Cameron Crowe Reveals Lost Footage of Eddie Vedder and Kurt Cobain Together (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 9th 2011 10:00AM
'Pearl Jam Twenty' is an upcoming film by the band being directed by Cameron Crowe. While digging through the video archives, he found a bit of footage that surprised and delighted him, confirming a story that had become a bit of an urban legend. He brought the proof to 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC).As background, Crowe said, "I think the musicians all knew each other, but Kurt and Eddie Vedder had a little bit of a back and forth thing going on in the press. They also were friends on the side."
The footage he found was from the 1992 Video Music Awards, and showed a candid and somewhat odd moment of warmth the two men shared.
Right Now On Cinematical

The folks at our sister site, Cinematical, are working hard to give you news and reviews of the best -- and worst -- the silver screen has to offer. Here are some of their musings on the latest blockbusters, indies, and everything in between:- 'Twilight' star, Kristen Stewart, is appearing in a new film called, 'The Yellow Handkerchief.' But that, of course, doesn't mean that she gets to avoid questions about her next project, 'Breaking Dawn,' which is the final installment in the 'Twilight' saga.
- A new Martin Scorsese film should be cause for excitement, right? So why do I feel so apathetic about 'Shutter Island?' Cinematical reviews the new Leonardo DiCaprio film, here.
- As a woman who Loved 'Live Free or Die Hard' because of the copious amount of crap that blew up, but also really kind of wants to see 'Valentine's Day,' I have no idea what women want when it comes to the movies. Cinematical tries to figure it out.
- My favorite Serious Slo-Mo Walk? It has to be when the crew walks together in 'Reservoir Dogs.' What's yours?
- I'm honestly kind of surprised that it's taken this long to get a Kurt Cobain biopic, but now that we have one in the works, who should play the title character?
American Idol wants Courtney Love
by Anna Johns, posted Jan 31st 2007 8:27AM
This bit of news is according to Courtney Love and US Magazine... so two strikes against it already. Courtney tells the gossip rag that American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe contacted her about appearing as a judge. The magazine takes that to mean that Love will replace Paula Abdul but that sounds like a load of crap to me. I imagine that she's been invited to appear as a guest judge, which is a common practice for American Idol.Plus, she'll make Paula look good.
*Update: US magazine says an 'imposter' phoned Courtney, which makes a lot more sense than her appearing on American Idol.

Martha Stewart to invest in Nirvana?
by Karina Longworth, posted Dec 22nd 2005 2:54PM
From the Totally Unsubstantiated Rumor file: Page Six is
"reporting" this morning that a cashed-strapped Courtney Love - slimmed down and drug free but apparently
broke as all get out – is working on selling the rights to her late husband Kurt Cobain's musical output. This
comes after a messy, multi-year battle between Love and Cobain's former band mates Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic (as
well as original drummer Chad Channing, at least according to the Sixers) over the future of the Nirvana catalogue: if
I remember correctly, the boys wanted to put everything in the hands of the fans, whilst Love wanted to slowly parcel
out the outakes and rarities to ensure the maximum padding for Frances Bean's college fund. Page Six says Love is
looking for $100 million.TV Squad Hot Topics
