Wayne Brady Struck By Laughing Fit on 'Let's Make a Deal' (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 4th 2011 12:30PM
Wayne Brady had a good laugh at his own expense Tuesday on 'Let's Make a Deal' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). It all started when announcer Jonathan Mangum read an absurd fictional passage from Brady's "diary" that included a note about him "breaking a nail while jazzercising in the East Wing," and rubbing his fingers in Jamiroquai's porridge.

Brady doubled over in laughter listening to the bit as soft piano music played. "It's that jazzercise getting to you, isn't it," Mangum quipped. Brady took about 20 seconds to compose himself, and when he finally stopped laughing, couldn't really string a sentence together and blanked on what the clue was.

Contestant Trades Vespa for a Car on 'Let's Make A Deal' (VIDEO)

Contestant wins a car on 'Let's Make A Deal'Whatever choice she made, Valorie was going to have a ride home Thursday on 'Let's Make A Deal' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). She had her pick between $900 in cash plus a Vespa S-50 worth $3,469, or she could roll the dice on a curtain. She chose wisely and came out with a much better haul.

"Now, you have the opportunity to keep what you have or go with whatever's behind curtain number two," said host Wayne Brady. Valorie chose curtain number two, which turned out to be hiding a Toyota Yaris, worth $16,658, which can go 344 miles on one tank of gas.

Valorie, who was dressed for a pajama party, rushed the stage with her friends, prompting Brady to ask, "Is she old enough to drive?" At least with the Yaris, she won't need a helmet.

Baseball Coach Loses the Big Deal on 'Let's Make A Deal' (VIDEO)

Christopher and Wayne Brady on 'Let's Make A Deal'Christopher made some good choices early Friday on 'Let's Make A Deal' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). He passed on an envelope full of fake money and wound up with a motorcycle. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there on his way to the Big Deal.

Christopher, dressed at a baseball coach, gave up his motorcycle for a chance at the Big Deal. "Point toward the door that you know, that you know the Big Deal is behind," said host Wayne Brady. "The Big Deal that made you give up your motorcycle worth $7,090."

Christopher chose curtain number one, and while that wasn't bad, it wasn't the Big Deal. He won a modern office set-up, with a desktop computer with a touchscreen display, wireless printer, and a desk with a Herman Miller chair. The Big Deal turned out to be - what else? - a car (a Suzuki Crossover) and a trip (to Canada). If he's productive enough in his new office, Christopher might be able to afford those things on his own.

Man in Popcorn Costume Beats Wayne Brady to Win Kia Rio on 'Let's Make A Deal' (VIDEO)

Carl tries to fit into a Kia Rio on 'Let's Make A Deal'A contestant named Carl, dressed as what we think was a bag of popcorn, bested all comers, including host Wayne Brady, to win a Kia Rio Wednesday on 'Let's Make A Deal' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). Playing a high card/low card game, Carl beat out a woman dressed as a sailor for a Honda scooter, but gave that up for a chance to win a car.

First, he would have to make it past Brady in that same high card/low card game. Carl got to pick for both of them, and chose what turned out to be a two for Brady, making it nearly impossible for him to lose. Carl drew a six.

"You know what Carl?" asked Brady, taking the makeshift box part of Carl's costume. "Throw this down, go get your car. Get out of here." Turns out Carl won't be able to take a victory lap in costume; it wouldn't fit in the Rio. Maybe next time, he'll get an SUV.

Little Old Lady Wins a Trip to New Orleans and a Beetle on 'Let's Make a Deal' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 21st 2011 6:10PM
Rena and Wayne Brady on 'Let's Make A Deal'Rena may have looked like a sweet little old lady in her red hat and purple shirt, but she was shrewd contestant Tuesday on 'Let's Make a Deal' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). She made it all the way to the Big Deal, where she made the choices to allow her to take home a trip to New Orleans and a Volkswagen Beetle.

First, host Wayne Brady offered $900 in cash to woo Rena away from her curtain. She wouldn't take it. Behind that curtain was a game room worth $6,581. Rena gave it up for a shot at a bigger prize and chose curtain number two.

She could have had any prize behind the curtain, but she made the right choice. Curtain three was a pair of motor scooters -- probably not Rena's speed. Curtain one was a new living room set -- nice, but not thrilling. The Big Deal was the car and the trip, worth $27,054. And the car matched her outfit nicely.

Purple Fairy Wins Kia Soul on 'Let's Make A Deal' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 20th 2011 5:20PM
Wayne Brady and Chrissy the Purple Fairy on 'Let's Make A Deal' Fairies are a highly intelligent species, so it's not surprising that Chrissy the Purple Fairy was not confused by Wayne Brady's attempts to mislead her Monday on 'Let's Make A Deal' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). Brady had a few street signs to help with his misdirection: one pointed to Curtain 1 and was labeled "worth at least $300," while the sign for Curtain 2 read "has four wheels."

Chrissy, who had a photo of Brady pinned to her chest, did not take the "four wheels," which turned out to be a giant chicken pulling a covered wagon. Something like that isn't much use to a Purple Fairy, who already has wings. She also wasn't fooled by the Big Box, and stuck with Curtain 1. The Big Box turned out to be three scarecrows.

The prize behind Curtain 1 turned out to have four wheels, also, but a much higher Blue Book value. It was a Kia Soul, which is apparently a style favored by Purple Fairies.

Two Contestants Pass on Easy Money, Win Cars on 'Let's Make A Deal' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 3rd 2011 6:15PM
A woman wins a car on 'Let's Make A Deal'Two contestants resisted temptation for easy money today on 'Let's Make A Deal' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) and it paid off. Host Wayne Brady put cash in their hands and tried to lure them away from a mystery choice, but they stayed put and each of the two contestants wound up winning a car.

Brady offered the first contestant, dressed as a policewoman, five hundred dollars to give up what was in the box. He kept increasing his offer, from $700 to $2000, but police lady kept the box and won a Toyota Yaris.

Brady got tricky with the next contestant, who was dressed as a farm girl, offering her 4,000 Brazilian reals for what was behind a curtain. The money would have been $2,371, but instead, she got a Chevy Aveo. We're guessing they learned their lessons from a couple yesterday that lost out on two cars by taking the easy money.

Newlywed Couple Loses Out on Two Cars on 'Let's Make a Deal' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 2nd 2011 5:15PM
A couple loses out on two cars on 'Let's Make A Deal'There must be some physical law about balancing the number of automobiles won or lost on game shows in a particular day. Earlier today, a woman won two cars on 'The Price Is Right.' Today on 'Let's Make a Deal' (weekdays, syndicated), a couple lost out on two cars, choosing the sure thing in cash as opposed to what was behind a couple of curtains.

The couple, dressed as penguins, stuck with curtain 1 through a few different offers, including a bankroll of $1,020, a small mystery box, and curtain number 3. Curtain number 3 turned out to be a 2011 VW Jetta.

Flash or Splash Leads to Heartbreak and Elation on 'Let's Make a Deal' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 1st 2011 6:00PM
Wayne Brady on 'Let's Make A Deal''Let's Make a Deal' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) can be a complicated shell game, which is kind of the point. Today's show was a good example of that, when two women, Margaret and Laurie, started out having to choose between "Flash" or "Splash," and wound up having to choose between one of those and cash or curtain.

Because Margaret was wearing a Flash-like costume, she chose Flash to start with. "Splash" turned out to be a trip to St. Thomas. Then it was Flash or Cash. And the cash turned out to be $2,100. The choice then became Flash or Curtain Number Two, with no clue for what was behind the curtain. "Could be good, could be bad, you don't know," said host Wayne Brady, who then gave them a third option: $900 from his pocket.

Margaret took the $900, and Laurie took Curtain Number Two. Laurie came out the better of the two, but we'll let you watch to find out what she won.

Wayne Brady: 'Let's Make a Deal' Winners Can Get Handsier Than the TSA (VIDEO)

Wayne Brady of 'Let's Make A Deal ' on 'The View'Wayne Brady is hosting the Daytime Emmys this year, and he has been nominated as the host of 'Let's Make a Deal.' Today on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated on ABC), Brady told stories about hosting 'Deal' that would not only make the nomination deserved but should qualify him for hazard pay.

When people win on 'Deal,' they get excited. That's good for the show, but bad for Brady's health. "I've been grabbed, poked, prodded, punched, slapped," said Brady. "You would think that I was going through TSA. Because sometimes the joy is too much."

Brady said sometimes when a woman wins, he has a different problem. He likes to look good in his suits on the show, but that's not an invitation for groping.

'Let's Make a Deal' Contestant Consults Her Teddy Bear, Wins a Trip to Mexico (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Apr 5th 2011 5:55PM
Woman consults bear on 'Let's Make A Deal''Let's Make a Deal' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) can be tough to navigate. That's probably why a woman brought her giant teddy bear to the studio today to help her with the really tough decision of whether to take the big box with something that plays music or the small box. She took the big box.

"So, you and the bear made a decision for your team," said host Wayne Brady. He asked if the woman talked to her bear at home. "Sometimes in my sleep," she replied. Because there are tough decisions to make there, too.

It eventually came down to a decision between the big box, $1,000 or curtain number three. She chose curtain number three and won a trip to Mexico. Hope they allow bears on the plane.

It's a Dance-Off on 'Let's Make a Deal' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Mar 11th 2011 6:00PM
Wayne Brady officiating a dance contest on 'Let's Make A Deal'Friday's 'Let's Make a Deal' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) briefly became 'So You Think You Can Dance' as two contestants showed off their moves. It was Jimmy the break-dancer versus Qwang the techno dancer.

Host Wayne Brady gave the play-by-play as each dancer did their thing. He sang for Qwang and his "crazy legs," crooning "Qwang do your thang." Jimmy then give it his best shot witch some athletic but awkward break-dancing.

Qwang won the competition, but things got dicey when Brady accused him of "touching his booty." No worries, though. That was worth an extra hundred bucks, giving Qwang a total of $600 for the day, just for dancing in public dressed like a nun from the future.

Wayne Brady Discusses 'Pimp Slapping'On the latest episode of 'Let's Make a Deal' (weekdays, syndicated), an audience member tries to assist some contestants. However, this may not be the best idea. Then, he tries to get himself invited along on the trip with them ... to the displeasure of his girlfriend, who is sitting right next to him.

Which is when host Wayne Brady steps in. Brady warns John that if he doesn't watch out, he's liable to get "pimp [slapped]" by his girl. Excellent point, Wayne Brady! It's all in good fun, though.
