'Gossip Girl' Season 4, Episode 1 (Season Premiere) Recap (VIDEO)
['Gossip Girl' - 'Belles De Jour']Welcome back to a scandalous new season on the Upper East Side, mes amies -- I hope you're not of a nervous disposition, because 'Gossip Girl' has no shortage of "Oh mon dieu!" moments in its premiere episode.
For those tired of that iconic Manhattan skyline, Serena and Blair have offered us an enviable change of scenery; but while the geography has changed, the song remains the same.
Poor B is still pining for a certain Basstard, unable to enjoy the many Parisian delights that the City of Love has to offer, while S is sampling all of the local dishes -- from dreamy barmen to any hunk on a Vespa -- in an attempt to forget about her Nate/Dan dilemma back in NYC.
'Gossip Girl' Season 4 Sneak Peek (VIDEO)
It's been a long, hot summer for our favorite Upper East Siders, and we know that you're just dying to find out who's been making up and breaking up while our backs have been turned. While a certain pair of BFFrenemies have been causing a stir in Paris, you'll never guess what some of our favorite 'Gossip' boys have been up to ...
To whet your appetite before season 4 of 'Gossip Girl' debuts on Monday (Sept. 13 at 9PM ET), allow us to present an exclusive sneak peek, courtesy of those fine folks at the CW. After all, who doesn't need a little more Chace Crawford in their lives?
Katie Cassidy Moves From 'Melrose Place' to the Upper East Side
The demise of 'Melrose Place' last season may prove to be good news for 'Gossip Girl.' The CW series has signed 'MP' star Katie Cassidy for a multi-episode arc, in which she will play a trouble-making Columbia student who becomes a love interest for Nate (Chace Crawford), according to the Ausiello Files. However, Ausiello's source indicates that Cassidy's character "is not what she appears," which on the Upper East Side can mean anything. (Maybe the CW is looking to inject some of that 'Vampire Diaries' ratings love into 'Gossip Girl,' and she's a vampire. Or a ghost, like on 'Grey's Anatomy.'?)
Okay, none of those things are probably true, but as one of the few watchable characters on 'Melrose,' Cassidy should help bring a new energy to 'GG''s fourth season.
CW wrap-up: Vampire Diaries, Melrose Place, Life Unexpected - TCA Report
The CW's TCA panels today were full of beautiful people. It seemed like all the shows were about young pretty things in scandalous situations. Even the highly-anticipated Vampire Diaries didn't look much different, except some of the over-sexed high schoolers were vampires. But one show shined through the pretty clutter in the CW's new slate. Too bad we won't see it until early 2010.That show is Life Unexpected, which CW programming head Dawn Ostroff described as "Juno meets Gilmore Girls." After seeing the pilot, I can agree with that description. It's sweet, warm, even a little bit hokey. In fact, it feels like a show that would have been on the old WB network. What the heck is it doing on the CW?
'Melrose Place' on The CW - New TV Pilot Preview
What should you expect from the new TV shows coming this fall? Read our first impressions of CW's 'Melrose Place,' starring Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Katie Cassidy, Laura Leighton, Thomas Calabro and more ...Premise: The CW is moving back into another familiar neighborhood for their second '90s show reboot -- and apparently, the tony Melrose Place apartments are still affordable for the struggling actors/filmmakers/rising stars of L.A.
Katie Cassidy joins Harper's Island
I don't know if I can think of a tougher gig on television than being a girl on Supernatural. Things just never seem to go well for any of them. The good news is that the show seems to be acting as a springboard and many of the actresses have been able to land on their feet with good roles.
Adrianne Palicki moved from playing Sam's sweetheart, Jessica, to Friday Night Lights. Alona Tal, who played the controversial Jo, moved right into a regular spot on Cane. It was short lived, but still a nice credit. And now they're joined by Katie Cassidy, the season three demon, Ruby. She's been added to the ever changing cast of Harper's Island. She takes over the role, originally played by Samantha Noble, of the bride whose wedding is the setting for a whole mess of murders. Now, if we can just get someone to hire Nicki Aycox, the sinister Meg.
Supernatural: No Rest For The Wicked (season finale)

(S03E16) Well, it's that time of the year again. Damned season finales everywhere you look. On the one hand, it's good, because a season finale usually means that you are going to get the good. On the other hand, it also means that we are now going to have to tuck our favorite characters away for the summer and occupy our time with something else, like books, or old beat up trucks. The goods were definitely in play for the Supernatural finale. For the last year we've all been wondering what would happen when time ran out on Dean's deal, and we finally found out.

Supernatural: Malleus Maleficarum

(S03E09) After a month and a half off, Supernatural finally returns with a new episode. As welcome as that was, I couldn't help wondering just what the hell they are thinking over there at the CW scheduling department. Of all the weeks to bring the show back, the night of the Lost season premiere? That probably cost a bit in the ratings department, and that's unfortunate, because this was another very good episode.

Supernatural: Sin City

(S03E04) This week, Kripke and his pals brought us more of the same. Considering how season three is going, that is a very good thing. Once again we were treated to an interesting story that balanced very nicely with hints and reveals about the bigger picture season three plot. A little more Ruby, some welcome artillery, more questions about just who Sam is now, and the first cracks in Dean's manly outer shell.

Supernatural: The Kids Are Alright

(S03E02) There aren't a lot of things that freak me out more than evil children. Maybe clowns, and bugs give me the wiggins, but when done right, a gaggle of evil rugrats is just creepy as hell. And I thought the Supernatural team got it just right here. That story alone made the episode worth watching, but we also got so much more. Does Dean have a kid? Just who is the mysterious Ruby? Have we put that whole Sam is special thing behind us? Will that little scene from last season where it seemed that Mary knew the demon come back into play? The answers, and my review, after the jump.
Supernatural: The Magnificent Seven (season premiere)

(S03E01) Guess who just got back today? Them wild-eyed boys that had been away. Haven't changed... Well, wait a minute. Yes they have, and those changes are a big part of what makes season three of Supernatural so interesting. I think it's very smart what Kripke and his team have done.
The yellow-eyed demon had all the makings of your typical carrot and stick never ending serial plot device. They probably could have gone on for another few seasons with Sam and Dean never quite getting the job done. But in dispatching him, they managed to do a couple of things. First, they paid off a major plot line for viewers that had invested two years in the story. And more importantly, as we move into the third season, they did so in a way that opens up a plethora of new avenues for our story to travel. That is where we find ourselves as we delve into the third season.
