Lost game for iPod is released

by Erin Martell, posted May 23rd 2007 8:28AM

Josh HollowayGameloft, the company behind the Lost mobile game, has released a version of the Lost game for sale on iTunes. The game is available for 5th generation video iPods and costs $4.99. The show's writers created a storyline specifically for the game, which allows players to take on the character of Jack Shephard. As Jack, players can "interact" with characters like Kate, Locke, and Sayid.

Among the familiar island settings featured in the game are the beach, the jungle, the hatch, and the Black Rock. According to the game description, players can also "relive the most eventful moments from the series," including the 815 crash, running from the Smoke Monster, and encountering the Others. The game presents players with "challenges" like exploring, hunting, helping the wounded, and searching for dynamite.

Gameloft has created several games based on TV shows, including Desperate Housewives and The O.C.

It was inevitable: Lost videogame is coming!

by Bob Sassone, posted May 22nd 2006 5:20PM
LostABC's Lost is such a hit (one of those shows that's both a mainstream hit and a cult fetish) that it's doing everything it can to make it even more popular. There's the show you can watch on TV, there are the eps you can watch via iTunes, there's the interactive online game and a tie-in book, and now comes the news we all knew was coming, a videogame. Ubisoft will make the game, and J.J. Abrams and other Lost people will help with the storyline.

Can I make a suggestion? Make the numbers a part of the game. Players have to punch in the numbers every 108 minutes - no matter what else is going on elsewhere in the game - or the game ends! Ha!
