'Scandal' Will Be One Big Shonda Rhimes Reunion Show

by Jean Bentley, posted Sep 26th 2011 4:00PM
Scandal, Kerry WashingtonAOL TV has learned that Shonda Rhimes' newest ABC series, 'Scandal,' will share a lot more than a creator in common with the network's medical soaps 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Private Practice.'

Many of the guest stars booked to appear in the first season of 'Scandal,' which is scheduled to debut in early 2012, have also roamed the halls of Seattle Grace. Kate Burton and Jeff Perry, otherwise known as Ellis and Thatcher Grey, will both play Washington D.C. higher-ups in the new series, which stars Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope, a PR crisis management consultant who specializes in ushering politicians and other celebs through very public scandals.

Burton will recur as the Vice President starting in episode 5, while Perry plays the White House Chief of Staff. JoBeth Williams, who played Addison's mom on 'Private Practice,' will appear as a major client during the series' third episode.

Gilmore Girls: Unto the Breach
(S07E21)
So here we are... the next-to-last (or penultimate, if you want to use SAT words) episode of Gilmore Girls. Like I said when the show's demise was first announced, it seems like the show wouldn't be able to wrap up any of their loose ends, especially because the season was already in the can when the announcement was made. But as we found out from one Ms. Lauren Graham, chances were that the show wasn't going to come back, anyway, and the last few episodes were written to function as a season and series finale.

Gilmore Girls: Lorelai? Lorelai?

Lauren Graham(S07E20) I really find it hard to feel sorry for Rory Gilmore. Yes, she grew up without a father for the most part, and for much of her young life, she and her mother Lorelai struggled to keep their heads above water. But, for the most part. Rory has been able to achieve whatever she's set her mind to achieving. Until now, of course.

There are worse things that can happen to a person than not getting a New York Times internship: dismemberment, irritable bowel syndrome, bad haircuts, and at least a couple of other things. But she's gotten so much in her life that not having a job when she graduates seems like a complete disaster to her.

Gilmore Girls: It's Just Like Riding A Bike

Gilmore Girls(S07E19) Rumors have been flying around for years that Lauren Graham and Scott Patterson don't get along really well off the Gilmore Girls set. I've always wondered how things between them might go when the cameras weren't rolling. Would they be cordial to each other? Painfully polite?

Well, I'm wondering no longer. All I had to do was watch those first awkward scenes between Luke and Lorelai in this episode, and I now I have a pretty good idea how things are between this show's stars (if those rumors are true of course).
