Kris Jenner's damage control tour veered off course Thursday on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM ET on ABC) when she cavalierly advised Kim to keep the million-dollar ring Kris Humphries gave her. Previously, Kris had been saying all the right things, insisting that wedding gifts would be donated to charity and that the family didn't profit from the reality TV spectacle.

But she appeared to step in it on 'GMA,' when, responding to a rash of stories reporting that spurned-husband Kris would like the ring back, Jenner said, "Well, I hate an Indian giver. Don't you? I mean, it's a gift. Keep your gift," she said, laughing. We'll see how the comment resonates, but it seemed to strike a callous and possibly offensive tone.
