Stephen Colbert Likely to Decline Invite to Participate in Wisconsin Protest (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Feb 23rd 2011 6:30AM
On 'The Colbert Report' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on Comedy Central), Stephen Colbert responded to a sign from the continuing protest in Wisconsin over public sector union rights that requested he come to Wisconsin and join up with the cause. The sign read "Stewart/Colbert we came to your rally now come to ours," in a reference to the Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear that Colbert and Jon Stewart held last October in Washington, DC.
"First of all it's Stephen Colbert, I don't know who 'Stewart Colbert' is, get it right" Colbert quipped, in response to the protesters 1,000 miles away.
Then he explained he would only come to their rally in the unlikely event they booked Ozzy Osbourne, Cat Stevens, Sheryl Crow and the O'Jays, all of whom performed at the Rally to Restore Sanity.
It's a late night love fest for Leno and Kimmel
by Bob Sassone, posted Jan 6th 2008 3:04PM
Hmmm...this news seems really strange to me.
Bill Carter over at the New York Times is reporting that Jay Leno and Jimmy Kimmel are going to be on each other's shows on Thursday night, January 10. It was Leno who invited Kimmel on the show and Kimmel accepted. I guess since both shows don't have writers they're looking for a way to fill up some time, and to get another late night host as a guest not only accomplishes that it's a great gimmick to get people to tune in too.
