Cancel everything and watch Sesame Street the rest of the day
I know a lot of people praise YouTube, but it's well-deserved praise. The site
has become a depository for just about any old clip from any show, commercial, or video you can think
of. In fact, there's a huge amount of Sesame Street clips on there, and one person has taken it upon
themselves to provide links to
almost one hundred classic and not-so-classic clips from the show. I'd like to say I was the one with that kind of
time on my hands, but I wasn't. I mean, I have that much time on my hands, I'm just too lazy to actually compile all
those videos. The clips include some favorites of mine, such as the Alligator King, Ladybug Picnic, Mahna Mahna, and Kermit's "News Flash"
segments, which I always thought were some of the funniest segments
on Sesame Street. No Muppet plays the straight man better than Kermit. Well, maybe Bert. Anyway, enjoy them
all.

The Muppet Show season two coming (probably)
While this amounts to a kind of "he said, she said" thing and no
official announcement has been made, Muppet News Flash is
reporting that the second season of The Muppet Show should be out this summer on DVD. The new set is being
delayed for the usual reasons, such as legal clearances, restoration, and gathering footage for supplemental features.
I guess the bottom line is, it will get here when it gets here, and it'll be worth the wait. The first season of the
popular show has sold exceptionally well, so hopefully we'll continue to see more.
The Five: Best Sesame Street songs
I suppose a piece about my favorite songs from Sesame Street wouldn't be
complete without an initial shout out to the late Joe
Raposo (pictured on the right), who composed a majority of the songs for the show, including the theme song.
You might not know who he is, but he's the man responsible for planting a lot of those childhood tunes in your
synapses. Let's kick it:Kermit The Frog turns 50
Wow, it seems like only yesterday that Kermit was...well, actually, to be honest, I never gave a second thought about what his "age" "really" "was." He's just green felt controlled by someone else's hands and I never really thought he was any age. But he turns 50 next month, and he gives an interview to the AP about hitting the half century mark and also plugs the new Muppet Show DVDs.
He doesn't get into any of his past adventures, like that affair with Liza Minnelli or his stay in rehab, but he does mention having exotic strippers at his party. LeBlanc, are you listening?
