Jim Parsons Says Watching 'Real Housewives' Makes Him Really Uncomfortable (VIDEO)

by Catherine Lawson, posted Oct 13th 2011 7:45AM
Jim Parsons, 'Late Late Show'Craig Ferguson was grilling Jim Parsons about his TV viewing habits on 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS) when he discovered that the 'Big Bang Theory' star is not a fan of reality TV shows.

Parsons said he can't watch 'Real Housewives,' for example, because "I find it very upsetting. ... It makes me really uncomfortable."

Ferguson's obviously not a 'Real Housewives' fan either, referring to it as "a really terrible product." However, it doesn't seem to provoke the same remote-grabbing reaction from him. Parsons' dislike of the show is so great that even if he's just walking past a TV showing it, he just has to change the channel immediately.

Jenna Elfman Loves Getting to Make Out With 'Cute Boys' on Movie Sets (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 21st 2011 9:15AM
Jenna Elfman and Craig FergusonThere are certain perks to being a movie star, and Jenna Elfman has been very lucky to enjoy one of the big ones. "I get to make out with awesome guys a lot," she said on 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS).

Luckily, her husband of 20 years is also in the acting business, so he understands. As strange as it is that Elfman says she tells her husband, "I'm gonna go make out with him today," about whoever her co-star is, at the same time it makes for a good level of honesty in their marriage.

"Am I supposed to pretend that I don't like making out with all these cute boys when I come home?" Elfman asked Craig Ferguson. "I cannot live with those secrets."

That statement probably has a lot to do with why her husband is so okay with what she does. She's so completely open and honest in their relationship, how could he not trust her implicitly?

Magician Lance Burton Totally Freaks Out Craig Ferguson (VIDEO)

by Catherine Lawson, posted May 27th 2011 6:40AM
Lance Burton on 'Late Late Show'Master magician Lance Burton apppeared on 'The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson' (Weeknights, 12:35AM ET on CBS) and managed to make the host scream.

Burton performed a card trick and began by asking Craig Ferguson to imagine that the cards in the palm of his hand were the walls and ceiling of his house.

When asked what's on the ceiling of his house, Ferguson replied, "beams." Burton then asked what would be on top of the beams and revealed the next card, which depicted a spider web.

Ferguson was a willing assistant in the illusion, which required him to make a "magic noise" to get rid of the spider web. We're not sure if it really was his Boris Karloff impression or Burton's powers that did the trick, but the spider web card was revealed to be magically web-free.

Jeff Goldblum and Craig Ferguson Play a Game of 'True or False'Jeff Goldblum was the guest on 'The Late Late Show' (12:37AM ET on CBS). 1) True or false -- Jeff Goldblum once bought an accordion in Yugoslavia.

2) True or false -- Craig Ferguson's arm tattoo goes "all the way around" to his penis.

3) True or false -- Craig Ferguson is circumcised.

Russell Crowe Has an Idea -- Add Naked Women to Everything! (VIDEO)

Russell Crowe Has an Idea -- Add Naked Women to Everything!Craig Ferguson is a weird guy. And like so many weird guys from the United Kingdom, he's a big fan of the insanely complicated sci-fi series 'Doctor Who.' (If you're saying 'Doctor Who?" to yourself right now, that's because the show has never become as popular here as it is in the U.K. Here's a brief guide to the show should you need it.)

But Russell Crowe is from Australia, which is like a tougher version of the U.K., so it stands to reason that he doesn't share Craig's geeky sci-fi enthusiasm. On 'Late Late Show' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS), Russell makes a simple recommendation: Add naked women to get him interested in stuff!

Craig Ferguson Is Jealous of George Lopez (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Nov 16th 2010 10:19AM
Craig Ferguson Is Jealous of George LopezIt's talk show host versus talk show host on the new 'Lopez Tonight' (weeknights, 12AM ET on TBS). Well, not really. Guest Craig Ferguson and host George Lopez get along. It's just that Craig is a little jealous of George.

You'd think that network star Ferguson wouldn't be jealous of basic cable host Lopez -- but you'd be wrong. Craig seems very impressed with George's plush digs: "The dressing room area in your show is bigger than my studio."

Craig was also impressed by the 'Lopez Tonight' audience -- "Everybody here is clean looking." The Scottish talk show host also revealed his secret for getting audience members to come to his own show: "We go around the dumpsters of Los Angeles and we gather whatever hobos are there -- and we ... pretend we're going to give them free chicken."

Jennifer Love HewittJennifer Love Hewitt stopped by 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson' (weeknights, 12:35AM ET on CBS) to clear up a few rumors.

The star of 'Ghost Whisperer' wanted to set the record straight on a gossip item: She is not dating Burt Reynolds, the two just happened to be having dinner at the same restaurant. Hewitt hasn't even met the actor. However, if she had met Reynolds, Ferguson said she'd be singing a different tune.

"If you met him, you'd be ... like, 'I'd be happy to date Burt Reynolds,'" Ferguson said. "Because I've met Burt Reynolds and I'm straight but I was like, 'I'd go gay for you, Burt.'" Ferguson's reason? Reynolds' hair. Interesting indeed ...

According to the Hollywood Reporter, 'Glee' was one of 36 outstanding series, documentaries, websites and news reports that the distinguished group spotlighted as the best in electronic media for 2009, during a ceremony held at the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication on Mar. 31.

Jay Leno's 'Tonight Show' Return Is a Ratings Winner

by Gary Susman, posted Mar 2nd 2010 2:30PM
Jay LenoMeet the new boss, same as the old boss.

To no one's surprise, Jay Leno's much-heralded return to 'The Tonight Show' on Monday was a ratings success, at least according to early overnight numbers. According to the Hollywood Reporter, advance numbers show Leno winning his timeslot with a 5.4 rating in metered market households and a rating of 2.0 among adults 18-49. That easily beat the 3.0 household rating for 'The Late Show With David Letterman' on CBS and the ABC ratings (cited by Entertainment Weekly) of 3.4 for 'Nightline' and 1.8 for 'Jimmy Kimmel Live.'

Leno's return had coattails too. Following 'Tonight,' NBC's 'Late Night With Jimmy Fallon' posted a 2.1 rating, twice its fourth-quarter 2009 average and enough to beat usual timeslot victor 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson' by 40 percent.

Did Craig Ferguson Ditch Audience to Save Money? Rep Calls Charge "Laughable"

by Gary Susman, posted Feb 26th 2010 4:10PM
As brilliant an hour of television as Craig Ferguson's Tuesday night show was - featuring just Craig and a single guest, fellow wit and raconteur Stephen Fry, chatting for an hour before no audience - could it be that the episode was less an experiment in reviving old-school Tom Snyder/Dick Cavett-style TV conversation and more an experiment in cutting costs?

That was the spin according to a report from Radar Online. The website quotes an unnamed insider as saying that 'The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson' has to pay audience members $20 each to fill some 50 seats at each night's taping, that such a practice is unique among late-night talk shows, and that Tuesday's show was more about saving CBS $1,000 on seat-fillers than about creating a more highbrow hour of television.

AOL TV did some digging of our own and found that, while there is a kernel of truth to this story -- CBS does sometimes pay seat-fillers to attend 'Late Late Show' tapings -- it's not a unique practice, though it's also not a routine one at the 'Late Late Show,' and was not the reason for taping Tuesday's show in an empty studio.

Eddie Izzard Shows Up on 'Craig Ferguson' (VIDEO)

Craig Ferguson, Eddie Izzard, Liza MinnelliEddie Izzard showed up unexpectedly on 'The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS). Ordinarily, you'd think these two guys getting together would be a barrel of monkeys, but the joke about the cardboard faces on sticks sort of fell flat.

Ok, we'll admit that Liza Minnelli as Craig Ferguson's face was mildly amusing. But the chemistry/geography/mathematics bit just flatlined for us. Your take?
