrilled to talk about some topless photos of her visit to Florida that have surfaced recently on the Web. She explained that they were taken when she flashed a passing cruise ship while Griffin was staying with Gloria Estefan.

"My whole career I've dreamed of a mug shot, like with the Nick Nolte hair," she said, "or topless or bottomless photos. And I finally made a dream come true."

Griffin said when a cruise ship passed by Estefan's private beach, Estefan said she flashed the ships all the time. Griffin took it as a challenge. She didn't find out later that Estefan was lying. By then, it was too late for everyone.

Kathy Griffin or Chelsea Handler: Is Either Comic Fit For Network TV?

by PopEater Staff, posted Mar 19th 2011 3:00PM
Kathy Griffin, Chelsea HandlerWhen you think outrageous female comediennes, two names spring to mind immediately: Kathy Griffin and Chelsea Handler.

Audiences love potty-mouthed comedienne Kathy Griffin, 50, who has jumped from D-list to A-list in the last few years. She made her name as a stand-up comic in club appearances and on her clever, Emmy-winning Bravo TV reality show, 'My Life on the D List.' Now the funny lady is packing the house -- she recently had to add two shows -- in New York with her hilarious new Broadway show 'Kathy Griffin Wants a Tony.'

Then there's Chelsea Handler, 36, who, in addition to hosting E!'s nightly 'Chelsea Lately,' has a new second E! show ('After Lately'), a sitcom in-the works for NBC based on her life and her own new book imprint label, for which she has a three-book deal, with one tome planned to be written through the eyes of her dog Chunk.

Both funny ladies trash celebrities, poke holes in popular culture and talk about who they want to schtup. Even though each excels on stage with in-your-face humor, have great timing and can roll their eyes like nobody's business, their styles are different, and as their respective empires continue to expand, it seems like only a matter of time before one of them makes a play for a big-time late-night network chat fest. But which funny lady is better suited for a network gig?

Kathy Griffin Talks Palin Army on '50 & Not Pregnant'In 'Kathy Griffin: 50 & Not Pregnant' (Thu., 9PM ET on BRVO), the comedienne discussed the "Palin Army" that has invaded her life (via social media) with threats following her many jokes at the Palin family's expense.

One Sarah Palin supporter wrote, "literally, 'I'm coming to your house tomorrow to murder you,'" said Griffin during the stand-up special.

But she noted, "The Palin Army probably could never really survive against the Gay Army. Because we don't need guns. We have sarcasm and we have snark and we have our verbal [beep] rapier wit and, dammit, that's how we conquer."

Kathy Griffin Explains Why She Went After 16-Year Old Willow Palin (VIDEO)

by Jeremy Taylor, posted Mar 9th 2011 10:45PM
Over the weekend, Sarah Palin ripped Kathy Griffin as an "adult bully" for saying that it was her New Year's resolution to "destroy" Palin's 16-year-old daughter, Willow.

On 'The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell' (weekdays, 8PM ET on MSNBC), Griffin explained that she had targeted Willow because Willow had used the word 'f-g' in a Facebook wall posting, a posting that the media had gotten hold of.

"When you're 16, you know, you're really not supposed to use that word," Griffin said. And that's a word you do really tie in with bullying, especially in the LGBT community -- a community I really don't think she really cares about ... Because you can see if you look at the posting, that's not a joke."

Sarah Palin was recently on 'Justice With Judge Jeanine' (Saturday, 9PM ET on Fox News), and the former Alaska governor responded to rumors that Kathy Griffin will be playing a "Sarah Palin Tea Party–type" on 'Glee.'

"You know, Kathy Griffin can do anything to me or say anything about me, because you know she's kind of ... a 50-year-old adult bully is really what she is," Palin told Jeanine Pirro. "Kind of a has-been comedian and she can do those things to me. I would just ask for respect of my children."

Kathy Griffin Gets Sued for Making Fun of an Audience Member on 'The Defenders' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 7th 2011 12:29AM
Kathy Griffin, 'The Defenders'Even on scripted television Kathy Griffin doesn't seem to know when it might be best to just keep quiet. That was the whole basis of her comedian character's story on 'The Defenders' (Fri., 8PM ET on CBS). It got her into trouble with a sensitive member of the audience that she targeted for ridicule, and it was poised to get her into more trouble in the courtroom.

She didn't seem to be taking the whole affair seriously, which is a little understandable. How many times has Don Rickles been sued for being mean? Should he be? It's the same basic premise.

She seemed to take special delight in the witness relating back the jokes she's said about him. She did manage to keep quiet when Lisa was giving her defense, including things like "She's not a dangerous person. She's just a second-rate comic working a third-rate room."

by Catherine Lawson, posted Jan 6th 2011 7:00AM
Kathy Griffin's going back to her comedy roots as Bravo confirmed Wednesday that 'My Life on the D-List' won't be back for a seventh season.

Instead, Griffin will record four, hour-long stand-up comedy specials for Bravo, one of which will be aired each quarter in 2011. She told People magazine that although letting go was hard, it was the right thing to do.

"It was a really tough decision because I think of 'The D-List' as pretty much my baby for the last six seasons, and I also think it was really time to stop doing it. ... Reality is great, but I really didn't set out to be a reality star. So now it's time to spread my wings and show that I'm a little different than Kate Gosselin."

Kathy Griffin Tries to Undress Anderson Cooper on CNN's New Year's Eve Coverage (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jan 2nd 2011 11:36PM
'New Year's Eve Live With Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin'Last year, comedienne Kathy Griffin dropped the f-bomb on live television while co-hosting 'New Year's Eve Live With Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin' (Fri., 8PM on CNN). This year, she managed to hold her tongue when it came to language, but there are other ways to upset the censors. Apparently, they frown on nudity as well.

Anderson Cooper was doing his best to be a professional about the whole proceeding, but he was interrupted no less than three times trying to tell the audience that soon they would be playing John Lennon's "Imagine" before the dropping of the ball in Times Square to commemorate the new year.

The first time, Griffin was kissing a random guy from the crowd. "You're supposed to do that at the stroke of midnight," Cooper said. Griffin's only response was to start moving toward him with her tongue out.
