ABC Family's Greek gets more episodes

by Richard Keller, posted Aug 1st 2007 2:37PM

ABC Family has picked up 'Greek' for 10 more episodesIt seems that ABC Family has found its niche when it comes to original programming: focusing the teen and female teen markets. It has done this for Wildfire, Kyle XY and now, it seems, for the new dramedy Greek.

After posting a season high last week in several key demos, including teens and female teens, ABC Family has decided to order the back 10 episodes of Greek. The original order was for 10 episodes. The new shows, are set to air early in 2008.

Greek airs on Mondays at 9 pm and focuses on a college freshman and his sister as they venture through the fraternity and sorority system. I have never watched the show, so I'd like to know from the viewers out there if it should be given another episode run.

What I'm watching this summer: Isabelle's list

by Isabelle Carreau, posted Jun 8th 2007 12:40PM
Big BrotherSummer is here and so are new TV shows. I haven't watched summer TV for the past 16 years or so because I had a summer job away from home where there was one TV for about 200 persons (yikes!). Okay, I did watch some thanks to two VCRs, tons of tapes, and family members who went to my house a few times during the summer to change tapes and reprogram both VRCs. I know, I'm a TV addict.

Summer 2007 will be kind of special for me because the TV/me ratio will now be 4/1 and I'll be able to watch everything live. Granted that I don't get channels like HBO, Showtime, Sci Fi, and USA, I'm sure I'll still be able to watch a few entertaining series or should I say, reality shows?

More episodes for Kyle XY in season 2

by Richard Keller, posted May 12th 2007 4:04PM

A full season for Kyle XYABC Family is giving a little more love to Kyle XY, which became the most-watched original series on the network last year. According to The Hollywood Reporter the science-fiction program, which was given a 13-episode pickup last August, has been picked up for 10 more episodes. That's 23 episodes, folks. Pretty decent for a cable series.

Why the extension? According to Paul Lee, president over at ABC Family, it's due to the quality of the new episode; executives have been so delighted with the shows for season two that the order for new episodes was released. In addition, Lee states that Kyle XY has defined the network. I can believe that because before Kyle the network was known more for repeats of Step by Step than for original programming.

For those of you unfamiliar with Kyle XY, it chronicles the adventures of a mysterious teenager with superhuman powers (yes, another one of those) who has no memory or history of his past life. In the second season, which begins on June 11th, viewers will be introduced to some of Kyle's past and how he gained his abilities. The new order of episodes will air sometime early in 2008.

Kyle XY: Endgame (season finale)

by Michael Canfield, posted Aug 29th 2006 7:24AM
Kyle XY(S01E10) Last week Kyle and the Trager family were surprised when Kyle's "real" parents showed up. Now this couple offers mildly plausible explanations to why Kyle has no belly button, etc., -- but they haven't heard of Professor Kern or anybody or anything else Kyle has discovered on his own about his past. And they say Kyle's real name is Noah -- reason enough for him to want to stay with the Trager family.

We're promised that this episode will answer the question: "who is Kyle XY?" (Spoilers after the jump.)

Kyle XY: Overheard

by Michael Canfield, posted Aug 22nd 2006 12:30AM
Kyle XY(S01E09) Kyle and the rest get a little closer to the mystery of his origins, and the tension ramps up here in the final episode before the season finale.

Last week we left off in a secret underground lair, where evil agents of "the company", are surprised to discover that the "subject" (Kyle) they had believed terminated two months ago, is still alive. Kyle's torn between his curiosity and of heeding Foss' s advice to keep what little he knows of his past secret in order to protect his foster family, the Tragers. His feigned new lack of curiosity in his origins leads his foster Mom and therapist, Nicole, to fear he is regressing, and is beyond her help.
