'Dancing With the Stars': It's 'Story Night,' As a New Couple Takes the Lead (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted Oct 5th 2010 4:00AM
It's Story Night once again on 'Dancing With the Stars' (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC). The return of this theme meant that each couple's performance had to tell a tale ... in musical form. Last season's Story Night brought us the horrifying spectacle of Kate Gosselin dancing to 'Paparazzi' -- which was a notable train-wreck ... although it did give us this really awesome parody. But that's all in the past now. What would tonight bring for our contestants?[Warning: Spoiler alert.]
Front-runners Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough did well, as always, getting a 24 out of 30. But the real star of the night was Audrina Patridge, who wowed the audience with her rendition of the waltz. Patridge and Tony Dovolani's dance "story" involved a tribute to fallen American soliders and their families. While the "story" section was a little mystifying -- it involved the Smoke Monster from 'Lost,' for some reason -- the dance itself was extremely moving.
Michael Bolton: 'Dancing With the Stars' Judge Should Apologize (VIDEO)
by Michael Maloney, posted Sep 29th 2010 2:00PM
It didn't come as a big surprise that Michael Bolton got the boot on 'Dancing With the Stars' last night. The singer and his dance partner Chelsie Hightower scored a mere 12 points doing a jive on Monday night. Host Tom Bergeron gave judge Bruno Tonioli an opportunity to amend, apologize for or even retract the harsh comment he gave Bolton on Monday's show (he called their jive "the worst ... in 11 seasons"). Instead, Tonioli held his ground.
Bolton called the judge's remarks "inappropriate" and "disrespectful."
On 'Good Morning America,' Bolton demanded an apology from Tonioli. "You heard the tone. Even Len [Goodman] stopped him and said, 'That's inappropriate,'" he said. "I think he should apologize publicly and be reprimanded for it."

Another week, another eliminated contestant on 'Dancing With the Stars' (Tue., 8PM ET on ABC). Tonight, it all came down to a choice between Pamela Anderson and Erin Andrews. Only one of them could make the cut, and it was a tough decision for the judges.
A Perfect Score on 'Dancing With the Stars' (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted May 4th 2010 1:55AM
The highest score that a couple can receive on 'Dancing With the Stars' (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC) is 30 points. That's a perfect score of ten from each of the three judges. Which is exactly what partners Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya got on the latest episode of the show.Erin and Maksim Get in Trouble With a Judge on 'Dancing With the Stars' (VIDEO)

Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy remain coy about whether they're dating or not. But on 'Dancing With the Stars,' (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC), the pair stood together. Judge Len Goodman was not a huge fan of their latest dance. Goodman said this to Andrews: "I've given you a '7' every week. ...You're going to get another '7' tonight." Chmerkovskiy did not seem pleased, and threw part of his costume in the direction of the judges' table. (Read what the stars had to say in our performance report.)Watch the video after the jump.
Kate Gosselin Gets in Trouble Again on 'Dancing With the Stars' (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted Apr 20th 2010 3:30AM
Despite her many recent controversies, Kate Gosselin is still a contestant on 'Dancing With the Stars' (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC). But she's still having problems on the show. Despite her best efforts, Gosselin once again got low scores from all the judges.Watch the video after the jump.
Kate Gosselin Tries to Show Some Emotion on 'Dancing With the Stars' (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted Apr 5th 2010 11:30PM
Kate Gosselin apparently has a little pent-up emotion stored inside her. Maybe it's a result of her time on 'Jon & Kate Plus 8,' or maybe not. But at any rate, she's been having trouble expressing emotion while performing on 'Dancing With the Stars' (Mon., 8PM ET on ABC). So Gosselin consulted with an acting coach in order to help let her inner feelings out.Watch the video after the jump.

(S09E20) It's the finals of Dancing with the Stars and the trophy was placed in front of the judge's table. Tom announces that three couples have three new dances; technically Mya was part of Team Paso Doble in week seven. The second round was the megamix, and I would rather have them return to the group dance-off format. The three couples dancing at the same time was too much to handle. I missed individuality.
I was very disappointed with the Freestyle round. There's free reign and it didn't seem like anyone even took it. I was expecting Kelly to rock out and Mya to pull off a tasteful hip-hop piece. Alas, I got neither.
Mya and Dmitry's Salsa Earns 2nd Perfect Score on 'Dancing with the Stars' (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Nov 17th 2009 9:23AM
R&B singer Mya and partner Dmitry Chaplin turned in a spicy rendition of the salsa on 'Dancing with the Stars' that earned them a perfect score, making this the second consecutive week the duo earned top marks for a dance number. But for judge Len Goodman, the highlight of their performance was less about footwork, and more about a certain part of Mya's anatomy. "I've got to say, tutti frutti, what a booty," Goodman said. "I was mesmerized by your buttocks. I couldn't stop looking at them."

Recap: Dancing with the Stars - Performance 8

(S09E16) Dancing with the Stars is only two weeks away from the finals. With only five contestants left, each have to perform two dances to ensure that we fit the two hour block. The two dances consist of one ballroom and one Latin routine. The biggest flaw with having two dances was that everyone spent all their time making sure that the Latin dance was amazing, and their ballroom dances felt lazy.
I'm shocked to see the seven paddle still around with only five contestants left. This season's quality level was nowhere near Shawn Johnson, Gilles Marini, and Melissa Rycroft last season.

(S09E12) Dancing with the Stars had the Waltz or Jitterbug for individual dancing, but the big twist tonight was the Mambo group competition. All the couples will dance the mambo at the same time. The judges determine the elimination: as the couples dance, Len holds up a paddle and that team is eliminated. The first couple cut gets two points while the last team standing earns ten.As the contestants walk down, both Louie Vito and Chelsie Hightower trip on the way down. It's a bad omen and never a good way to start the show.

(S09E10) After reading news about Derek Hough getting sick, we start Dancing with the Stars with Joanna walking down the stairs with Maksim Chmerkovskiy in hand. Turns out that flu-like symptoms hit Mark, as well, but he recovered quickly enough. It's a night of passion and hi-jinks with the Argentine Tango, Paso Doble, and the Hustle. I was disappointed with the order. The last five solos consisted of four Argentine Tangos and one Paso Doble.
I don't often like complaining about Samantha Harris but I really have to suggest that she goes back to classic straight hair and tasteful dress. She's no Cat Deeley.
