There's nothing like an acrimonious celebrity divorce to put things into perspective; if soulmates like Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries can't make it work, what hope is there for the rest of us?

Everyone has a theory as to why the couple split after just 72 days of wedded bliss (we think their union was just bad for business), but TMZ is now reporting that Kardashian was still agonizing over the decision as late as Sunday night, changing her mind about filing the paperwork several times.

The alleged reason she finally went through with it? Because she was angry that Humphries had hired a Hollywood publicist to represent him, despite his protestations that he wanted a simple life in Minnesota. As she reportedly told a friend, "He's not in f*****g Hollywood, he plays sports!"

We're guessing she's feeling pretty good about insisting on an ironclad prenup before saying "I do," since the site also reports that Humphries won't get anything from Kardashian in the divorce -- not even the engagement ring.

After only 72 days of marriage, a four-hour wedding special and a $20 million wedding, reality star Kim Kardashian is filing for divorce from Kris Humphries, citing "irreconcilable differences."

Although the wedding was short, she will not seek an annulment, reports TMZ. According to the site, the date of the separation will be listed as Oct. 31, 2011.

Ryan Seacrest, the executive producer of 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians,' confirms the split, tweeting, "Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning. I touched base with her, getting a statement in just a few mins."
