Shark Week 2011: Break Out the Floss (VIDEO)

by Chris Harnick, posted Jul 5th 2011 6:00PM
Shark WeekShark Week is right around the corner -- thank goodness! -- and with it comes a brand new promo. This isn't just any new promo. No, Discovery has tapped Lady Gaga's 'Teeth' as background to clips of sharks biting things.

With lyrics as descriptive as "Show me your teeth!" it's quite fitting actually. However, this isn't the first time Lady Gaga's 'Teeth' has been used to promote a popular program involving sharp-toothed stars. Nope, The CW did it with 'The Vampire Diaries' and it was equally appropriate.

Watch both promos below. Shark Week begins July 31 at 9PM.

'So You Think You Can Dance' Nabs Lady Gaga as Guest Judge

by Catherine Lawson, posted Jul 4th 2011 9:30AM
Lady GagaLady Gaga has already dished out the advice as a guest mentor on the 'American Idol' this year, and now we hear that she'll be bringing her brand of theatricality to 'So You Think You Can Dance' later on this summer.

A Fox source told 'Entertainment Weekly' that Lady Gaga will be a guest judge on 'SYTYCD' sometime before the talent show's Season 8 Finale in August.

Judge Nigel Lythgoe hinted at a Gaga appearance during a recent interview with Yahoo. He said she'll "give great advice on how to handle yourself, how to be creatve with what you do, and how to be a fabulous performer. She has actually done what I want these [contestants] to do, which is get an audience behind them."

Lady Gaga Dons Blue Merkin at 'MuchMusic Video Awards,' List of Winners (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 20th 2011 2:34AM
Lady GaGa, '2011 MuchMusic Video Awards'So ... there's that. Lady Gaga took another approach to visualizing the message of her hit single 'Born This Way' on 'The 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards' (Sun., 9PM ET on Fuse). This time around, she seemed to focus on the natural beauty of body hair.

Her female dancers appeared to have unshaven armpits, and Gaga herself took it a step further. Let's just say the carpet matched the drapes, and in this case the drapes were a bright blue.

We're not talking about a wardrobe malfunction either, as the blue hair adorning her crotch and armpits was clearly not real.

Jackie Evancho, Adorably, Feels Bad For Knocking Lady Gaga Down the Charts (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 13th 2011 2:05PM
Jackie Evancho sings Puccini's 'O Mio Babbino Caro' on 'Today'Jackie Evancho clearly has the voice to be a successful pop singer, but the eleven-year-old former 'America's Got Talent' contestant may need to sharpen her elbows if she really wants to get to the top. Evancho appeared Monday on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) to talk about her new album, 'Dream With Me,' which, despite an official June 14 release date, is already the number one album on Amazon.com.

When asked how it felt to be beating out Lady Gaga and Adele, Evancho was happy, but slightly guilty. "It feels amazing," she said, "and I kind of feel sad. Because I'm kicking them out of their spot."

Lady Gaga Performs and Answers Fan Questions on 'GMA' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted May 27th 2011 1:35PM
Lady Gaga on 'Good Morning America'Lady Gaga gave her fans the usual spectacle in her performance this morning on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM on ABC), which included several dancers, costumes and gliding over the audience to the stage via a zip line. She stuck around afterward to answer questions from her fans about her music and career.

One fan wrote to ask what career Gaga would have pursued if she weren't famous. "I would still be a singer, I just wouldn't be famous," she said. "That would be so awful, wouldn't it? if I just gave up because nobody bought my music? I mean, I just really love what I do."

A quick costume change and it was back to the music, this time in a shiny pointy black jacket and a kind of cheetah-at-the-beach ensemble.

Lady Gaga Talks Her Artistic Drive and Always Wanting to Be a Pop Star (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 27th 2011 12:44AM
'Lady Gaga: Inside the Outside'Lady Gaga has created one of the most unique artistic experiences with her pop star persona. It's so ingrained into how she chooses to be perceived that the outlandish costumes and even body-morphing face prosthetics are with her during any appearance, including her new documentary special, 'Lady Gaga: Inside the Outside' (Thu., 9PM ET on MTV).

It was something she developed even before hitting the big-time, and it's a vision she will not compromise. "I would work endlessly toward this experience with music, with songwriting, with performance art, and how I could bridge fashion and technology and pop culture into one performance and then make it commercial," she said.

Lady Gaga Falls From 'The Edge of Glory' on 'American Idol' Finale (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 26th 2011 1:30AM
Lady Gaga & Mark Kanemura, 'American Idol' finaleAs expected, Laday Gaga kept it weird on the 'American Idol' (Wed., 8PM ET on FOX) season finale. She performed her new single, 'The Edge of Glory,' from atop a makeshift cliff, starting off with a bizarre headpiece that made her head look like it was the same shape as Stewie's from 'Family Guy.'

She stayed up there throughout the entire performance, though she still managed to strike some very shocking poses for a family show. Halfway through the performance, one of her dancers made his way up there with her, and it was none other than former 'So You Think You Can Dance' contestant Mark Kanemura.

He was always such a strange and unique performer on the show, we couldn't have picked a better place for his career to take him. Gaga and he got very intimate as the song came to a close, climaxing with a dramatic fall from the cliff.

Lady Gaga Clears Up Which Rumors Are True and Which Are Lies on 'Late Show' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 24th 2011 4:08AM
Lady Gaga, 'Late Show with David Letterman'David Letterman ran through a list of rumors about Lady Gaga on 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS) so she could clear up the truths from the lies. She was very casual and calm in her replies, but Letterman was stunned by some of them.

On her meat dress being preserved as beef jerky: "Yes." On if she relaxes by fly fishing: "No." Did she eat a Barbie doll's head during a stage production? "Yes. All the time."

At this, Letterman had to stop as he simply refused to believe it. So Gaga took the questions and proceeded to tear them up. Then, as he was looking for another one, she put the paper in her mouth and started to chew, refusing to spit it out. "It's delicious," she insisted.

Lady Gaga Talks About Being Bullied at School on 'The View' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted May 23rd 2011 3:30PM
Lady Gaga on 'The View'Lady Gaga said today on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated) that she was bullied at school as a kid, even though she had a "nice group of friends." It was an experience that has stuck with her as an adult, influenced her decisions and her self-esteem, and even had an effect on how she communicated with her fans.

"I don't think I realized how deeply it affected me until I started to become more successful," said Gaga. "And suddenly there's lots of pressure and I had to be a role model and look inside myself and say, well, what do I have to offer?"

Gaga said she felt like she didn't have much to offer for a long time, and she recognizes that some of her fans are having similar struggles. In the music, she said, both Gaga and her fans "find liberation from our challenges and our identity struggles." In her previous identity, Gaga would not have been able to wear 10-inch platform shoes. Now the only problem is not falling.

'SNL Digital Short': '3-Way' With Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga and Andy Samberg (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 23rd 2011 4:14AM
Andy Samberg, Justin Timberlake & Lady Gaga, 'Saturday Night Live'When Justin Timberlake was announced as the host for the season finale of 'Saturday Night Live' (Sat., 11:30PM ET on NBC), we suspected there was a chance for a recurrence of the characters he and Andy Samberg made famous across two 'Digital Shorts.'

What we didn't expect was that not only would they be joined by their recent lovers from the 'Motherlover' short, Susan Sarandon and Patricia Clarkson, but that musical guest Lady Gaga would join them in the song and the gag.

The new premise finds our favorite out-of-fashion mack daddies leaving their motherlovers behind to foray into the next frontier in lovemaking. "3-Way (The Golden Rule)" followed they boys on a sexual adventure with Gaga and one another -- It's okay, because it's not gay when it's a three-way.

Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga Shine in the 'Saturday Night Live' Season Finale

by Joel Keller, posted May 22nd 2011 12:00PM
Last night, 'Saturday Night Live' aired its 36th season finale, and the writers and producers saved one of the best episodes of the season for last.

Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga on the season 36 finale of 'Saturday Night Live'
The presence of perennial favorite host Justin Timberlake gave the writers license to bring back characters that are very familiar to regular 'SNL' watchers. It's the ultimate sign that Timberlake is quickly becoming this generation's version of 'SNL' hosting stalwarts Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin.

But added to the mix was the presence of Lady Gaga, who not only performed two songs, but did a fine job in a number of sketches, as well. Do we have a new recurring host in the making?

After the jump, we'll give you a selection of videos from last night's finale. In the comments, give us your thoughts on how JT and Gaga did on the show.

100 Most Powerful Celebrities List: Which TV Stars Made the Cut?

by Catherine Lawson, posted May 19th 2011 8:00AM
Bethenny FrankelForbes has published its annual list of the 100 Most Powerful Celebrities List, and this year it contains a few shockers: Oprah's been knocked off the top spot, there's a teenager in the Top 3, and reality star Bethenny Frankel makes the cut.

Oprah Winfrey's ceded poll position to Lady Gaga, despite earning roughly three times as much.

Gaga's moved up from No. 4 on the list, which measures celebrity power through a combination of entertainment-related earnings, media visibility and social media popularity.

Although 'Forbes' estimated Gaga's earnings in the last year as $90 million -- as opposed to Oprah's mighty $290 million -- it also noted the huge importance of her 32 million Facebook fans and 10 million Twitter followers.

'Forbes' editor Dorothy Pomerantz explained that, "Lady Gaga beat Oprah this year because of her social media power. She can use Twitter and Facebook to work the 'little monsters' into a frenzy that leads to record sales and media attention. She's the best example of how celebrities will need to manage their careers in the coming years."

Lady Gaga Proves a Bit Too Much for Scotty McCreery on 'American Idol' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 11th 2011 11:40PM
Lady Gaga & Scotty McCreery, 'American Idol'Jimmy Iovine summed it up best on 'American Idol' (Wed., 8PM ET on FOX) when he said, "Scotty McCreery. Lady Gaga. I couldn't think of a better fit."

The two are coming from such opposite ends of the spectrum, it was bound to be uncomfortable when they collided during Gaga's mentor stint this week. McCreery did a lot of awkward laughing, smiling and doing the best he could to look anywhere but directly at Gaga. Apparently, that's just too much for him to handle.

Gaga lost him with her advice as well, telling him to think of the microphone as his girlfriend. "Keep your mouth on that microphone like your life depends on it or that b**** gonna leave you."

'American Idol' airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8PM ET on FOX.
