Five possibilities for the final Cylon
by Anna Johns, posted May 9th 2008 1:02PM
I was in the shower thinking about Battlestar Galactica the other day. The thought occupying my mind was: Who is the final Cylon? That is the big mystery this season, after all.The writers of BSG have a huge challenge in choosing the final Cylon. They already shocked us with the season finale last year when we learned that Tigh, Chief, Torre and Sam are Cylons. Who could possibly be more shocking than that? The final Cylon can't be some character who suddenly appears this season and has a major role, just so he/she can be the final Cylon. I truly doubt it's either Pres. Roslin or Adm. Adama because that might be too over-the-top and therefore unbelievable. Of course, the writers could easily take us there over the season and make it shocking, yet believable. (These BSG writers really do rock, don't they?)
So, I thought about it. And here are the five characters who would make a shocking final Cylon:

(S03E18) Since Ron Moore's podcast came out a few days ago, I'll do a little bit of recap of what he said along with the review.
Something that Battlestar does well that has bothered me with some other shows is how, when we have a primary cast of characters amongst a much larger involved population, I'm not left wondering why more background cast doesn't come forward more often. There's a decent balance here. It makes sense why someone like Kara is so highly mourned and regarded, while some other pilots aren't so much. And when a background character comes forward, it's done at the right time and place where it fits.

(S03E11) You could tell right away from the "previously on" that this was going to be a huge episode. Not that it being the fall finale wasn't enough. Though would you put it past them to end this with a huge cliffhanger? I didn't think so.

(S03E09) Gods that's a classic image to remember, isn't it? Who would've thought that Roslin was a pot head? Anyway, I digress...
This episode was a lot better than the previews made it out to be. A few commenters complained when they saw it was going to be "the boxing episode," but once the smoke cleared it was evident that this was actually a very well crafted part of a love story, along with a well needed bit of talking to the troops by the admiral.
