On Friday, The New York Times reported that General Electric paid no U.S. federal income tax in 2010, despite earning $14.2 billion in profits. While the article got a ton of play across the media, Jon Stewart and 'The Daily Show's (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central) crack team of video-watchers found that there was one particular media organization that completely ignored this stunning revelation on the day the news broke.
And that would be NBC. Which is owned by ... GE.
Lester Holt Cracks Up Co-Anchors on 'Today' (VIDEO)
by Donald Deane, posted Mar 12th 2010 3:00PM
During a segment on Spanx for men on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM ET on NBC), anchor Lester Holt uses a colloquial phrase to indicate that he's never heard of the popular undergarment, which is used for shaping and slimming. Holt's saying cracks up his co-anchors, including Al Roker, who congratulates Holt with a fist bump. "If I'm lying, I'm flying, my mama's home crying," Holt said, promising that he has no idea what Spanx are.

30 Rock: Cleveland
by Anna Johns, posted Apr 20th 2007 11:29AM
(S01E20) Poor Liz Lemon. Things were going so well for her over the last two episodes: She had snagged a boyfriend by pretending to be an alcoholic! This week, everything is crumbling for dear Liz and I really hated to see it. I know one of the basic points of humor in the show is the way Lemon is perceived as a loser by her co-workers, but the humor also worked when she was doing well and everyone else was in a frenzy.I didn't find "Cleveland" nearly as funny as the super-sized "Fireworks" episode two weeks ago, but it was still pretty good. The best sources of humor in this show are Kenneth the Page and Tracy Jordan, neither of which had a very prominent role this week. In "Cleveland", 30 Rock struck a slightly more serious note with Liz facing two major dilemmas: 1) Her boyfriend is moving, and 2) Her boss is marrying a gold-digger with a fake British accent. By the end of the episode, she faces a third dilemma: Tracy Jordan is missing.
